An unbelievable classic within the British folk rock scene, with its pastoral and warm atmosphere which is set so beautifully by Aaron Hutchings' bass work which goes so overlooked on this album. In fact, all the instrumentals fully shine on this record with elements of progressive folk seeping through allowing them to take more center stage and it truly fleshed out the sound and music more for simply a more capivating and engaging lyrics. Coupled along side Sandy Denny's vocals and lyrics and ... read more
Green Day's debut might be a messy album, but within that mess is a lot of charm and passion and some fun, energetic and catchy pop punk and the core foundations of their sound which simply needed to grow and 1039 / Smooth was the seed that needed to be plant

After the Uno, Des, Tre, album basically be both commericial and critical failures, Green Day come back after 4 years with Revolution Radio which sees no real change or improvements in their sound but offers slightly more handful of better tracks but mainly most of them are forgettable or decent but is simply a shadow of what they use to be.

The second installment of the 2012 trilogy of Green Day is still as boring and forgettable as the first, filled with uninspired songs with 1 or 2 being decent but the main problem i have with this album and the other 2 is that they mainly filled like the bands B-sides that they cut out from other albums and for good reason

After 5 years since the popular American Idiot, Green Day finally return with another rock opera attempt, Americian Idiot 2 - sorry i mean 21st Century Breakdown. Jokes aside, the album follows similiar themes to American Idiot but with one big difference, it does everything a lot worse, it is more bloated, there less memorable songs with only Know Your Enemy and 21 Guns being great for me, the themes are less promiment and it is simply just not as fun as American Idiot and just comes off as ... read more
Warning starts to see the downfall of Green Day and one of my biggest problem with the band when talking about their albums, that it they usually have at least1 or 2 great songs but are other surround by quite forgettable music. Warning is the least worst offender, there are still good deeper cuts on this record but the trend for me starts here and some may argue it started even earlier. However, Warning sees the band in a more playful mood and making straight catchy tunes and it works well at ... read more
Easily for me Green Day at their best both in terms of leading songs and singles having some punk classic from the fast paced catchy Basket Case to the more emotional When I Come Around but has probably the best deeper cuts out of any of there record really makes this album shine.

Not really my favorite album by either of these 2 legendary artists, but i do fully appreciate how bold and influential this record was, with a brilliant use of sampling before it become more prominent in areas of pop and then eventually hip hop, for a funk, afrobeat style of experimental art rock which has a beautiful and diverse range of sounds and ideas bursting that I wished i loved it more but it simply has a tendency to merge itself together but as a product of its time and a statement it ... read more
The Siters of Mercy's sophomore album, Floodland, is a Gothic rock classic and masterpiece. Filled with their best work from the electrifying guitars, the slow and dark atmosphere building, Andrew Eldritch's vocals and songwriting. All coming together for a melodic mysterious listen but one which is truly captivating but yet memorable to the more upbeat energtic Lucretia My Reflection to the nearly 10 minute long epic of This Corrosion, there is nothing short of beloved Gothic tunes on ... read more
One of Pantera most well known and beloved records by the metal community and was a cornerstone for shaping the world of Groove metal is undeniably a classic and although the production is a bit weak on this record which I can't lie hinders the overall listening experience. The energy, riffs and passionate is oozing for a violent and aggressive realease whichbonds it all with its boastful nature

Kings of Leon's second studio album, see improvements from their debut, keeping the same garage rock revival sound mixed with a southern influence but done in a more streamlined way which allows the band to leave more of an impression and for some great songs and although some songs still don't have a lasting impact on me, it is clear the band was moving in the right and more consistent direction.

Julian Cope is one of those artists which seems to get more and more overlooked as time passes and it is a shame with a strong and diverse catalog, there is a lot of interesting stuff to digest and Peggy Suicide stands as one of his better projects and one of his more well known one. A double psychedelic filled album filled with a fusion of surf, rock, metal and folk for an electric artful expression, carefully crafted for some bold but yet fun rock.

Superunknown, the magnum opus of Soundgarden and a staple in both Grunge and Alternative rock, is a classic which deserves the title and praise, filled with well known, catchy singles and amazing deeper cuts. Kid Rock doesn't need much introduction, he is quite a popular artist with this album being known as a rap rock "masterpiece" well it's not in fact i hard disagree and state this is mainly everything poor with rap rock. To the boring almost laughably bad lyrics, the style and direction being mundane and derivative of other artists, to the weird southern twing throughout which mostly make the album cheesy, boring and sometimes just unlistenable.

Gary Numan's debut, The Pleasure Principle, is a classic within the New Wave Synthpop movement in the late 70's and saw a more minimal approach to the sound making a cold and mechanic listen with it's futuristic soundscape matching with Numan's more anxious vocal performance making for a well constructed and engaging and intriguing listen.

Everything But the Girl returned in 1988 with their 4th studio album Idlewild, offering a lot of which there is to appreciate with Sophisti-Pop, the mellow and melancholic soundscape and feeling, the more sentimental instrumentals and heart warming lyrics but often this album plays it a bit safe compared to other acts like Prefab Sprout and with some deeper cuts not being as memorable and thus Idlewild can't necessary stand up to their better records.
