Nala Sinephro - Space 1.8
85

Easily one of the most relaxing albums of 2021, Nala Sinephro shows an impressive display of fusing NU Jazz and Ambient to create such a mellow and calming experience which is perfected in tone and executed and although this style of music I have to be in a certain mood for, when you are in the mood it excels and with such a stressful few years recently Space 1.8 is kinda what we needed.

Worm - Foreverglade
82

A great modern Death Doom Metal record, and although it may not doing anything new, Worm manages to make a dread filled, cold hearted dense listen of heavy dark metal and with a genuinely nice progression within the sound and song writing since they're 2020 release, it seems Worm is going in the right direction.

Papangu - Holoceno
83

On a technical level this album is a beautiful masterpiece, the fusion of prgressive metal and zeuhl to create such a complex, enriching and surreal avant-garde metal album is impressive although not necessary new, Papangu show their skills off with their complex structures and excellent compositions and although the vocals are the weakest part of this album, i can't deny that this album had my mind blown through out it's run time.

Mare Cognitum return one year later after their collaborative album with Spectral Lore with Solar Paroxysm which for me stands as one of their better albums. With fantastic riffs and epic and heavy atmosphere and lovely more spacey soundscape makes for such a grand listen where not a single moment is wasted or dull and it all comes together into an explosive and triumphant finish

yeule - Glitch Princess
76

Glitch Princess sees the return of Yeule and as the names suggest taking her glitch pop style into a more forward and center stage presence for some great hazy and ethereal music with strong almost nihilistic lyrics, Yeule brings a sense of a more darker side of her which is reflection in within the sound of the album with its more nocturnal soundscape as if you are lost in the dark, and although not many songs become huge favorite of me, the track list is varied and each offering many complex ... read more

Saba - Few Good Things
71

Saba reutnrs after 4 years since his blow up album CARE FOR ME, for again a more introspective and melancholic conscious hip hop album but yet comes off more uplifting and hopeful but yet nothing here really stands out or amazes me, the production is nice and dreamy but offers nothing more than a canvas to the lyrics and other the lyrics are good but then don't have that lasting punch and stick with me. It sound good and has good songs within the track list but it won't stick with me as much as ... read more

Animal Collective - Time Skiffs
74

I think it is safe to say, Animal Collective didn't have the best decade for them in the 2010's for easily some of their worst albums, songs and quite frankly ideas so when a new Animal Collective record is dropping it was safe to say I was hesitant before listening but yet hoping the band would reach some of that potential they reached in the 2000's. Well, Time Skiffs keeps the hopes up, although animal collective don't try anything new here and plays it generally safe with their sound which ... read more

Death from Above 1979 - Is 4 Lovers
56

It is safe to say that Death From Above 1979 is one of my favorite and most played bands of all time, and although not everyone is a fan of Outrage Is Now and The Physical World, both are great in my eyes and enjoyable, so where their new album dropped I was excited but it quickly got lost in my thoughts after a first listen but eventually i returned to it and sadly it is clearly there weakest album for me, it has good moments but often times feels like it lacks the passionate which i love so ... read more

2 popular underground hip hop stars, Armand Hammer and The Alchemist meet on HARAM, for one of the most surrealist hip hop albums in recent years, with its cryptic and dark undertones both in the lyricism and the production makes for an unsettling experience but eniunely can pay off for fantastic moments such as Black Sunlight and Stonefruit but often gets too lost in making the album so cryptic that it can forget to be memorable at times

Funeral Mist - Deiform
84

Funeral Mist returns in 2021 with their 4th studio album, Deiform and easily for me their best outing to date, with great production and some brutal, killer but catchy riffs and guitar work which just shreds through the eardrums. Aggressive and chaotic are the best ways to describe listening to Deiform but in that chaos is so much technical prowess and a great black metal release.

