This tape strikes a phenomenal balance between sonically qualitative and innovative. I rarely question the intentions of Flume's instrumental choices and editing. Many times, at least in my perspective, I feel like a typical artist that attempts something experimental is diversifying his sound solely for the sake of being different. With Flume's mixtape, this certainly isn't the case. The transitions are perfect. Playing the album start to finish maximizes the experience.

WIZRD could have easily been cut in half. The inconsistency in quality and its one-dimensional sound prevents this album as a whole from being remembered as a project that represents the better half of his discography.
Favorite Tracks: Temptation, Call the Corner, Unicorn Purp, Promise U That
Least Favorites: Rocket Ship, Crushed Up, F&N, Overdose, Gold Dummi
For how artistically talented K.R.I.T. is, this project cuts every element that separates him from his competition. Not unlistenable, just hollow.
I enjoyed a lot of the rhythm and vocals on this debut. While sometimes generic, the sincerity overrides many of my issues while listening in the moment.
Favorite Tracks: Sleep Without You, In Case You Didn't Know, Makin' Me Say, Memory Won't Let me, Mercy
Least Favorite: Beautiful Believer, Close Enough, Like I Loved You
For the amount of potential these two R&B stars have in creating a joint album, "Mih-Ty" fails to reach. Mediocracy is stamped on every piece of it. Not enough groove, too much inconsistency in the vocals, production, and flow.
Favorite TracksL Surrounded, Ride it, These Days
Least Favorite: Goin Thru some Thangz, Lie 2 Me, Perfect Timing, Imitate
Favorite Tracks: Breaking News, Better Not, Space Jam, Interstellar
Least Favorite Tracks: Dear Sense, The City, Save Me From Myself
There is not enough content for my thoughts to progress pass through the initial phase of opinion-making. 50% of the album is shorter than 2 minutes long. Tracks dont necessarily transition into one another either. So I'm left with 10 tracks that are more representative to a demo-tape in progress.
Favorite Tracks: What are you so afraid of, whoa
Least Favorite: One Minute
This rating is based off of the deluxe edition. I think the 4 bonus tracks are the strongest on the album.
I love the sincerity in his writing. I find him to be a perfect balance of all the good that country has to offer. "This One's for You Too" is a very well-rounded debut that offers something special for a variety of listeners, while at the same time very rarely stretches its creativity nor depth thin.

"Slime Language" offers fans a fun set of tracks that don't demand anything more than the effort that was put into it. There are a lot of mediocre sets to this one, but there is a lot to enjoy as well, specifically in Thugger's charisma. I think this would have served pretty well as an EP, as most of this album feels as if Young Thug threw it out to fans without expecting much praise in return. The lows are annoying and as generic as any track that is categorized in this oversaturated ... read more
Astroworld's loose structure results in too many forgettable moments for my taste. While I appreciate the unique, psychedelic sound the album delivers in comparison to his previous works, not many tracks seperate themselves from the general vibe. Travis's delivery is quite solid, but I often feel like I'm listening to extended interludes rather than tightly organized songs, resulting in an album filled with forgettable content.

Eminem's previous release, "Revival" was one of the most disjointed albums I have ever listened to. It became prevalent that Eminem was confused on his stance on the trends hip hop was evolving into. Rather than sticking to his core sound, he chose to adapt his music into - what he thought - was trendy and satisfactory for multiple types of listeners. Rather than creating an album that achieves this goal, "Revival" practically turned even his die hard fans against him. While ... read more
My beginnings with logic trace back to his "Young Sinatra" mixtape series. While I have always enjoyed his energy and flow throughout his discography, my largest complaints and concerns about logic came from his failure to expand his subject matter on anything more than simply rapping about his own writing skills and his aspirations of fame. Sonically, I have never found a reason to be intrigued by logic. He places so much emphasis on his lyrical abilities that it's essentially the ... read more
John Mayer's 7th album suffers from dullness on all levels. It's mixed bag of uninteresting instrumentation and inconsistent songwriting that results in an abundance of content lingering in a pool of mediocracy. I'm not a big fan of the vocal performances on this one either. The highlights convince me that this release would have performed much better as an EP.
Favorite Tracks: Roll it on Home, In the Blood, Changing
Least Favorite: Still Feel Like Your Man, Emoji of a Wave
Paradise Valley is a solid continuation of John Mayer's previous release, "Born & Raised". It has nearly identical ties to its predecessor due to its modest, country-inspired instrumentation. There are moments that display great progress of this sound, such as the addition of crickets and other forms of wildlife the enrich the album's title. The guitar additions that are sprinkled all over this album are excellent as well. Unfortunately, not all instrumental attempts branch out in ... read more
One of my favorite albums in John Mayer's discography. I love the country-inspired instrumentation. Mayer's personal lyrics deliver a soothing and sincere tone that hits me in a way similar to "Continuum". A few forgettable tracks here and there are the only things that hold this album down. But even with a few skippable moments, this is one of John Mayer's most consistent albums of his career to date.

Rodeo is filled with energetic flow and atmospheric production that doesn't fail to entertain. The album is severely inconsistent, though, with about half of the album very skippable. The half that gets things right is enough for me to come back to this album one a frequent basis, as they are smooth, tight, and most of all, powerful as hell. It's exemplarily of what trap rap can be as well as where travis can progress as a musician.

Really don't feel the hype and acclaim surrounding this one. While "Ctrl" steers away from the oversaturated, glossy instrumentation that seems to be a trend for current female R&B musicians, her recurring themes of insecurity are always addressed with the same pacing and angle. While some tracks nail it down, 50 minutes worth of the same pacing, flow, and tone gets redundant and uninteresting after several listens through.

Beastmode 2 has got some decent tracks, but there are not many highlights. It feels like a set of B-side tracks. The energy and flow is not as sharp as previous future releases.

An excellent album from start to finish. Daytona is my favorite release from Kanye's Wyoming sessions as well as it is my favorite from Pusha-T's solo discography. The duo leaves no room for filler. Pound for pound, this project was beautifully produced and written with the expectation of a high quality hip hop album that will be in discussion at the end of the year.
My only critique with this one is its length. Yes, while Daytona gives me an excellent 7 tracks, it is indeed only 22 minutes ... read more
