god this album is really good. Trying Times sees James Blake balance between the emotional balladry of Friends That Break Your Heart and the dance music of Playing Robots Into Heaven, and he managed to execute it perfectly resulting in his best batch of tracks in a while
I think it's ok tbh. The concept of Charli going dance-punk is cool, but the song needs to be fleshed out more to pull me in.
That being said, if she is going to make a rock album like she wanted Sucker to be, I want her to work with Rivers Cuomo again because that would be funny
If you told me back in 2021 that Kenny Beats would be the best producer for Weezer other than Jake Sinclair or Ric Ocasek, I wouldn't believe you at all. But him and Klas Åhlund bring out probably the rawest production out of a Weezer song since Malatroit, and they end up sounding the most lively since EWBAITE.
