Well, this is a mixed bag... and not what I expected.
Where do I start? Not going to lie, I was pretty anticipated for this, especially considering how they pre-released "Illusion", which was pretty good, only to learn that was the best song out of the rest.
The eponymous title track is great and it's a pretty good expansion to the "Kwangya" theme and their previous TT "Savage", but the chorus needs more time to grow on me. "Illusion" is for SURE the ... read more
The results for NiziU's first album "U," comes out with interesting results.
᛫ The lead single, "Chopstick" is seriously catchy. I usually don't hear music like this in the industry, so it's refreshing. The rap and chorus are the highlights of this song.
᛫ Vocals are pretty well-processed. You can tell that each song has seriously energetic vocals!
- The first half is much better and catchier than the second half.
- The B-sides are fine. Although they are enjoyable, ... read more
While it may be strong at times, "XOXO" tells us that the efforts here are a huge miss.
This is going to be a longer review than usual, as I'm just basically explaining every song on here in-depth.
Working with famous producer Teddy Park, known to produce the majority of Blackpink's discography, along with other smaller, and unknown producers, it was predictable that "XOXO" wouldn't be in the positives. However, "XOXO" is a bunch of layered tracks that could've ... read more
It's no surprise that "=" is... nothing new.
We all know the story of Ed Sheeran. If not, he IS one of the well-known artists of the 2010s. He was breaking tons of records in his lifetime, and also lots of awards too. However, what gets me is that I still don't get how "Shape of You" shaped up to be one of the most-streamed Spotify songs ever! I just couldn't bear its replay value, despite being overplayed. Then, for the singles on here, we have "Bad Habits" with ... read more
CL seeks a new chapter with her debut, and strongly adequate album, "Alpha".
"Alpha" comes just after CL's departure of YG Entertainment. After which, time was spent on wrapping up some of her previously scrapped songs and sneaking them into "Alpha", similar to the previous project, "In the Name of Love". The overall result of this album actually delivers, and is exactly what I pretty much imagined. Unfortunately, here isn't necessarily anything ... read more
Pinkpantheress has finally reached her appeal with "to hell with it", along with a side of nostalgia.
If you've been on TikTok before for the past few months, you've most likely stumbled to the small snippets often posted by Pinkpantheress. Over time, each snippet posted was undoubtedly praised by the community, with many calling it addictive. Until now, the whole mixtape was released, with most of the snippets shortlisted on here.
Now, I understand why this isn't getting all of the ... read more
Well, it certainly isn't as strong as her renowned singles such as "Hello" or "Rolling in the Deep", Adele was able to keep the lyricism strong, and her voice is just as capable as her past works.
Woefully, "Easy on Me" doesn't have anything top-notch, nor a single memorable part, leaving the song something to be desired as high as her previous singles. However, the song itself is just as good as it is, as much as on par.
YUKIKA continues her extravaganza city-pop saga with "timeabout", which is easily well-crafted just like "SOUL LADY".
Just after listening to "SOUL LADY" for the first time, I realized that she departed her label and started a new journey with some of her previous contributors. As that was, it made me happy that she's still continuing her career, and eventually noticed "timeabout", which I boggled to take a listen to, up until now.
"timeabout" ... read more
[50 FOLLOWERS SPECIAL: 90]
Thanks for 50 followers, and everyone who has been supporting and following me! I stumbled upon this website and really felt my music taste was boring, and felt restricted. I'm so glad being here, and seeing new music I really like. I can't wait to start this journey of music reviewing.
Thought I would choose to listen to YUKIKA since this project seems to be one of the most acclaimed K-pop projects this decade (so far).
Why haven't I stumbled and listened to this ... read more
[EDIT:] Removed track listings for the rewritten review as they are now officially attached to this EP.
[REWRITE: 81]
I decided to rewrite my previous review for "Savage". I listened to it a couple times, and it definitely grew on me. I also think my previous review wasn't up to my standards, and not to mention that I learnt more info about this EP and it's processing. If you want a shorter review, check out the First-Day review below this rewritten review.

