Solid. Found myself drifting in and out of the album with my attention lost at times, but then suddenly being pulled back in by new sounds as the album progresses. I wouldn't say it's as good as some other ambient style music out there, but if you enjoy that type of music then I reckon you will really enjoy this album :)
Fun and nostalgic, it's pretty solid throughout. Maybe not quite as good as I thought it was as a child, but still an enjoyable listen :)
I found the second half of this album quite a bit better than the first, but saying that it didn't quite get to me the same way other Death Grips music has. It may grow over more listens.
It's ok - sounds nice but really struggled to engage me at all. It's biggest downfall is that it is entirely forgettable.
Pretty good! A bit amateurish in its sound at times, especially through the middle section, but there are some brilliant tracks and concepts throughout
In my opinion, her best work to date. It's beautiful, diverse, and at times even comforting. I find her sound here far more appealing than her more recent work, and it just stuck with me far more as a result. A great listen that really showcases Natalia's talents from beginning to end.
One of the best, and most accessible, Welsh-language records out there. A really fun listen.
Really enjoyed this, the first track is brilliant and the rest are quite solid too. The only thing that bugged me was how abruptly it ended.
Incredibly unique, and at times almost insane - this album will certainly be looked back on as one of the most influential albums of this era
An incredible sounding EP that really engages you throughout. I found it not too dissimilar from the sound of bands like Parcels, albeit in a slightly more funky, pop/disco way. Very enjoyable!
As a non-French speaker, this album was really enjoyable to listen to. A nice variety of sounds that doesn't sound disjointed at all, a really nice album :)
There's no denying the beauty of this album - Natalia Lafourcade's whole performance is simply mesmerising. Saying that, I did find myself struggling to fully connect with a fair few of the tracks, and therefore finding myself a bit bored and uninterested at times. A strong album, but I can't help but think that something could have been done to make it more gripping and less of a drag.
Edit: 82 -> 77
Lost some of its appeal after hearing more of her work. She has better albums.
Outside of the features (which are pretty solid) this is quite an underwhelming album that doesn't really inspire much
A beautiful revisiting of his debut album, Mav approaches this with far more maturity and experience than his past self. The emotion he puts into the tracks is stunning.
I'll review this in English rather than Welsh just so I don't have to fight autocorrect!
This album is honestly really enjoyable, and arguably one of my favourite Welsh albums that I have listened to so far. The songs are solid, the Welsh lyrics don't sound out of place or awkward like some albums, and generally it's a pretty strong album. 'Cymru, Lloegr, a Llanrwst' is a brilliant track that I could listen to on repeat for a long time!
The downside of this album however is absolutely it's ... read more
A bit of a strange one - it combines so many different genres into one album that on one hand, it's a crazy, fun ride from track to track, but on the other hand it feels messy and convoluted. As a whole though, it's a pretty enjoyable album without too many weak spots.
Favourite track: What Good am I, That Doesn't Happen
Surprisingly enjoyable, it's a short release but I found the whole EP to be quite fun and pleasing to listen too. Will update this over future listens if that changes :)
