Oh shit it's already over. I saw this comment on one of their songs that said that the less punk a band looks the more they are, which after hearing this I wholeheartedly agree on. It takes no chances this one, it sacrifices being somewhat catchy for most of it in order to be as fast, loud and lyrically charged as it can be, I dig it. I was introduced to these guys by my father and learned their whole backstory and how they pioneered the genre of Manguebeat and how Chico Science died young and everything. A complete shame, this album is great. Best way to describe it is complete unadulterated fun, this guy has so much charisma just oozing from his flow and those bright instrumentals, fusing Brazilian funk with heavier rock elements. I've always wondered who was the person on the cover, no reason whatsoever. After listening to this I've come to the conclusion that this album is what defines Ween as a band: highly talented serious scheißeposters. The devil listens to Big Beat.

That cover is a real eye catcher for sure. I was surprised to find out this had soon in it, for the longest time I thought it was made for loveless only, guess they had a slot to fill up when they weren't infesting houses with chinchillas. It's a cool EP, you can definitely start to see the way they're shaping their sound, the tone is near identical to the one in loveless I think. It's a nice break of pure noise, the distortion is fuzzy like a blanket, good stuff.

An audio documentary on the Gulf War with IDM tracks in the background, you're presented with a nice, cookie cutter narration with some audio extracts to contextualize the events being described. At least, that's what it starts like. The doc starts to shift in tone and atmosphere, the narrator falls silent while you are left with the music and audio snippets from politicians and the sort. This EP is tough to get your hands on here in Europe, this was gifted to me from America where I assume more Ween is available. Sealed and everything it's incredible. The thing about Ween is that they're a band that you can either take seriously or not, and that usually works to their disadvantage because this makes people think they're a joke rather than them making joke songs.
