Big Thief - Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You
83

Big Thief return after 3 years since their double LP drop in 2019, and I like this band but for me they were always on the edge of greatness and they have achieve it on Dragon New Warm Meeting I Believe In You. It's sees the band at their most introspective and them at peace with themselves throughout their journey through America with some of their best lyrics, production and songwriting. This is easily a warming and cozy experience and although i wish the tracklist was trimmed a bit their ... read more

Backxwash - I LIE HERE BURIED WITH MY RINGS AND MY DRESSES

Backxwash returns in 2021, with I LIE HERE BURIED WITH MY RINGS AND MY DRESSES, which sees her music and style become more streamlined. It is easily her at her most aggressive, dark and straight angry and it makes for a powerful listen filled with amazing political commentary and backed up with impressive production for a great hip hop album.

First Fragment - Gloire éternelle
93

Easily one of, if not, my favorite technical death metal release in recent years, Gloire Eternelle is a beauty mashup of technical death metal with neoclassical metal and more specifically Flamenco, to create such an unique fusion with oozes in creativty and energy for a 71 minute epic journey through some of the most impressive compisitions, soundscape and ideas in metal in recent years, Every muscian here brings their best for one of the most impressive albums of the 2020's

Megadeth - Rust in Peace
85

Megadeth at some of their best, Rust in Peace is easily one of the biggest and best classics in Thrash Metal with songs like Hangar 18 and Tornado Of Souls, it is filled with the brim with memorable riffs and solo, energy bursting out of the seams and some of the bands best lyrical content and although i do prefer Peace Sells, Rust in Peace does deserve to stand next to it.

Atvm - Famine, Putrid and Fucking Endless
79

Atvm's debut, Famine, Putrid and Fucking Endless, is a strong showcase from the Technical Death Metal band showing a more progressive metal approach to their music, it sees a more rougher production making the album feel more cryptic and aggressive to listen to and having some killer riffs and great technical display on the guitar and drums, Atvm's debut simply just puts you into a state of constant adrenaline.

deathcrash - Return
74

deathcrash's debut showcases their strengths and their weaknesses as a band. They are able to create slow, emotionally impactful depressive slowcore / Post-rock, but yet the album stays too safe in its own sound and often many tracks start to merged together. The overall sound is nice and mellow offering some cold moments but yet the length is way too long and it's not as focus as other slowcore albums.

Persefone, returns in 2022 with their progressive metal relades, metanoia, with sees them continue their death and symphonic center sound for some impressive moments such as Katabasis and Merkaboh but often their are times where the bands takes it too slow and often can be quite a slug to go through such as Leap of Faith or Anabasis Pt. 1 but as a whole the album offers some explosive moments, good riffs and technical display and overall a strong showcase from the band

Rolo Tomassi returns after 4 years since their last release which exploded them onto the music scene to a wider audience, with Where Myth Becomes Memory which sees them with better production, more refined sound and better sound writing for a post-metal / post-hardcore mashup which comes off quite sentimental in tone whiilst having a nice ethereal atmosphere filled with many impressive moments, complex compisitions and amazing technical display for a great album

Raum - Daughter
70

Raum's sophomore album, after 9 years since their debut returns with Daughter, a soothing ethereal ambient record which has both a warming presence but yet a sad undertone layered beneath it all for quite an emotional ambient record and although it isn't my favorite record from this genre it manages to stay engaging throughout it's one hour runtime and convey a lot with so little but doesn't necessary have the lasting impact.

