A very sick and unique EP, great vibes and insane instrumentation throughout, even if the spoken word style isn't for me at times, the post rock instrumentation really is my jam, and ultimately this is very compelling throughout!
This album was a pretty enjoyable experience for me, but not one I can say was a ton more than just a nice pleasant album. It starts off really strong with songs like Strawberries and Thursday, but falls off a bit in the middle being a bit more tame or having some weird sounding mixed instruments or weirder vocals. It does come back really strongly in the end though with songs like Exotic Animal Parade and Mizu Asobi that are great though, so while it may have lost some interest in the middle, ... read more
Honestly, there's not a whole lot I even have to say about this album, but not in a bad way! It's not trying to do anything crazy, or have any amazing groundbreaking styles, but it's just a wonderfully cozy album to curl up around the fire and just feel happy with (but also cry some of these songs are so sad) and I love that. Just a cozy time :)

Usually with albums like this, I can kinda see the appeal and understand why people like it, but this one I just cannot. The key problem I have with this album is the vocals. Half of the album, the lead singer is just... talking, which other albums have done before to great success, but in here the delivery feels dry and pointless. It clashes with the instrumentals, which in over half the songs take over half the song to really get going, and there are some songs which pull out autotune or just ... read more
This is an album I've loved since it came out, and honestly, it still holds up really well today! It's not the most groundbreaking or impressive EDM project to exist, but it sets out to do one mission, create some really fun boppy space themed songs, and it absolutely succeeds there in my opinion. There's a whole lot of variety here, and for an album that came out a whole 6 years ago, it holds up shockingly well production wise. It's not perfect by any means, there are some stinkers or songs ... read more
This album is one that I really found myself enjoying back in 2019, but coming back to it in 2024, I find myself pretty bored with it. It feels very bland and safe, with a lot of the songs being very simple vocal future bass tunes, with very little sticking out as a result. There are some real big standouts that try special types of progression or emotion (such as ones like Hyperviolence) and some very good vocal work, but the production consistently stands out as plain. An unremarkable album, ... read more
I really genuinely struggle to find anything actually wrong with this album. This album is crazy, chaotic, beautiful, and feels like it encompasses so much emotion in its 50 minute runtime that I just am sat with awe the whole time. The album chaotically bounces between pretty non-edm pop and beautiful journeys with songs like "Only For A Moment", but then bounces into crazy chaos with songs like WIRES222 and NOWNEVER, alongside insane sound design in songs like 743 Aether and death ... read more
There really is a lot to love about this album, and it's one of the most unique experiences I've listened to in some time! I really love the glitchy unique production this album holds, having a lot of webcore type sounds I really like. Not all of it sticks perfectly for me admittedly, with some songs feeling a bit messy or glitchy in a way that is definitely intentional, but not my absolute favorite to hear, but I can't deny just how cool the whole experience is from top to bottom. Where this ... read more
This album is absolutely stunning, and to be frankly honest I don't even think I have anything I directly dislike about it at all. samlrc being so young yet so talented is wonderful to see (I always love to support young artists in the scene!) and as someone who is really beginning to learn more about post rock, I find a lot of strong emotion and feelings in this that is really hard to replicate in other places, especially how it keeps flip flopping between long beautiful songs to intense ... read more
This is the type of album that I can't really pick favorites or least favorites on (though I do have some favorites regardless), as the whole thing just weaves itself beautifully into a 66 minute journey that I found myself deeply invested in. While I can't say most if any of this was really "save material" (that being music I save on its own to come back to outside of album context), it doesn't feel like an album trying to do that, instead being an album where you just transcend for ... read more
Not a horrible album by any means, but I feel like I was a bit let down coming in from the singles expecting something a bit more diverse. The production and sound design here is really top notch like always from Mr. Bill, with some really crazy songs pushing the boundaries of dubstep in really strong ways, but I find a good chunk of the songs here were either underbaked, too short, or a mixture of the 2. Has higher highs than Phantasmagoria, but I feel Phantasmagoria was an overall more ... read more
This album was a pretty enjoyable vibe to listen to from start to finish! This was my first proper Sweet Trip listen, and while I can't say I was blown away by it, I definitely had a good time with it. There's some real big hitters here that really standout, and the sounds in some songs are really quite nice! I really liked the songs especially that built into something quite big by the end, but most everything here had a good and fun to listen to sound. Not much to say, just an overall good ... read more
I really do wish I could fully understand the appeal here for this album. I think there *is* a lot to love here, with some INCREDIBLE standouts in songs like Ice Cream Piano and Connect, but so many of these songs fall flat by having very lackluster melodies with vocals attached to it that don't do enough to back it up for me. The biggest highlight of this album BY FAR is the instrumentation however, which is wonderfully unique and fresh and never bad, and easily keeps this from being an album ... read more
This album is an absolute vibe from start to finish! Good vibes and great vocals lead to a listening experience that I was fully immersed in from the beginning to the end. While I don't think it had a ton of massive standouts to me, and there were a few more shorter songs than I would've liked, I struggle to find anything really wrong with this album. It's just a really amazing listen as an album, and shows a clear mastery of creating a great vibe.

This album is pretty enjoyable! acloudyskye did a good job on it, and it feels very consistently made throughout. I have to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of his material, and it doesn't usually resonate with me a whole lot, but while other albums he's made can feel very inconsistent, I appreciate this one being consistently nice to listen to throughout. Good stuff!

Having become a Lizzy McAlpine fan through five seconds flat, I was really excited for this album! But I think this album kinda disappoints in a lot of ways, even if it's not *that* different from five seconds flat. The lack of collabs feels like this album has a lot riding on Lizzy keeping things interesting, but so many of the songs follow the same "emotional slow vulnerable" type of song that while I do enjoy, gets a little cliche after a while. Where this album *does* shine is ... read more
I am SHOOK by this album, holy CRAP
This is my first experience with glass beach, so I can't say much to their previous work, but this feels like an album that experiments in all the right ways and has so much fun with every style it wants to do. The sheer variety on display here is incredibly impressive, and considering I find most of them to nail their style shockingly well, I'd say their gambit was a success here. The main thing to highlight though is their sheer mastery of making a ... read more
This album baffles me in a way that not many albums manage to do, as its an album that feels like it has so much heart put into it and so much love and care, yet feels so... soulless and bland. Besides one distinct song (Listen/Learn), nothing here stands out or feels unique in any meaningful way, with some having particularly horrendous ideas with some really terrible drops (Spirit Tell Me), but most just being bland and uninspired. It's not really an awful album besides having a really really ... read more
While not exactly a bad album by any means, I was left a bit unimpressed by this. Not sure what about it really is making me feel that way, but I think besides a couple key really enjoyable songs, it's a bit bland feeling, and doesn't house much memorable tracks. Certainly some great vocal work here don't get me wrong, and some enjoyable instrumentals to boot, but I was left not feeling a strong desire to come back. Just a pretty ok album.

This is my first time listening to a Ride album, as I've never really heard most of their stuff till then. That being said, I'm pleasantly surprised by the fact that I enjoy this! I do think it starts off FAR stronger than it does, with some great rock styles and some very surprising hits (Light in a Quiet Room having an almost post rock style is really surprising and wonderful!) but takes a more chilled out direction where I find myself enjoying the vocals and melodies a little less. That ... read more
