I don't know how they made Laid to Rest sound so lame and goofy
Uhhh ignore for the album cover, it's edited on Spotify and Apple Music. "My Life as a Woman" is very good debut sludge metal project that rarely drags and features creative and varied hard to listen to moments that the genre is known for.
Works well as the album opener for "SMILE! :D." I love how the song uses both the positive and negative meanings of "knock yourself out" at the same time.
They have lizard in their name because they're secretly chameleons that can shift into any genre and pull it off with near perfect performances
Not the biggest fan of the falsetto vocals in the first minute of the single but the instrumentals are a good homage to blues rock
After really enjoying “All Bitches Die” by Lingua Ignota. I was really interested to see what Kristin Hayter would offer on “CALIGULA.” I'm very glad to say that I wasn't disappointed with this album. In fact, I found “CALIGULA” to be a more full experience that offered even more than “All Bitches Die.” Not only because this album is longer and has more songs to it, but because of how it's even more extreme and experimental. ... read more
As the first single for the Porter Robinson album "SMILE! :D," it makes me incredibly excited for it. This sounds like a proper continuation from "Nurture." I really like the way it sounds, it's very peppy in an almost hyperpop way and has a lot of dynamics to it. I could love it even more on the album and the more I listen to it.
If you know me, you probably wouldn't expect me to listen and review this. I decided to listen to this record basically off of a limb. I don't know what it was, maybe it was the blue star it has even though I prefer the user score over the critic score anyday. Whatever it was, judging by the score I gave this album, you can probably tell that I'm glad I gave this a chance.
This album is influenced by a lot of 60s and 70s soft rock influences like the Beatles and The Beach Boys, ... read more
One of the most adventurous sounding and distinct mainstream pop songs of the 2000s
Even as someone who isn't the biggest fan of shoegaze, "Deathconsciousness" is easily one of the best albums I've ever listened to. The mixing on this album is incredible, particularly with the way it sounds murky yet very precise and clear enough to be intelligible. That makes the project feel like you are in a constant dream state or coma as the people you know and love continue throughout the day.
The meaning of this album is almost vast and adds a lot to the album as ... read more
Rose acting like only they have the right to tell someone "no means no"
On “Nurture,” everything that worked about his debut project "Worlds” has been improved upon by Porter Robinson to the point where each song has their own emotional identity.
There's just something so comforting about the electronics and production across the album. I believe Porter achieves the comfort because no electronic instrumental hits too hard, and when it does hit hard it is teased through the buildup and progression of each track. Especially when the ... read more
This song sounds like it was made in an executive board room with not a single woman present
One of Chat Pile's easier to listen to tracks, even though it still provides the experience of being in a mental hospital. Already works very well as an album opener.
"Fetch" by Melt-Banana set the benchmark in 2013 for how wild yet distinctive a noise rock and hardcore punk project can be. It is more abrasive than most noise rock is afraid to be, and it goes harder than a majority of hardcore punk albums. That is likely due to its tight, aggressive instrumental performances and uncontrollably abrasive vocal performances that can sometimes be catchy. Not to mention the electronics that often add another wave of insanity to the album. Recommend ... read more
This honestly has one of the catchiest mainstream pop choruses of the year
I want to like this track, but Sabrina's vocal delivery on here is really annoying
I have something I have to admit. The debut
Windwaker album "Love Language" was one of the first full albums I had listened to when I was getting into metal. I thought it was pretty good and I didn't really think much about it.
After not really getting into many popular metal bands, I decided to branch out to the more obscure ones and eventually decided to branch out to other smaller artists from popular genres. That is when I found out that I really liked the genre of hyperpop ... read more
Every time Eminem has a somewhat clever line, he follows it up with a line where he says the R-word, talks about his issues of there being more than two genders, or describes how small and fat people need to die
