Maybe the drone-iest grouper project and while that isnt really a bad thing, its less interesting than her other work. The buildup near the end is epic, climactic and satisfying. The 37 minute composition, while not being something I'd really revisit, is something I would recommend to grouper fans.
Syd hadn't lost his charm after his departure from Pink Floyd and the minimalistic instrumentation compliments it. The simplicity and nonchalont sound of this album is eerie, knowing Syd's situation at the time, but the output is very solid and definitely worth checking out if you're a Floyd fan.
fire as hell. a great beat that he didn't ruin. the hook is super catchy, drake is pretty good too, but damn this is the french montana the genre needs.
This album sounds pretty great but for whatever reason, some really good sounding tracks just fade out early. The intro, Meant for You and the third track, Wake the World, are really nice sounding pieces but they just end. Like what the hell man. Nonetheless, its another decent beach boys album with tracks worth revisiting.
Some great musical ideas often ruined by painful flows, lyrics and other horrible vocal decisions.
It's pretty much just soundtrack music. Not bad, not really good either. Well, not good in the sense that I'd ever really feel like listening to it. I haven't seen the movie but I'm sure that its fitting and enhances the experience.
While Roger Waters pretty much had full control over The Final Cut, The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking is a display of Waters' creative genius without relent and without being held back by his bandmates (not that the product of his music with his bandmates was bad at all obviously). This thing is cohesive, dense, and musically more refined than The Final Cut, yet still harbouring the same conceptual abundance that makes Roger's songwriting so special.
As a big fan of new age and other atmospheric music, this is a treat. It doesn't necessarily appeal to the average Floyd fan but the soundscapes on this are truly incredible. Not something I'd revisit often as it only feels proper in a full listen but I can comfortably hold it to praise.
This album gives pretty much everything I want from an Elvis album. Love it, super underrated.
Mac really starts to run out of charm on this album and it shows. However the album does still give some great tracks.
Usually Pink Floyd's oddities work in their favour. That mostly isn't the case with Ummagumma.
