I'm gonna underage drink and there's nothing you can do about it
what if we took punk and made it really really really really really really :3
wow i really fuckin love this. it's spellbinding from the first note, pulling you in and never letting you go. it feels like silk being poured into your ears, lulling you to a place of pure bliss. blood orange always had a good voice, but here it shines through even more. it's so beautiful and controlled, liking he's been mastering his craft since forever. his voice meshes with the production too, causing these great moment of pure synchronization. it does get a bit slow in the middle, but even ... read more
i was a bit skeptical at first when i saw this album, cuz i was scared that she was gonna do something new and mess it up. Now i know that all that worrying was for nothing, because this is by far her best album. It takes what made her so good in the first place, the experimental pop stuff, and streamlines it to be more digestible. I loved what she was doing before, but this album shows how the evolution of that sound could be on par, if not better. Her singing comes through here a lot more ... read more
Holy shit, i re-listened to this once. ONCE. and i couldn't get enough. i think i'm on my..... 30th? it's short, sweet, and infinitely replayable. The songs are amazing, insanely catchy, and rina has a voice that carries so much volume. 10-20-40 is going to be my most streamed song of the year, mark my words.
how in the actual hell do you make music like this? like how creative and crazy do you have to be to come up with these ideas and make them WORK!?!? yeah its a bit of a mess, but it's a mess with a purpose and a message. A controlled chaos.
This is like if pop music was made by an alien. It has structures and melodies that are pop to a T, but they're presented in a way that's off slightly. It's like stumbling through the dark, trying to make your way out of it with little to no information. Scary, but in a really cool way.
You guys know me. I try to make mostly positive reviews cuz listening to albums I know i'll hate is just a waste of time. I don't like sitting through mediocrity or straight up awfulness. When i saw this album back in may i steered clear cuz i knew that i would absolutely hate it. The genre tags, the reviews, the general buzz, the whole thing was just screaming at me to avert my attention somewhere else. However, in this dried up raisin of a month i got desperate. So desperate in fact, that i ... read more
“Out beyond the sea
There is a bed
Filled with dreams
Filled with love
I will meet you there
Beyond the sea.”
Veeeeeeeeery underrated. Just a really cool album that makes me feel good. If you like pop stuff or folk stuff then you might wanna check this out. These last couple weeks have not been the best for new music, so digging deep and finding hidden gems like this is slowly becoming my routine. (also i've been lazy and not listening as much stuff anyway)
My best friends of about 5 years are all great people, and i love them so much. Sometimes though, i wonder if i did something wrong along the way. I told them that i was gay a couple months ago, and they're supportive and don't treat me differently. I thought their habits would change too, but i guess that was wishful thinking. I constantly have to correct them about using the f slur and about some of the jokes they make. They say they get it, but they don't change. I love these people with all ... read more
I can’t even lie and say I hate it. Like yeah there are obviously stinkers, but I just turned my brain off and had a good time. I can’t justify giving this anything above a 6, but I still like it more than I hate it.
Nicki please stop nuking my house, it’s not very nice ):

Grew off me heavy, mid asf now lol
Don't let this beautiful album slip by you.
"The King" is pure magic. It feels like I'm in an epic fantasy movie with a lot of moving parts, and in the end the culmination is nothing short of masterful. The instrumentation on this is lively and majestic, pulling you in with lush strings and somber guitars. It feels grand and atmospheric, never letting up with it's uniqueness. What stands out to me the most though are the vocals. My god, this guy can convey so much emotion in just a ... read more
i've never felt so empty, yet so fulfilled. I'm prob gonna make a longer review... but fuck.
