first listen 19/11/2025- starts off strong but falls into mediocrity. decent when you consider it's their tenth album and they've been going for 30 years... but not one I'll be rushing to come back to
first listen 19/11/2025. far from their best but i still quite enjoyed this! no real standouts besides Dance Away, just a solid bunch of tunes. Although, if you're not a fan of Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry already I don't think this will do much for you
This is well produced and the songwriting is good enough to have a few of the songs really worm their way into your brain but despite this the album is rather boring. Its hard to pinpoint exactly why this is the case but I think the most likely reason is that it lacks personality- add to that the fact it gets a bit samey and is overly long.... it got to the point where I couldn't wait for it to end
A real mixed bag, but nothing bad, and some top tier Bad Seeds songs, most notably one of my personal favourites- Straight to You
A lot of people compare Interpol to Joy Division, but this record sounds a LOT like The Chameleons. The first half is essentially flawless, and while the second half drags a bit 'Stella...' carries you to the finish line.
first listen 18/11/2025. this is a fun album! it does the synthy new wave sound of the time really well, and most importantly they could write a tune so a lot of the songs were sticking in my head despite not speaking Spanish. well worth a listen
Hard one to rank on first listen- but enjoyed it enough to warrant a relisten at some point
Incredible opening four tracks and closer. The latter, 'Like It or Not', sounds like a Depeche Mode song (great shout Freyja) !
