RELISTENED ON 4/26/26 (90 --> 95): Yeah I really should've done this earlier. It used to be one of my more forgettable Deftones albums for some reason, which I can't really see why because all of these songs are peak. As per usual with Deftones, the 2nd half is better than the first, but that isn't to say that the first half is bad by any means. The title track, Beauty School, and really that entire first half are phenomenal as well. This is another flawless project by ... read more
I thought this album was super overrated so I gave it a try for myself and now I can say that I was WRONG. It lived up to what people say about it. This project is extremely ahead of its time with the production obviously but it's also super impressive lyrically. On a lot of these tracks, it just feels like the words melt into the beat with how fluid therapping is. And not only is it smooth, there's real meaningful messages behind the words they're saying too. B.I.B.L.E. is SO ... read more
WHY are these songs so short bruh. A lot of these also just felt really mid and yeah the length definently didn't do anything to help. Only 3-4 great songs with the rest just being alright or straight up bad. Pretty dissapointing considering the wait, not that I'm a Joji fan or anything but still.
A lot of screaming which I don't really love to say the least but focusing on the instrumentals during those parts helps because it's amazing. The singing parts are genuinely some of the best I've ever heard though on top of some phenomenal rock instrumentals. Would be a higher rating but again... screaming lol.
This album is great but then I realized that this was made all the way back in 2001!? This sounds so freaking modern I'm actually blown away. Anyway content-wise this album is very pretty and bjork sings her ever living heart out so that's great.
God the title track is so good. Anyway yeah this will just leave you feeling depressed, I'm not sure what more to say about it lol. It's pretty similar to their Self-Titled album, and it feels like a pretty well done sequel to it if anything.
Probably the coolest of any depressing album I've ever heard. The production on this is genuinely insane, and it's a lot more philosophical in its concepts than just "she does't love me anymore" as most sad albums do. Truly one of the existential albums of all time, but in a good way (?).
This was a bit dissapointing as someone who has heard their later work. This is a lot more depressing with less substance than their newer stuff. But CAS has that style that I just have to love, so it gets a nice 70.
Pretty dope production but idk this was kinda boring for me. Also the rapping was so unexpected but I didn't mind it at all lol.
Wow at last Summer Salt doesn't make me so sad that I want to die :D. Seriously though this is nice and laid back, while still keeping to that romantic element that Summer Salt does best. Some songs on here are actually kinda dancy so that was a nice surprise.
Girl rock but it's also pop and it goes hard at times icl. PLEASE LORD help me like girly music, it's holding me back.
This is definently offensive but ima just say it. This album is just Radiohead/Geese but worse. Definently more like Geese though but whatever. I just don't like this physchelic style of music, I kinda find it corny sometimes. Maybe someday I'll appreciate it more.
Very night timey for sure which I love. Like half the songs were upbeat half were depressing but I'd say it was a good mix and worked well. These songs definently grew on me the further I went into the album, it's a really cool style.
I love Japanese music, I love upbeat music, and I love chill music. And this is the best of all three world in one album. Such a light-for-the-soul album if that makes sense. Can I just say though that the first minute of this album is one of the greatest things I've ever heard. And what's crazy is that the intro isn't even my favorite song, so you know this album is good.
Great album but this is insanely upbeat compared to what I normally listen to lol. No real flaws outside of that, if that's even a flaw.
THIS is using the human voice as an instrument. All the instrumentals and the vocals just melt together to create something lovely. The only slight issue though is that there's so much going on at times with the music that it's kinda hard to distinct what you're actually listening to. Some of these songs were lowkey emotional too which surprised me. For what is basically an instrumental album, this score is saying a LOT. Great stuff.
This gave me some crazy 2010's nostalgia for some reason even though I was hearing these songs for the first time. I was really surprised that this came out in 2025 because yeah it's insanely 2010's and I love it.
My friend from school told me to listen to key glock and he said this is his best album so here we are. Pretty decent but I kinda got bored halfway through because all the trap beats sound the exact same I swear. The songs were pretty hard throughout, just needed more variety.
