Indie Rock I love you. Andy Shauf is an incredibly talented musician; even so, this being the bands debut album is insane?? The years of effort they put in shine through in every aspect of this record. It's a perfect blend of indie folk and rock, I'm obsessed. Canada wins again

- favs : Sunset Canyon, Lost On You, To Be

Tommy Lefroy - Flight Risk

I'm such a massive fan of this EP, I've had it on repeat since it was released and won't stop listening any time soon.

- favs : Shoot, Knievel, Trashfire

girlpuppy - When I'm Alone

Indie rock is one of the best things to ever happen to music. Her music is only going to get better over time, but even this was fire. The lyricism is so true to being a teenage girl and hit close to home with every line. On top of that, her influences being the twilight soundtrack and daisy jones & the six are so real to me. I'm a big fan of her sound and I'm very excited to go through the rest of her discography

- favs : Wish, I Want To Be There, Teenage Dream,

Ed Mount - Close to Your Heart

I came across this album at pure coincidence after stalking a friends spotify playlist. I've been looking for something that resonates with me the same way Djo's DECIDE album did and this is exactly that. It has an amazing retro-funk thing going on that I'm obsessed with.

- favs : Distant Calls, It Might Be Something

Steve Lacy - Gemini Rights

fire.

- favs : Bad Habit, Mercury, Give You The World

Del Water Gap - I Miss You Already + I Haven't Left Yet

Typically im kinda eh about breakup albums because they tend to feel very whiny and "boo she doesnt want me anymore what if i kill myself", but i love when theyre cohesive like this/following a timeline. plus he sounds great

also,, "you can count the rings on the wood without cutting down the tree" is insane. like 'youre so much smarter and wiser than me in a way that i could never relate to.' fucking crazy way to word that

- favs : Quilt Of Steam, Gone In Seconds, WWNBLAE

Bestfriend - places i've lived

Does It Matter is SOOOOOOO good. Before I address the rest of the EP I really need to get that message across. Does It Matter is my song of the month, of the year, of ever. This song chews sooooo hard it left nothing for everyone else. Ok-that being said, this is a good EP. I really really enjoy their sound and their lyrics. The rest of the album in my opinion is not on the same level as Does It Matter, but it's still fire.

- favs : Does It Matter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hana Vu - Public Storage

I don't know why everyone is hating on the album cover!! I did think it was going to be more of a punk/noise album because of the art, but I love being wrong so it was a fun surprise to hear her airy dream-pop sound instead. I love her vocals, very Snail Mail/Indigo De Souza-esque.

this rating is bound to go up over time. during my first listen I just wasn't really clicking with her songs, but as time passes I find myself enjoying it a lot more!!

- favs : Maker, Audabe, Keeper

The Staves - Dead & Born & Grown

- favs : The Motherlode, In The Long Run, Mexico

Came for normal people, left with an incredible gregory alan isakov esque album. Violin, piano, strong vocals. I don't need anything more.

- favs : Vodka Sorrow, North Star Lover, 100 Acres of Sycamore

Lizzy McAlpine - Give Me A Minute

Lizzy........... she could sing about literal nonsense and I would swear that I've never heard anything better.

not a single skip on the entire ep. when this was first released i listened to what are we i swear to god every single day for months. it's my 2nd most played song of all time. "cause in what world do we exist, not seperate but as two? an alternate dimension, where i love you too." bye

- favs : what are we, angelina, stupid

Lorde - Pure Heroine

this is THE teenage girl anthem. i would murder people and do vile things to hear ribs for the first time again. it's quite possible that nothing ever made in all of human history will ever top ribs. ever.. this album . . .. . lorde you are a genius

- favs : RIBS !!, Buzzcut Season, Royals

Djo - DECIDE

At first I wasn't really a fan of whatever genre this is and struggled to get through the album, which is entirely my own fault. So, I left it on repeat for a few days and now I love it :) Stockholm Syndrome? maybe, but it worked. LMAOOO I looove the sound Joe created for this album

- favs : Cleopatra, Sleep On The Floor, Ophelia

Iconic folk album - literally the blueprint for sooo many songs today. I can never unhear the Pentatonix cover of white winter hymnal it's burned into my brain forever - If I had a spotify wrapped as a 12 year old that song would've been on top.