A literal masterpiece, "no cap"!
I'll keep this short in review, because you can pretty much listen to it yourself and praise anything here. Little Simz absolutely outdones herself as usual with "SIMBI". I really like how funky, and unique, each song is, I can literally bop to this, and that's because I've never felt familiar to anything like this before. The rhythms are also clicky as hell, and Simz's energy throughout the entire album, and I really favour that.
Props to ... read more
While I don't have a strong dislike for this album, I don't have a likeable option for this album either.
Doja Cat's "Planet Her" comes just after a year since her smash hits erupted the charts. Since then, she has been heavily recognized, and is pretty much catered by TikTokers.
What about the album? It's fine. It does have some fun moments, but overall, it slacks in quality, and some of the songs seem pretty lazy here, specifically the ones that seem to be following trends, like ... read more
[UPDATE: 81]
After listening a couple times, I think my scores are still stable enough. But I think it's growing on me (+1 point).
[FIRST-DAY REVIEW: 80]
Well, sit down and listen, because this album is going to feel like a ride.
At first, I was pretty skeptical about Lil Nas X's music career when his smash hit "Old Town Road" went extremely popular, and record-breaking. That is because he seemed to be empathized on focusing on making remixes to boost the sales, which really had me ... read more
For the actual review, this song is sub-par. It gives me eerie Billie Eilish vibes. I do appreciate the start of this song, with the guitars, and soft sound. Also, the lyrics are slightly awkward to look or listen to, because it's generic. To be fair, this song isn't bad at all, it was just extremely underwhelming.
Now, for the slightly offtopic part, I'm taking away points because of the advertising and promotion.
All of the reviewers below here can agree that the promotion of this song is ... read more
She seriously switched positions, hasn't she?
Well, here we are. Ariana Grande has her 6th album, "Positions". It's just feels more grainy than her previous works. This album just didn't fit in for me, and I haven't listened to it as much as "Sweetener" since it's release.
I think I should start off by saying that the production here is above par, though it's obviously not as high as it used to be, and I think the main reason is simply because of the tracks here like ... read more
Ariana Grande finds that her light is finally coming.
Sweetener is a different album compared to her old albums like "Dangerous Woman". It finds Ariana Grande experimenting with music, and new producers, like Pharrell Williams.
"raindrops" is such a great track for an opening track, it make me feels very relieved and amused. Some of my personal favorites would be "R.E.M.", "sweetener", and "no tears left to cry". While Pharrell Williams' ... read more
Let's, hmm... top of the mornin!
Anyways, to the review... I enjoyed this album from start to end. Baby Keem's energy is thoroughly accurate throughout each song, as each song has a different vibe everytime I listen to them. Elsewise, parts of the album feels a little underwhelming, especially notable during the first half, and "booman" & "first order of business".
I do like, as stated before, how experimental each song is, like "range brothers", and ... read more
Olivia Rodrigo nails her first release with "SOUR". Although some of these songs aren't as bold as I thought, like "drivers license" or "favorite crime", some of the songs slightly make up for it, specifically "jealousy, jealousy", which immediately stuck onto my head. Her vocal performance is spot-on too.
After all, this album images the mind of what real-life situations really feel like, such as "drivers license", and it perfectly invisions ... read more
UPDATE (55): "LALISA" is getting slightly better after a few listens, but that still doesn't make the overall EP stronger, primarily because of "Money".
ORIGINAL (52): Something about this EP does not fit right with me. I've been circling around the discography of BLACKPINK, and I think their music is decent enough, but after taking some time to reflect on "LALISA", I find this EP mildly disappointing.
Of course, the best between the two here is the title track, ... read more
All of these songs have a similar opening... also nothing on this album feels interesting or inspirational. This EP leaves something desired to be worked on, specifically the overall structure of each song. However, if for whatever reason, you're still planning to listen to this anytime soon, I'd probably go with Vixe Que Gostoso or Benca.
