A step down from Michigan, but still very good. I just miss those horns man. WHERE DID THEY GO???
Why is bro so crusty on the cover? Mr. Weekday comes back with synthpop fever on Dawn FM and pulls it off pretty well. The tunes are there and it’s a great time, but the flaws appear the more I listen. It’s not really that interesting and the ideas start to run thin later in the track list. Still, Dawn FM is a good time.
A better starboy. On all fronts “After Hours” is a way better venture for The Weeknd, being more stylistically diverse, more cohesive, and more thought out than his previous attempt. The style on After Hours is overflowing and the creativity is obviously there. A great album all around.
Something is not clicking here. This is the start of The Weeknd’s synthpop albums, and it’s a rocky one. There are very few low points, but the same could be said about the highs. It’s a very middle of the road album that takes a while to really get good. The first half is great for the most part, but the second is very hit or miss. A very polarizing album.
“Beauty Behind The Madness” is a really good time all around, with some low points scattered throughout. It’s bloated for sure and is boring at points, but the sum of all its parts is very good.
A step down from the mixtapes for sure, but it's still pretty good. Some songs just drag A LOT. The title track and pretty drag to an agonizing extent, and live for is so mid. Even with those gripes, i still think this a really solid album.
She does it again! With "Desire, I Want To Turn Into You" Ms. Polachek continues her work that she developed on Pang, with some differences here and there. She comes in with even prettier instrumentals this time, along with some more low key tracks as well. Even though i thing Pang does it a bit better, i still love the flow of this project and the feel it projects throughout it all.
The way Pang makes me feel is indescribable. It has such lush soundscapes and pretty vocals. it's out of this world in terms of production too. Such a beautiful album.
