It's kind of weak compared to the Offline Version, but overall it's one of his more enjoyable and consistent albums.
At first I was kind of confused, and the same interested, because a lot of the track names are identical to some of the tracks on the Offline Version, and so I didn't know what to expect.
Considering the two were released on the same day, I was expecting most of these to be remixes, and, well.. they kind of are, but then this is the original version, so technically ... read more
It's a slight downgrade to his previous EP, but then I don't want to act like it's horrible since most of the songs are still half decent.
The style here didn't change much since then, it learns more towards Cloud Rap but apart from that I didn't really hear any significant differences between this and the first installment.
Production is fine, not that I would call it great, but it was easy to listen to. His performance is pretty basic, and yeah, once again, it ... read more
His best EP so far, with some inclusions and (probably) some exclusions from the LP! album.
It started off really well and unexpectedly, but, well, the first track was kind of the only highlight on here, the rest of the songs are just.. okay, I didn't really take them to be amazing or so.
These were probably just made for fun, with only a few tracks to be taken seriously as they were placed on an upcoming album, but he excluded the weaker ones.
Yeah, it was a pretty chill listen. The ... read more
It's quite different from the stuff he's been recently releasing, but it's definitely a great result for the temporary change of style. Well, I guess he did make a blueprint which he was going to use for multiple years, so I don't mean short by saying temporary.
This was undoubtedly his best project at the time it released, and just one of his best in general. Well, I don't know if that's true, but it should be.
I really like the production and yet again, it's ... read more
After multiple underwhelming releases, JPEGMAFIA releases his sophomore album and it reveals his talent and potential both as a rapper and a producer.
Well, finally we're here. I'm honestly surprised every album he released after this one are well acclaimed so I'm really glad to have reached this point in his discography. There'll probably be some boring EPs, but I still have multiple albums to listen to, so I won't let my head down.
This kind of shows how much he has ... read more
Another unnecessary EP, but it's pretty much just one (or two) of the songs that were excluded from Veteran.
The production is alright, not that I would listen to this frequently but I guess it's fairly chill. I liked his rapping. Sort of.
To be fair, don't know what else I can tell ya. This was just short as hell.
Fav. Track - Don't Ruin That Boy
Least Fav. Track - Ash My Blunt on a Suspended License
What the hell is the point of even doing this man.. Don't think anybody needed a 13 minute EP with shitty skits, shit songs. And somebody tell me, why the hell did JPEGMAFIA choose to act like a damn WOLF all the time? There's levels to insanity, but I didn't know it goes this far.
Everything about this is just horrible and beyond, and I don't want to act like this is the worst piece of music ever, but I personally have never heard anything so bad from an artist so good. ... read more
Another half decent project, but I'm getting a bit tired of all of the releases up to this point having a very similar outcome, this almost sounds like the tracks that didn't appear on Black Ben Carson.
Back at it again with the political stuff, and yeah, I think his debut mixtape was mainly good for the political and conscious lyrics, but this is kind of weak compared to that, but I guess there were some decent songs here.
The production is alright, kind of takes me back to his Cloud ... read more
Looking back at his mixtapes this is honestly a pretty big upgrade in audio quality, but not a significant upgrade in overall rapping ability. Well, compared to his second mixtape which was clearly rushed, I guess it is sort of better, but that's only because he put low effort and time into it. It could've definitely been better.
While the first half of the album is more consistent, I personally enjoyed the second half more mainly because of the highs. If it wasn't for The 27 ... read more
Quite a U-Turn from the potential Peggy showed us on his previous mixtape, this felt unfinished and rushed, and actually, it was, because this was released only one month after his debut. Felt pretty much zero redeeming qualities while listening to this.
So did anybody even understand what the hell this album was about? From the cover and some of the track names I'd believe this is a political mixtape just like his previous one, but I personally hear barely anything that associates this ... read more
Next discography: JPEGMAFIA.
This was honestly way more interesting than I would've expected from a debut mixtape from a dude that was still kind of developing his style. I was quite invested in his political and conscious lyrics, some were pretty deep, some were fairly funny, but overall, he did a decent job with his lyricism.
The atmosphere of this mixtape is kind of dark, mainly because it's Cloud Rap, and, you know, that's kind of one of the main descriptions of it, but I ... read more
The last friday of February brought a lot of new albums from some great and popular artists, but Gorillaz's album was number one on my to-listen list. It's honestly quite surprising how quickly time passed by, it feels like it's been only one month since the announcement of this album, but it's been over five months now.
Well, just based from the critics, which for some reason got to listen to this album earlier, I knew this was going to be quite great, and yes, it ... read more
I listened to the first half of this album a month or two ago, but it, for some reason, was too boring and uninteresting for me at first. I avoided listening to it until now, because my love for Experimental Hip Hop has been growing bigger and bigger, so here I am again, and honestly, I'm very happy I decided to give it another try, because now I understand the good about this type of music.
Out of all the experimental artists I've listened to, JPEGMAFIA is the most popular and ... read more

Reading my old review for this mixtape was honestly so painful now that I really like Death Grips, so I decided to relisten to this project once more.
I don't understand - what the hell did I not like about this? Every song here is honestly very good, and apart from the instrumentals, all of the songs can easily be called amazing.
Looking back at my earlier reviews for Death Grips' discography I take some words back. This is honestly my favourite project of ... read more

[Check out my last review if you want to see my thoughts on the discography]
This just isn't a good way to end this off.
I have no idea what Death Grips were thinking when making this, but this sounds like you took every instrument and mashed them together while also spamming loud sound effects.
For a last project, this is insanely underwhelming, and while the song itself isn't insanely horrible, but using the same concept, but unlike their previous ... read more
While it is a great last album before 8 and continuing years of silence, I think they could've left off with a better record overall, but let's not get too much of ourselves, because there have been some sources saying they are working on a new project right now, just no confirmed release date, so who knows how long they're going to take.
Yes, there's a good amount of great songs on here, some amazing instrumentals by Zach Hill and performances by MC Ride, but there are some ... read more
It's pretty much multiple different songs in one, just like most single track EPs.
Weirdly enough, I expected this to be way a more aggressive and noisy listen. Well, I guess it was quite hardcore and loud, but the production was fairly well done it felt almost pleasant to listen to.
The song itself is really good, but the entire 1-track concept is just not very interesting on my part. I've seen a few projects like this, and to be fair, it's kind of getting unoriginal. But still, ... read more
Death Grips is making great albums back to back, and it seems like there haven't been any trips for them since March 2015, excluding their instrumental EP.
I was fairly excited for this, and honestly, I didn't know it would come so close to Jenny Death, which is my favourite album of theirs. This is an easy contender for their top 5, and from my personal experience, it's my second favourite album of theirs, so yeah, I'm very satisfied.
The production is very good, and unlike ... read more
The quality of the songs here is fairly better than their previous instrumental project, I wouldn't say it's miles better, but this is still more listenable and easier to endure. The 22 minute runtime is for the good, I believe.
I mean, this is kind of identical to Fashion Week, and while it does have a little more to enjoy, I still think this is about the same quality as their worst album, but just a tad bit more enjoyable.
Honestly, some of these beats sound pretty solid, I would ... read more
Damn, I honestly didn't know Death Grips is capable of making Rap Rock sound so good.
After their worst album, I was really praying for this to be good, even made a prediction that this would be like a reward for listening to such an underwhelming record, and honestly, I have to say it - This is their best project. Now, I don't know if there's anything they made after this that would out do it, so let's not get too confident, but I believe it's going to be hard to beat ... read more
