The Latin influences go MILES to give this album a unique and consistently engaging sound. The Songwriting is just as (if not more) insane than the insane instrumentals. It feels like Geordie is projecting this intentionally absurd masculine image straight from a film.
There's this constant battle, where bravado and self-assured misogyny cracks for a few seconds at a time; flicking to a lonely, bitter reality. Greep is projecting a character who pines for this movie-star badass spy ... read more
Was a mistake starting with "I'm God" because literally what could top that heavenly experience
Pretty definitive Midwest Emo in the sense that it best highlights what almost all Midwest Emo sounds like to me
I haven't read Animal Farm, but to say that you need to have read Animal Farm before listening to this is like saying you can only appreciate "The Prince of Egypt" if you've read the bible.
Pink Floyd sets the expectations for these grand, cinematic and textured Prog Rock masterpieces, and Animals meets those expectations pretty well
There's definitely something timeless sounding about her sound, and it's not just because of the retro feel. Something about her voice and how she carries herself just makes her songs sound like they've inexplicably always existed.
It's not the kind of thing I'm going to be bumping all the time, but I can still definitely respect "Back to Black"
Good ole hardcore ROCK N' ROLL to show all these zoomers what REAL music sounds like
It's good. Jack obviously cares about putting out a worthwhile release. I think at this point, I've just conditioned myself to want "more" out of the little rock music I do tend to listen to, so a tried-and-true simple rock experience just doesn't always interest me
A huge step forward in terms of clipping.'s production. It also goes harder into the really artsy, avant-garde aspects that clipping. have already flourished wish. I think that "Visions of Bodies Being Burned" almost crosses the line with how abstract the tracks can get, but the sheer musical talent displayed usually brought me right back in
Tons and tons of fun. Can't ask for much more
Some amazing production and great lyrics that are only occasionally spoiled by some of the most out-of-pocket, insane slurs and remarks about women and gay people
I like some of the songs on here. the production is still super solid, and Cudi has a unique vocal style that I like. "Indicud" is also really bloated, aimless, and mixed pretty badly. I wanted to like the album because I do like Cudi, but there's way too much filler and way too many technical problems for me to really thoroughly enjoy it
Media illiterate conservatives will really hear him sing "sent me off to a foreign land to go and kill the yellow man" and think "hell yeah"
Definitely not bad, but it feels very inessential compared to literally any other Radiohead albums that you could listen to instead. As much as I really like some of Radiohead's later forays into electronic experimentation, I feel like The King of Limbs represents the point of no return of their full-blown ambient slop nothingness transition.
Sure, it's moody. That is a plus. but I don't think it's much of one. I can go "OoOooh SpOooOky" and play the sound of a ... read more
A very technically unique album. The production is pretty layered at times, and the light psychedelic feel makes it stand out from some of the other of his Beatles contemporaries.
Linda McCartney's contributions also shouldn't go unnoticed, which add even more of a trippy and hypnotic quality to the music through her vocals
Literally everything right about folk music. It's unfortunate for listeners that it isn't on Spotify, but it's great that artists can stick up for themselves against these big companies; The downside being that less people get to go on the amazing journey that is "Ys"
The absolute pinnacle of soulless. The production could not be simpler, using the exact same light-synth-keyboard-boombap formula on every. Single. Song.
I'm just beating a dead horse but everything that everyone is saying is so painfully true. It's not even entirely fair to call the music "dated" when it would have sucked just about as much today then it would have 10 years ago
Also: is JID doing some kind of humiliation ritual because why does he keep doing verses on ... read more
Really just a full improvement on earlier Depeche Mode works. Easily one of the best things to be born from the New Wave era, naturally evolving from the sounds and vibes to create some peak dark and moody synth
