Fun at sometimes, but mediocre at best. The songs are obviously made to chart. There’s not much outside of catchy melodies and vaguely relatable songs. I didn’t find this much better than her other projects, but I found it more enjoyable throughout rather than having a few really good songs and a lot of filler.
A pretty dull album. Outside of the title track, which sounds exactly like Baby One More Time, there’s nothing that notable. This really lacked originality and personality. This album was a bit more consistent than her previous, but it’s not consistently good.
This is an improvement from his previous projects in my opinion. I think the shorter song length helped me not get so bored. The hits on this album also help elevate this album more so than previously. That being said, the duration of this album is a lot to swallow. Some of the songs also began to blend together, but it wasn’t a huge problem. I still found whenever he gets an ego or tries to sing about sex to be cringe, but it is minor on this album. I think he’s at his best when ... read more
Now Danny, I know you don’t talk like that in real life. I don’t understand how people can actually think his voice is good. It sounds like a parody. The production is, as usual, pretty good. Some of the features were not my thing at all (not looking at you femtanyl, you were the best song). This was just a bit too much for me. Way too abrasive at points. I know it’s the style, but it just made some of the tracks unbearable. And that voice. When I catch you Mr. Brown. His flow ... read more
An amazing album. This album really shows off JID’s technical and creative prowess. I’m a big fan of his cadence on this record. I think some of the tracks went on a bit long and some of the production could have been better, but those are minor complaints. Overall, a great listening experience.
An exceptional album. At twenty-two tracks long I expected at least an hour listen, but it was only around 45 minutes. The short track lengths do not detract in quality though. An innovative and bold abstract hip-hop album that certainly deserves its flowers.
A solid album from Conan. It’s not my favorite, but it’s pretty good. Some songs threw me off. The beat on Best Friend was a really weird choice and the opening song was kind of annoying. Other than that it was Conan standards almost all the way through. Memories is a standout, but other than that everything was pretty standard for him. Nothing outstanding, but good.
A great album from Australian singer-songwriter, Sia. There are some great songs on here. This is probably her best work in my opinion. The hits on this album are the standouts. I wouldn’t say that the album tracks are bad, they just aren’t up to the quality of songs like Chandelier, Big Girls Cry, and Fire Meet Gasoline. Overall, a really interesting and vulnerable album.
The second part of Teddy’s therapy session is not quite as good as the first. The previous album had some hits on it that weren’t too bad, which is something this album lacks. It’s basically the same quality for me as the first minus songs like Lose Control that elevate the first for me.
There are some pretty decent songs on here, but the majority of the project is uninteresting. Lose Control is extremely overplayed, especially on the radio, but it doesn’t particularly bother me. Other than that, there just isn’t much to remark on.
This isn’t really that special to me. It was mostly fine, but it was just kind of basic. Coco does your typical R&B singing and it’s fine. The production is fine. The lyrics are fine. This is just fine. Overall, I left the project with an overall feeling of meh.
Straight off of her hit song with Sam Smith, Kim Petras decides to release her studio album. Unfortunately she would not get even close to the level of attention with this release, even with a Grammy win now under her belt. The quality of this record almost surely played a part in that. This is just so bland and basic. She doesn’t even sound like she wanted to be in the studio making this. It’s also all over the place. There is no vision for this album, which becomes even more clear ... read more
Doesn’t quite hit the same highs as Emotions for me, but it is consistently great. One of the best vocalists of all time continues to impress with her vocals. The production is fine, but it suits her nice. Overall, a great project.
So forgettable. This is and Talk That Talk occupy the same spot in my brain. I couldn’t tell you which songs were on which other than the handful of actually noteworthy songs, like Diamonds. Everything I said about her last album apply here.
Here we go again, back to the slop fest. There is a few hits here that are good, but they are drowned out by slop. This is literally what happens every time to this lady. Every time. How does she only learn to not do this after seven tries (excluding Loud because she actually remembered to include more good songs than bad ones that time). I couldn’t be less interested in this project in full. It is just so boring and would have a way lower score if songs like Where Have You Been ... read more
Finally, a good Rihanna album. She has finally cut the track list down to just 11 songs this time and most of them are good. Love the way you lie part two is strange to me, but whatever. Some of Rihanna’s best songs are on here and most importantly aren’t drowned out by an overwhelming number of slop songs. Good job Rihanna.
Well at least she attempted a concept this time. This is just tired. She’s trying to be dark, but it just doesn’t work when the music isn’t hitting. There is a more consistent quality in this album, which is good, but it could still be much better. The only song I truly enjoyed was Rude Boy, and even that’s pushing it. Just more filler to me.
I fear this gets overrated because of the singles that are on here. This album is packed with hit singles, but as a complete project is messy. It would be one thing if I really liked the singles, but I dont. If I liked them a bit more the rest of this would be easier to look over for me, but I just can’t understand the love for Umbrella. I don’t like that song. Don’t Stop the Music, Breakin’ Dishes, and Shut Up and Drive are pretty fine, but they aren’t enough to ... read more
A slight improvement from her debut. At least this time there were like three good songs instead of just the one. Unfortunately, a majority of this is just filler. I find it hard to believe that this is a considered project that isn’t just made to sell copies by making great singles that get really popular and attaching them as quickly as possible to a mediocre, half-baked album to sell at full price. This is only the beginning of one of the biggest single-first artists of all time.