Cities Aviv best project in recent and a great example of how impressive production can be and how effective it can be mixing the right style of sound and production to match the vocalist for a hypnotic listen and although it's weakest is the length of the album that are so many highlights that as a whole listening experience it doesn't truly hinder it and many song not over staying their welcome, MAN PLAYS THE HARP stays as a great hip hop album and one which stands on its own two ... read more

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Freaky Styley

Even since their sophomore album, Red Hot Chili Peppers have always had a problem with bloating their albums, they are some decent songs in this record like Hollywood and If You Want Me To Stay but the rest of the album is so dull and uninspired and feels like a drag to listen to and for me it is their worst album and at times can just be bad, it has good moments even though their debut was just straight boring front and back but so many of these songs just feel so empty and ultimately leaves ... read more

Easily their best album before their huge blow up in the 90's The Uplift Mofo Party Plan still sees their heavy funk rock driven rock sound mixed with rap rock for at time fun catchy and yes uplifting tunes but they often get drown by songs that often feel like a drag to listen to and come off as boring

Another great funk driven alternative rock album by Red Hot Chili Peppers and stands as one of their better records and although it still suffers a problem similiar to others being too bloated, it is still a consistent listen and the highs do outweigh the lows with songs like Give It Away and Suck My Kiss, Blood Sugar Sex Magik is a playful, catchy album with impressive guitar work and songwriting.

Their last album that has some focus on their earlier funk rock sound, One Hot Minute, is easily one of the most unfocused albums by Red Hot Chili Peppers but within its psychedelic fueled sound is moments of amazing madness such as Aeroplane but more often that not the more heavy drugs inspired sound feels uncohesive and falls apart

After the huge success of Californication, it was obvious that a move to that more pop rock oriented sound was destined for Red Hot Chili Peppers and although i don't mind this move as other as for one I really love Californication, it was clear the band was beginning to play it more safer and even more bloated, there are still many great songs on this album and the well known ones are fantastic, but i can't deny that it is a downgrade with many songs which fill like filler but the overall ... read more

Paramore - All We Know Is Falling
58

The main problem with Paramore's debut All We Know is Falling is how safe it plays it, with Pop Punk being one of the biggest genres in the mid 2000's namely due to bands like Panic! at the disco, Green Day, Alkaline Trio etc. it was clear Pop Punk had some appeal. Although Hayley already showcased herself as a strong vocalist and really packs a punch with this album it often doesn't stick with the fact of how safe the instrumentals are and the songwriting being at times lack luster, it has ... read more

So Hideous - None But a Pure Heart Can Sing
79

Very strong album by the Post-Metal band So Hideous with a nice mixture of screamo lyrics which may not be the best in the genre but definitely shows a lot of passion throughout but the main strength of None But a Pure Heart Can Sing is the mixture of post-metal, symphonic metal and chamber music to create such epic soundscape filled with so much texture within its complex structure and stands out for it and how it can beautifully mix these together but those passionate and eclectic ... read more

On Katie Pruitt - Expectations
"I find the vocal melodies easily the strongest point of the album and the lyrics are not subtle but i think it works well within the album favor because it not really a subtl record itself in my opinion. From what i remember i found the instrumentals and production rather boring and the overall sound of the album to be dull which meant that the lyrics and the album as a whole didn't really connect with me. I haven't listen to it in a while but i can't remember much about it expect Out Of The Blue that has grow on me a bit."

On The Who - Tommy
"I don't just do my track rating by track by track. I do it by if the track adds to the album has an experience. Tommy is a very good record and if i didn't have the track ratings it would still get the same score mainly due the concept itself doesn't add much to the my overall enjoyment of the album. Every track is based on my enjoy-ability whether that be production, lyrics, melodies, instrumentals, transition into other songs, its involved and importance within the album, and whether it has impacted me personally (which at the end of the day it subjective) etc. I have listened to this album plenty of times but most of the time i feel especially with this album i wouldn't add anything new to the conversation. Maybe i just don't fully grasp that concept and therefore can't appreciated as much as other people but at least not everyone is going to agree with music."

"@kareenak yh out of all the K-pop band, BTS is the one with the most freedom but I am taking about the genre as a whole and even Jessica Hyun-ju Ho said they are genuine friends but she even stated that many bands in the genre don't like each other and that is the aspect I am talking about. Also, you are trying to say that just because i have this view point that it is xenophobiac when i stated that I like the band Otoboke beaver, and i also like; Akira Yamaoka, BABYMETAL, Run River North and Yuna, music from the other parts of the world in fact has some great stuff out there which i probably haven't heard i, but i don't like restricting people just because their are musicians "
