This is some real jazzy hip hop.
Truly some elegant jazz weed rap, highlighted with a beautiful piano and frequent flute showcases. This is some delicate hip hop, but also a very strong stream of conciousness and theme. I love this new release from Avantdale Bowling Club, and it's one of the best hip hop releases of the year.
Favorite track: Friday Night @ The Liquor Store
Final verdict: Next level jazz weed rap/10
Exhilarating from start to finish.
Like seriously, this album does not give you a single second to breathe. From the first second, Soul Glo takes you on a rollercoaster ride that will leave you looking like a cartoon character with their hair sticking up. Brutally loud and in your face!!!!
Favorite track: Gold Chain Punk (whogonbeatmyass?)
Final verdict: 30 seconds of this could disintegrate any elderly within a 5 mile radius/10
It's taken lots of time and reflection for me to come to my final conclusions about this album, just as I'm sure it has for many others, but I'm more than ready to say that this is an amazing album.
Is it reasonable to say that this was the most anticipated, long-awaited, and hyped album... ever? It hasn't been very long that I've been up to date with day-to-day, week-to-week releases of music, but I find it hard to imagine that any artist could have made their fanbase yearn for new music more ... read more
Billy Woods feels like one of those rappers you'd pass in the streets of New York, always out there hustling and giving it his all. Church has no shortage of that jazzy east coast New York feel, and Woods comes with plenty of tone and bars. Production is very strong with this album, as there was a consistent feel throughout the 36 minutes that didn't get tiring. This is one of those albums and artists that you can show an old head to prove "real rap" isn't dead.

I've never listened to Slipknot before, and wasn't incredibly optimistic that I would be able to digest it simply based off of appearance and overall vibe from what I've seen about them in the past. But after the first song Adderall finished, I was thinking to myself "Hey this was actually pretty palitable. Not an amazing track, but not abrassive at all." And then the The Dying Song (Time To Sing) came on, and I quickly realized my initial expectations were closer to reality.

Melt My Eyez See Your Future is one of my favorite hip hop albums of the year and right up there with TA13OO for my favorite Denzel Curry album. That being said, the Cold Blooded Soul Version's of these songs adds even more to the experience, and in most cases, is better than the original. The only newer version which didn't feel totally right was X-Wing, which was one of my favorite tracks of the original album.
The Extended Edition features two new songs which, for B side releases, ... read more
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs first album in nearly a decade is an extremely enticing and enjoyable listen. Spitting Off the Edge of the World and Wolf are anthemic, songs I could absolutely hear filling up stadiums and being something to shout as loud as you can. The emotion from Karen O, the lead vocalist, is strong, and paired with some heavy rocking guitars, creates catchy earworm tracks nearly front to back.
Fleez and Burning were also highlight tracks for me, while Lovebomb and Different Today ... read more
One of my biggest musical pet peeves at the moment is albums and songs that are all about sex, but sound like they're written by someone who has never had sex before and is trying to brag about how great they are at it. But while this album comes across as one of the most horny of the year, I actually believe it, and this self proclaimed shy girl is not shy about it at all.
What holds this album back for me is a complete lack of energy. I kept wanting more from the instrumental, but every time ... read more
Edit: This album has unfortunately fallen off quite a bit for me, especially after going through some of Björk's past works. It just doesn't stand up.
Review: In what is personally a shocking turn of events, I get it now. And not only do I get it, but I love it.
My experience with Bjork coming into this album was very, very limited. I know of the Bjork stalker, which is a fascinating story. I know of the incredible praise she's received on this site over a nearly 3 decade long solo ... read more
I didn’t think this would be great, but wow this is bad. The production feels very undercooked, and DaBaby isn’t saying anything we haven’t heard already from him.
Like, who the hell is actually bumping “No Condom”?
I added "Roblox is my life" to my playlist so every once in a while I'll be reminded of this gem
I can only describe the time I just had listening to this album as some sort of spiritual experience.
Never before have I been utterly consumed by music like I was with this album. Somewhere in the first 10 minutes of Bring the Sun/Toussaint L'Ouverture, I completely gave in to the wall of music, and it was unreal. The way this album toyed with my emotions was exhilarating, sending me up and down like a yoyo with waves and crashes of sound, followed by hypnotic drones.
This felt like some ... read more
I'm a little surprised by the pretty negative ratings on this album, I was enjoying the vibe. While it doesn't quite live up to the rest of the TDE catalog, I think this is a fine album.
NAV moment π
EDIT: Done with the album, and this is not the worst thing I’ve heard all year. In fact, I’d say it’s pretty solid. NAV managed to get some really strong features from Uzi, RealestK, Bryson Tiller, and Baby Face Ray to name a few. There were still some corny moments and bars, and I wouldn’t say NAV’s overall performance was too strong. Overall though, I think this is a pretty decent “turn your brain off” kind of record.

Pi’erre’s poor rapping and questionable bars make this record (over an hour) really difficult to sit all the way through.
Super relaxing and enjoyable listen, I've already ordered it on vinyl
