The cover art sums up how this album sounds, it is trippy. Listening to it in full I can't help but think it's much more suited to experience the whole thing rather than do bits and pieces, it sounds way better that way. I liked all of the songs but I can't really tell what I like about them, I could say it's just the mysterious atmosphere of it all but I'm not sure it's just that. I can see this growing on me in the future.

This one is just bad, in nearly every sense possible really. Whereas Vultures 1 at least had a couple of ok songs in here the only I would truly call alright is SLIDE, then the fuckers hit 180 and drive off the cliff. It's just so boring, no other song is catchy and the use of AI in this only contributes to its deterioration in quality. Some can get close, 530 has an ok beat at first, then Ty Dolla Sign's verse arrives where he meatrides Kanye to oblivion it's so embarassing. ... read more
What a good experimental hip hop album! I hope no one that reviews it will tarnish the band's image for all eternity!
I've been working on a paper about ambient music, talking about the genre itself and its various influences. When I was writing the Brian Eno part I put on this album to have a reference on what to say about his style. Then I just ended up listening to the whole thing. I think I actually enjoyed this more than its predecessor, there are no unnecessary choral segments and all the arrangements are so soothing, it's a bit more condensed which helps it make it more digestible. Big fan of ... read more
At first I thought I was gonna fucking hate it, from the big songs I heard from them it all sounded like the biggest Cure ripoffs in existence, regardless of its validity. It didn't help that the band name striked me as one that a 2000s emo band would use, the name is sort of stupid. But it was actually good, every song is quality and nothing is wrong with it. The vocals weren't that interesting but you can't have everything sometimes. It is more dream pop than shoegaze, which is ... read more
One of those albums I said I listened to but never did, until today. I can see why a lot of people rave about this one, it's such a great psych experience. You got all these otherwordly guitar sounds combined with a lot of orchestral elements and it just leaves you wondering how the fuck did they do that? Crazy consistent, no song misses the mark. Wish You Were Here is a 10/10 song, the rest are 9s, even Shine On You Crazy Diamond. All great.

One day I was sorting through records and saw the cover for this one, it's an interest snatcher. Then my father bought it on vinyl and that gave me a good enough reason to listen to it. Those first 10 minutes are trippy, then it sort of stabilizes until the last track. I think it just left me confused, this is the first ever funk rock album I've heard. The vinyl sleeve had something about fear and whatnot, and the back cover has a skull where the woman's head is. Great album ... read more
I mean just looking at the cover you can already assume this is going to be a summer album. Which is ironic because it is very similar to Pinkerton, what I consider a winter album. The yin and yang I guess. It does sound very similar, I guess it's not that bitter on the lyricism as Pinkerton, which is the usual Weezer sort. But I dunno, I really liked it. I think they're at their best when writing catchy pop songs and not shoving a gimmick down your ears, which is what they do here. ... read more
With this one I'm done with all of Aphex Twin's studio albums. Since you're a fucking idiot you don't know that he forgot an mp3 player full of songs on a plane, and so he released drukQs to get ahead of leakers. This is a great album, it mixes a lot of the drum 'n' bass and acid techno of ICBYD and RDJ Album with these interesting compositions made on disklaviers and the sort. It strikes a balance nicely, you've got your schizophrenic drum patterns and your ... read more

I need to ask what the fuck were these guys smoking to create this album. I'm very sure you don't need to be a christian to be obsessed with this album but I don't think I fully get it. Just reading the lyrics gives me a headache, it just confuses me. I'm very lost for words at the moment, I don't know what I can say about it. The cover is amazing though.

I'm almost done listening to Aphex Twin's full discog, after this I only need to find time to listen to druQks. I can't help but think Syro is a convoluted mess of all the musical phases Richard has gone through, stuff like breakbeat drum patterns, acid techno synths and the jarring straightforward piano composition at the end. Because of this I don't think it is very consistent in quality, just like ICBYD, very similar stuff. But that album has ... read more

I bought this one along with White Pony on CD a few days back because I'm a complete hoarder and like plastic discs more than convenience. After listening to it after the latter it definitely has a few differences, like its rawer sound on the guitars and especially the vocals. Still has those seductive vocals Deftones are known for but it's definitely harsher than on White Pony. I liked it a fair bit because of it, though not as much as their follow up. ... read more

Today I sat down and went through all 2 hours and 36 minutes of this album, including the songs from the expanded edition such as #19 and th1. Going through the whole thing might sound tedious but I think it's the only way to fully appreciate this record, picking out individual songs won't sound as good as sitting through those harsher nightmare inducing songs to get to the calmer ones like #21. It's a sort of reward when you get to those songs. I ... read more
That's me, that's me when I listen to this album. You lot all know that Creep was a huge success and that Radiohead were pissed with their hit song being about stalking some girl and having to play that shit every show or no one would fucking come. Their solution was to create the perfect rock album, The Bends. It's mesmerizing, every song has this grand feel to it, an overwhelming sensation whose sound wraps you in a blanket of gorgeous acoustic and distorted guitars. Fucking ... read more
Ok so this isn't a fucking EP it's over an hour long, I don't know what Will was smoking when he called this an EP. So here we have it: Car Seat Headrest's last solo album before signing to Matador and becoming an actual band. While I certainly think that their later style is better, How To Leave Town is nothing to scoff at. Taking a more electronical turn than previous albums, it is a quality record and an overall cohesive project. All of the songs are pretty good and work ... read more
Aphex Twin's music alternates vastly from person to person. Some people enjoy his ambient works more and some like listening to schizophrenic drum patterns. Usual contenders for best Aphex song also vary a lot. Some people will say Xtal because they like the snare and the upbeat rhythm. Some will say Stone in Focus because it soothes them and makes them think about life and dillemas and whatnot. And some say Windowlicker because they're correct. This is the best song Aphex Twin has ... read more