Mitski - Laurel Hell
83

Mitski returns in 2022 with her 6th studio album, Laurel Halo, a great artsy synthpop record filled with amazing singles and a consistent track list. With a more cryptic and introspective take to her songwriting, Laurel Halo offers some of Mitski's most darker lyrics centering around love and relationship painting them in a realistic but yet dark which is nicely joins up with the cold atmosphere present.

Easily one of the most anticipated albums of 2022, the follow up to Black Country, New Road's debut, Ants From Up There and what a release it is. With a new direction strongly focus on more artsy chamber post-rock taking influence from chamber jazz and pop, Ants From Up There is a more longing and sentimental album with quite a poetic soundscape with amazing composition bringing a beautiful yet bittersweet feeling for such a powerful and emotional listen.

Westside Gunn - Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Side B
81

Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Side B may be on of Westside Gunn's best projects to date with, although at 20 tracks, a consistent and enjoyable tracklist with no real low points and plenty of highlights, great production, good features and Bo Bo Booming everywhere. It's a boastful humorous and at times raw gangsta album with a lot to offer.

Panopticon returns in 2021, with one of the most interesting atmospheric black metal albums in recent years, taking elements of post-rock, folk metal and even Americana to create such a unique sounding album is impressive in of itself. But to also have it sounding impressively grand, lush with beautiful moments of melodic and aggressive triumphant part between mixed together in a dense album makes this album not only a fun captivating listen but an impressive moment for their career.

McKinley Dixon - For My Mama and Anyone Who Look Like Her
82

McKinley Dixon explosive 3rd studio album release, 6 years later after his first 2 LPs, is a showcase of how amazing the incorporation of jazz can be to hip hop. For My Mama is a lush sounding experience filled with conscious and thought provoking lyrics and goes off quite poetic at times and although the slight touches of detail are not always there to make it one of my favorite hip hop albums of 2021, it is easily a strong highlight with songs like Swangin' and Never Will Know, For My Mama... ... read more

Marchita is the solo debut album of the Mexican folk singer songwriter, Silvana Estrada, and what a powerful folk album it is, with great production with some Hispanic folk and jazz influence makes for a more compelling listen and Estrada's vocal performance is strong and although I personally don't understand the lyrics her voice is often for me another powerful instrument useful at creating some emotion to back up the record. On Katie Pruitt - Expectations
"I find the vocal melodies easily the strongest point of the album and the lyrics are not subtle but i think it works well within the album favor because it not really a subtl record itself in my opinion. From what i remember i found the instrumentals and production rather boring and the overall sound of the album to be dull which meant that the lyrics and the album as a whole didn't really connect with me. I haven't listen to it in a while but i can't remember much about it expect Out Of The Blue that has grow on me a bit."

On The Who - Tommy
"I don't just do my track rating by track by track. I do it by if the track adds to the album has an experience. Tommy is a very good record and if i didn't have the track ratings it would still get the same score mainly due the concept itself doesn't add much to the my overall enjoyment of the album. Every track is based on my enjoy-ability whether that be production, lyrics, melodies, instrumentals, transition into other songs, its involved and importance within the album, and whether it has impacted me personally (which at the end of the day it subjective) etc. I have listened to this album plenty of times but most of the time i feel especially with this album i wouldn't add anything new to the conversation. Maybe i just don't fully grasp that concept and therefore can't appreciated as much as other people but at least not everyone is going to agree with music."

"@kareenak yh out of all the K-pop band, BTS is the one with the most freedom but I am taking about the genre as a whole and even Jessica Hyun-ju Ho said they are genuine friends but she even stated that many bands in the genre don't like each other and that is the aspect I am talking about. Also, you are trying to say that just because i have this view point that it is xenophobiac when i stated that I like the band Otoboke beaver, and i also like; Akira Yamaoka, BABYMETAL, Run River North and Yuna, music from the other parts of the world in fact has some great stuff out there which i probably haven't heard i, but i don't like restricting people just because their are musicians "
