Starts off quite strong but it slowly goes down the road into more safe and uninspired indie rock but as an overall listen it has enough enjoyable tracks for a solid indie rock listen but by the second half it many becomes more dull to listen to and even with fan favorites like Dirty Dancehall not doing anything for me it ultimately just falls apart by then and fades into forgettable territory

White Denim's D is a creative fusion of 70's jam band and progressive rock fused with the psychedelic tocuhed indie rock of the late 2000's and early 2010's for a strong effort. Although, not near mt favorite from this style of music with the band often not fulling developing the sound and often the music can drift away into the background such as tracks like River to Consider it has some highlights such as At the Farm and Street Joy but it's main problem is simply that it doesn't stand out ... read more
Fever Ray, the solo project pursued by Karin Dreijer member of the Knife. Is a melancholic, dark and quite an overwhelming listen. One which rewards the more attentive listeners to all the sounds which are going around and with a strong emphasis on ambient and darkwave helps sets that tone and atmosphere with some amazing production one which can rival the best works The Knife has brought out. Fever Ray's first solo project is simply a well thought out and well put together pop record which so ... read more
Another great synth focused indietronica release by Hot Chip filled with both playful, upbeat energetic tracks and more slower soulful ones makes for a nice balanced listen and although not my favorite by them it is still a consistent and fun listen filled with interesting sounds and ideas creating infectious grooves

Beyonce's self-titled surprise video album came late in 2013 and saw a huge change in her approach to music and a mark in a right direction for the contemporary RnB singer into a more sentimental and passionate direction and although the sexual and love undertones are still there they are put into a more introspective way which helps beyonce vocals really shine and with good production, features, i can't help but say this album is good and marks a turning point in her career.

Jack White's first major stride into his solo career, Blunderbuss, sees him continue the blues inspired garage rock revival sound and what a great solo debut it is. Filled with the raw, passionate energy found in his Whtie Stripes era alongside a more introspective side of him and his music makes for quite a good combo. The tracklist is a bit dragged out but has some great songs in their with Sixteen Saltines being one of his best solo songs and the guitar playing is obviously great but matches ... read more
After quiet a long wait, FKA Twigs finally comes back with a full project, her first mixtape album CAPRISONGS, and I have been sitting on it for a while wondering how i feel about it, and although i knew it was my least favorite project by her so far the real question was by how much and in all honestly not that much. It doesn't necessayr have the in depth listen which i adore from her first two LPs but it is fun and catchy and for that alone i enjoy this record but it is her least impressive ... read more
LP1 is a fantastic debut by FKA Twigs and although for me she would go on and do better more consistent projects, LP1 showcases her talents fully to her amazing vocals, hwo creative she is using deconstructed club and wonky to creating a gltichy ethereal atmosphere and her songwriting skills which makes for a sensual hypnotic listen.

Skepta's easily at his peak and easily one of the best album to come out of Grime and although i'm not necessary the biggest fan of the UK hip hop sub genre, Konnichiwa is filled with good production, great lyrics and flow by Skepta. Although not my favourite Neo-Soul album to come out in 2010's, Solange's A Seat at the Tbale, is an emotionally and lyrically powerfully album with strong politically themes intertwined with her personal life for some great imagery and well spoken album. Filled with a more lush and mellow soundscape for a more sentimental listen it is clear this album is well put together but often many songs don't leave me astounded but instead offers a nice consistency throughout it's 21 tracks.

Zeal & Ardor's 4th self titled studio album is a weird avant-garde metal album, filled with elements of black metal, industrial, blues rock, metalcore and alternative metal for a sound which both tries to be different whilst appeal to a majority and that fight within the record itself can either make some of there best songs such as Run or Gotterdammerung but can often fall flat such as Golden Liar or the safe sounding Bow and it makes the whole listening experience feel disjointed, it has ... read more
Voivod finally returns with their first album of this decade, Synchro Anarchy, which continues their progressive metal / technical thrash metal and although the age of the band is starting to show on this record, from the less imapctful vocal performance of Snake to the band playing it safe, there is some wear and tear but some good technical skills on display and an overall fun approach to the album gives an overall fun album and has moments of greatest but it starts to feel more of a drag but ... read more
Although easily their best outing, Foxes' 3rd studio album still suffers form the same problems as their previous album, being too stuck in a previous sound without building upon on, playing ti way too safe both lyrically, instrumentals and production and although it can come together to make some fun and catchy music it often goes the other way into forgettable dance pop.
