Mastodon - Hushed and Grim
69

Mastodon's latest release, Hushed and Grim, shows an overall improvement from Emperor of Sand with the first half being more consistent and having great moments but at 15 tracks by the time the album ends the track become more stale and predictable. There is still a lot to offer form this album to some great technical display and a more gloomy approach to their sound is interesting but Hushed and Grim starts on a strong path but starts to drift away by the end.

Uboa - The Origin of My Depression
91

A lot if not most music, comes across quite happy, upbeat and friendly to the listener, offering some form of escapism, a world of fantasy away from the reality which we all live some form of hope, freedom. However, The Origin of My Depression goes the complete opposite direction and chooses to face reality and its depressive nature in an experimental ambient record filled with harsh noise, industrial and death in such a disturbing listen but one which feels real and genuine. This isn't ... read more

ABBA - ABBA

ABBA's self-titled album sees them move in a more positive light and their biggest release at this point in their career with songs like Mamma Mia becoming smash hits and still recognizable to this name and although the pop group is making more better songs the album sin't necessary consistent for me unlike other records and some of the deeper cuts are enjoyable but can be forgettable

Everything Everything - Raw Data Feel
85

Everything Everything returns after 2 years since Re-Animator and well I'm going to say it now this is their best album since Get to Heaven and I would argue may even rival it. Raw Data Feel is a clever indietronica / Alternative Dance project by the band filled with their standard progressive art pop. It has so many interesting ideas and sound when surrounding electronics and it comes off so well done with the production for such an abstract listen and with some of their strongest songwriting ... read more

Arcade Fire - WE
67

After the very bland and boring, Everything Now, the question is what and how Arcade Fire will response to the criticism was apparent and after 5 years, they have their response, WE. Although the same undertones they had built over their career are still here from the alternative dance to the indie rock but comes of in such an artsy expression, filled with some many elements of progressioon, chamber pop and heartland rock for their first true dive into full art rock and its a mixed bag for me. ... read more

Florence + the Machine - Dance Fever
79

Florence + The Machine return with yet another great record continuing their impressive streak. Following a more poetic, sentimental and spiritual listen, Dance Fever is as emotional charged as Florence + The Machine has ever been and with some impressive stand out tracks like King and My Love, this record is well rounded and well produced for a lush but yet heavy album.

Whoa, who is this new artist coming into the scene? With he obvious joke out of the way, it has been a while since Kendrick has dropped a major project, although seen on some features it's been rather silent since DAMN and the black panther soundtrack but that wait does finally come to end. The hype surrounding this record is immense, every year since DAMN you already hear at the end of the year Kendrick Lamar dropping a new release this year that it just seem to become a joke but I'm glad ... read more

Brass sees Moor Mother and Billy Wood pair up together and bring the best out of each other with an avnt-garde abstract hip hop record which is both potent in its lyrical content and in its soundscape for a dark and cryptic listen which sticks with the listener with the great flow of billy woods and the impactful words of Moor Mother.

The Coral - Coral Island
63

The Coral return in the 2020's with Coral Island and another good album by the Indie Rock band. Although there are many flaws with this record to the track length, many songs and interludes not adding much to the overall experience and the sound being quite safe. There are many positives such as the great hidden gems within the tracks list such as Faceless Angel and the story is well told and engaging but too many boring songs and interludes leaves me simply not wanting to return to ... read more

Circuit des Yeux continue their strong streak with -io, a mixture of the beautiful bliss of art pop and the darkness of Neoclassical Darkwave for a well defioned sound and album and although for me, the album is not as tight as some of their previous works or other acts in this genre of music, Circuit des Yeux still manages to bring a well round and consistent release.

Origami Angel - Gami Gang
72

Origami Angel follow up their impressive debut with their sophomore release, GAMI GANG, and it sees the band go into more pop punk territory and for me is a step backwards for the band. Firstly, with such a bloated tracklist many tracks don't add much to the overall experience and alongside this many tracks don't stand out and don't have that edge and for me it has weaker songwriting and being less memorable. The energy is still present and the little math rock influence makes for some ... read more

Archspire returns in 2021 with their 4th studio album, Bleed the Future, continuing their aggressive, energetic and complex technical death metal sound for great effect with a consistent and well rounded album which packs a punch but knows not to over stay its welcome with some amazing stand out songs such as the opening track and the self titled track it loses a bit of steam in the second half but still memorable and a highlight for modern death metal.

Fontaines D.C. returns with their 3rd studio album, Skinty Fia, which sees them continue their gothic post-punk sound which i love and i have adore the band approach to the sound since their debut and Skinty Fia is the full realization of this sound and how impressive it can be with their most focused, consistent album to date, with a beautiful yet dark and twisted pessimistic view on love which comes off so cold but yet understandable and with the how rhythmic the whole soundscape is, it makes ... read more

Pusha T - It's Almost Dry
81

After 4 years since his huge success of DAYTONA, Pusha T finally returns with his 4th solo album, It's Almost Dry, which continues his boostful southern gangsta rap style filled with some of the best modern production has to offer and with Pusha bringing some strong bars and the features adding a lot more diversity and edge to the record. It was worth the wait for this album. I do find it less focused as DAYTONA but it is another strong addition to his already impressive catalog.

GUMBO is another strong set of tracks by the upcoming underground hip hop star, Pink Siify, filled with a dreamy, abstract mellow atmosphere and beats which works so well with the mellow soundscape and more introspective lyrics and although the tracklist is a bit too long most tracks don't overstay their welcome but some don't add much to the overall experience mainly some interludes but still a strong project.

On Katie Pruitt - Expectations
"I find the vocal melodies easily the strongest point of the album and the lyrics are not subtle but i think it works well within the album favor because it not really a subtl record itself in my opinion. From what i remember i found the instrumentals and production rather boring and the overall sound of the album to be dull which meant that the lyrics and the album as a whole didn't really connect with me. I haven't listen to it in a while but i can't remember much about it expect Out Of The Blue that has grow on me a bit."

On The Who - Tommy
"I don't just do my track rating by track by track. I do it by if the track adds to the album has an experience. Tommy is a very good record and if i didn't have the track ratings it would still get the same score mainly due the concept itself doesn't add much to the my overall enjoyment of the album. Every track is based on my enjoy-ability whether that be production, lyrics, melodies, instrumentals, transition into other songs, its involved and importance within the album, and whether it has impacted me personally (which at the end of the day it subjective) etc. I have listened to this album plenty of times but most of the time i feel especially with this album i wouldn't add anything new to the conversation. Maybe i just don't fully grasp that concept and therefore can't appreciated as much as other people but at least not everyone is going to agree with music."

"@kareenak yh out of all the K-pop band, BTS is the one with the most freedom but I am taking about the genre as a whole and even Jessica Hyun-ju Ho said they are genuine friends but she even stated that many bands in the genre don't like each other and that is the aspect I am talking about. Also, you are trying to say that just because i have this view point that it is xenophobiac when i stated that I like the band Otoboke beaver, and i also like; Akira Yamaoka, BABYMETAL, Run River North and Yuna, music from the other parts of the world in fact has some great stuff out there which i probably haven't heard i, but i don't like restricting people just because their are musicians "
