John Martyn returns with another classic folk record and although it doesn't stand up to Solid Air, One World is easily one of his most creative peaks in his career. Taking elements of jazz rock and funk for a beautiful mix within his folk sound for an unique folk record one which oozes lushness with its mellow atmospheric soundscape and with elements of psychedelic there is a lot to engage with this record and with eveyr song being intensive this record is well round and well put together for ... read more
Although not as consistently great as Bee Thousand, the follow up album by Guided by Voices, Alien Lnaes is another strong album and another great album in their extensive catalog. Filled with some of my personal favorites such as A Salty Salute, As We Go Up, We Go Down and Game of Pricks. The album is short, snappy and filled with so much playful energy and with no track being overlong the album knows not to over extend itself and to keep things fun with it's lo-fi aesthetics

All out 80's Duran Duran most famous and one of their best if not their best is an 80's nostalgia trip, with the synthpop / New Romantic sound filled with so much energy, interesting and new sounds and its playful and passionate style makes for a catchy upbeat listen and nothing short of fun. Filled with classic which i don't have to name and deeper cuts which can keep up, Rio is simply put great.

Although not my favorite Bert Jansch record, the self titled debut was none the less an important album in the wave of music especially within folk and baroque with its mellow aesthetics but more importantly the technical prowess that is on display is something that is simply mesmerizing and although not every song is as memorable as Needle of Death or Angie it is nothing but a strong collection of tracks.

Another great release by the doom metal band, Swallow the Sun, which seems them continue their more orchestra / chamber music inspired sound and although not as bold as their previous release it is more focused, leaving a melodic atmosphere filled with nothing but darkness and bitter-sweetness with so many powerful moments both lyrically and instrumentally.

Red Hot Chili Peppers come back in 2022 with Unlimited Love which sees the return of the beloved band member, JohNF rusiciante and although he adds more dimension, depth and experimentation to the record and it is much needed to keep this album engaging, this is ulimately just another safe by the numbers release by Red Hot Chili Peppers but with a more matured and bittersweet sound which is refreshing and keeps the band on some legs but with 17 tracks and if we are being the honest the band ... read more
The long waited sequel to one of Between the Buried and Me best albums, Colors II is a progressive metalcore album filled with so many interesting ideas and sounds with its avant-garde approach wrapped in the band technical prowess which they always have shown for a strong set of tracks and although it doesn't stick the landing as much as Colors and the ideas and sound aren't as interesting or compelling as some of their previous release it is another welcome addition to their discoggraphy with ... read more
Although not as good as 2020 or Peasant which for me was a tall order given there are some of my favorite modern records from the last 5 years, Henki is still another strong addition to Richard Dawson discography with seems him pair up with Circle for progressive art rock album which plays homage to the spacey krautrock era for some really surreal psychedelic music and with a nice concept and incorporating those medieval themes within his music just makes Henki stand out more

To be honest, the lead singles from The Fratellis album, i enjoy and I enjoy alot whether that is due to nostalgia but to me there are super fun and catchy but whilst looking at the bigger picture there are often many more dull tracks which doesn't do anything with the garage rock revival sound which separates itself and yes there are some decent songs but lead singles can only make an album enjoyable by so much

The Byrds return back in 1968 with their 2nd studio album of the year, Sweetheart of the Rodeo, which sees them go for a country sounding album then there establish psychedelic folk rock sound which they built up since the start of their career, and it makes for a nice change of pace without removing the core elements of what makes the band great. The songwriting si tight, the instrumentals are playing brilliant and fun and the vocals are great for another well rounded warming pastoral ... read more
Super Furry Animals sets the tone of their sound on their debut, Fuzzy Logic, a raw, power pop indie rock album with strong elements of Neo-Psychedelia for an album bursting with so much energy with its humorous and surreal sound with fun lyrics matching the energy but it however sometimes can fall a bit off mark with some weaker production and the band not being fully focused on their ideas and sound and it can come with some tracks not adding much and some disjointed moments but as a debut it ... read more
The Beta Band;s sophomore album is a well rounded and well put together record with a lot going for it with it's interesting electronic psychedelic soundscape which is compelling, playful and mellow and allows the lyrics and the listener to be introspective but i just wish there were more stronger highlights and tracks which leave a lasting impression but as a collection it is very good.

Before Traffic would move their sound to a more progressive rock sound they started out as a more psychedelic folk rock centered band like many band early in their career back in the mid 1960's and their self-titled album is easily there strongest in this era for them. The Jam's first true step into greatness and a massive improvement from theri previous album, All Mod Cons, sees their Mod Revival sound come to a better and engaging sound with taking elements of power pop but mainly from the upcoming New Wave scene for some energtic upbeat music which both is fun but tightly written with some catchy but conscious lyrics and great production and soundscape.

A lovely mixture of Britpop and Power Pop on the debut album of Supergrass and although Alright is the most well known song on here the rest of the tracks are also very good with some being fantastic namely Mansize Rooster and Time being some of my personal favorite but there is consistently engaging and fun all throughout the track list. For a playful and album which is meant to be light hearted and get you up on your feet it does that well.

Steely Dan's sophomore album sees the band slowly take more of jazz influence within their pop rock sound and it makes for some playful upbeat music which is both easy listening whilst offering some complex technical pieces which are simply a marvel to listen and the way Steely Dan amanges to find that sweet balance is impressive and although i don't find this as good as the debut it is easily great and much like most of their discography deserves to be remembered and talked about.
