This is a fine deathcore EP. I will say it's better than their last album which had a lot of nu metal and pop metalcore elements that made it sound silly with the deathcore vocals. I think if you like this bands deathcore sound you'll enjoy this
Some good pop chorus and riffs but a lot of the songs sound similar to me, and the album isn't doing anything experimental to set it apart from other pop focused punk albums. I think I prefer their album "Chemical Miracle"
This track took me back to when I was in my Dad's car listening to 2000's pop punk. I gotta be honest, I love the chorus. Probably one of their best since "The Hell Song." Drums are great too. Despite it not doing something new for the band, I think if like you like old Sum 41, you'll enjoy this track
Warning: if you don't know anything about this artist, get ready for an acid trip. This single is better than anything off of "BORN FROM A WISH." It is still a little too chaotic than it probably should be, but I've learned that cybergrind is a pretty chaotic genre anyway.
So I’ve had a lot of people telling me to check out Kristin Hayter's work, specifically under their alias “LINGUA IGNOTA." I decided to listen to this album first since she only has three album and I might listen to all of them. After listening to this album I will have to cause damn this is a great album, and no one was really talking about this album to me so now I'm even more excited to hear her other albums.
I wasn't expecting both the powerful harsh demon vocals and ... read more
This is better than their last two singles. This one has some good riffs and change enough to where 7 minutes doesn't feel too long. The clean vocals they use are more cleverly placed than on the last single
Why is the mixing so bad on this single? I guess it is instrumentally better than anything off of "Between Death and Dreams" since the verse aren't as easy to follow on this track. Plus there isn't any clean vocals which I thought was annoying and bland on their last EP. Despite those positives, this track still ends with a tacky breakdown that leaves it sounding like they just listened to "Pain Remains" by Lorna Shore before writing this single
If you look up "generic pop metalcore" this would likely come up. There's some fine performances on this album but overall every song sounds the same and a lot of the choruses can be cheesy
This is probably the most that I've enjoyed from a Pierce The Veil album so far. I was excited to listen to this since I really liked "Pass The Nirvana" when it came out as a single, but I think the track ratings speak for themselves. Other than the album opener and the first two singles, there really isn't much great or even good here. I will say, at least I got something out of this album compared to the other Pierce The Veil albums that I've heard that I didn't get anything out of
No. Not only does this make me uncomfortable but it sounds bad and means nothing
This is my first time listening to this band. HEALTH are a band that I've heard a lot about especially from the pop metalcore scene, which is weird considering that this is an industrial pop album. I think this album does a better job of blending pop with other genres compared to other projects that I've heard this year. However, I think this album could've used more experimentation in some points. Plus the vocals, while sound really good on some songs, often sound too similar between tracks
Avenged Sevenfood were one of the bands that got me into metal my high school years. After their drummer The Rev died, I felt like that band didn't really know where to go since he was the main song writer. I hate "Hail To The King" and ended up never listening to "The Stage." I'm glad this band tried something new and just went for it. However, this album is a HUUUUGE MESS, with really bad vocal effects and choruses that aren't that good or don't make ... read more
Despite a few riffs on this album possibly being worth coming back to, some of the clean vocals come across too meat-headed for me and all of the songs have similar structures that leave them sounding the same
This track is better than whatever "Self Hell" is. However, it still sounds safe by melodic metalcore standards in terms of riffs, drums, and vocals. Malevolence add a little more energy to the track which elevates it slightly despite me not being the biggest fan of them
I was a little too excited to listen to this but this melodic metalcore album ended up being forgettable to me. It's not a terrible album but I will likely never listen to this again
I was excited to hear this after listening to "Lead Pipe" and "Heaven Sent," but this album ended up being just fine. The first half of the album is better than the second half in terms of riffs, lyrics, and catchy choruses. For me the final three tracks blended together and didn’t really stand out. While I originally wasn't the biggest fan of "Tightrope," it has grown on me especially since it is one of the most unique tracks on here
While instrumentally this single is better than any track off of their last album, it still sounds like 90% of modern alternative metal and is overall a forgettable track
