#217 Rolling Stone’s “Greatest 500 Albums of All Time”
There’s something about Oasis or maybe just Britpop as a genre in its entirety that can’t seem to click with me at all
The first listen of this was unbearable for me and even after several repeated listens it never really seems to work for me, all their songs genuinely sound similar af especially the choruses, I’d be surprised if their other albums differ sonically or in substance at all.

Not the biggest fan of this but I can’t deny that most of the songs are good
No real standouts for me though except maybe ‘Red Light Special’

#221 Rolling Stone’s “Greatest 500 Albums of All Time”
Crazy energy on this, using it to its best potential rolling up the phrase “fuck you” into a full-length rap-metal album, although this is also where the problem lies for me; while consistent, it does become a little bit one note at parts and doesn’t really seem to know where to wrap things up.

I haven’t got much to say about this apart from it being really good
Based on just two albums so far I reckon it’s safe to say Madonna is (most likely) easily one of the best artists of all time, setting the precedent for pop-stars several decades down the line in terms of cohesion, which expands to the concept of “eras”, hit-making abilities and iconicness.

#223 Rolling Stone’s “Greatest 500 Albums of All Time”
A hypocritical album made by a hypocritical man.
I actually personally really like how self-conflicting this tracklist, containing some of the most beautiful songs ever, preaching love and hopeful messages - then immediately turning around and delivering such spite and hate-filled lyrics on ‘How Do You Sleep?’. It’s just amazing that something like “I Don’t Wanna Be A Solider’ can be on ... read more

#258 Rolling Stone’s “Greatest 500 Albums of All Time”
This definitely grew on me lots over multiple listens and reading into the backstory. The production is interesting and well thought out to accompany the fantastically written lyrics; more-so than lots of other albums from around this era on the list in my opinion. Very excited to hear her other albums now.

I think this is going to be a continuing trend for me, where I can greatly appreciate a body of work for jazz, but I haven’t yet been able to find any personal connection nor meaning to justify a higher rating.
