Captain Beefheart's Discography:Part VIII
This album is very mediocre and I felt like I was going to have a heart attack from how SUGARY AND SWEET THIS FUCKING ALBUM IS I HATE IT AND I REMEMBERED MY YEARS FROM PRIMARY AND HOW EVERYONE WAS HAPPY AND ALL THAT SHIT BUT I WAS A MISERABLE LITTLE SHIT THAT HAD NO REAL FRIENDS BECAUSE I WOULD NEVER TALK TO FUCKING AND THEY KEPT ON TELLING ME THAT OH YOU'RE GOING TO FIND SOMEONE YOU CAN TALK TO FUCKING NO THAT WAS A LIE AND I HATE THEM. Captain Beefheart's Discography: Part VII
Apparently this is beefheart's most successful album. By reaching no. 191 on the us Billboard 200 chart and not even charting in the uk. This album is again beefheart trying a more accessible sound but this time the songs have more solid grooves and the band seems to actually be awake during the recording sessions. The riffs feel meatier and the drums are tight, even though it's the first time we hear a different drummer on a beefheart record they ... read more
The sun has risen. The Sun is here. Alex is here. You've been friends since middle school but you both confessed at some point at a birthday of a classmate you didn't care about, that perhaps you see your relationship as something more than a plain friendship. You left the party together in smiles and 80s pop was playing from some passing cars as you returned to your neighborhood. While others where watching their phones, because they had realized that they don't match each other and that the ... read more

One of, if not the most popular live album of all time. And for good reason, as we get hear to some of Nirvana's classics without the distortion and it shows just how much beauty lies within the instrumentals and Kurt's lyrics. It's a dark listen, especially considering that it was recorded a couple of months before Cobain's suicide (or murder if you're a weird one). Also we hear some amazing covers such as the legendary ones for The Man Who Sold The World and Where Did ... read more
Captain Beefheart's Discography: Part VI
this album is made for one sentence reviews/joke reviews, as there isn't really a lot to talk about and there's a lot that can be made fun of. It's not horrible but it clearly is a "sell-out" record, coupled with the watering down of beefheart's character for some blues rock tracks that feel like a parody of themselves, from the boring chords to the lyrics that try to paint beefheart as.... sexy. blegh.
It's not lower rated because it does ... read more

Captain Beefheart's Discography: Part V
Ayo, this is the album the label Buddah didn't want to release! sorta. See, It's just some tracks from the captain's abandoned project "It Comes to You in a Plain Brown Wrapper". In fact the recordings here are the original ones from all the way back in 67'. The label had the tapes and they decided to just kinda, release it. The pressing was haphazard to say the least.
What about the music? Well all tracks are considered to be long blues-y jam ... read more
Captain Beefheart's Discography: Part IV
This is the second most famous WaCkY beefheart album. It's really great!!!! Compared to trout mask replica this project is less experimental and abstract, but it still has that Beefheart charm that gives the project it's own flair. It also sounds like there's actual mixing and producing work in here. It still isn't the greatest production work but it's probably the best sounding beefheart album from a production standpoint, so far at least. Also, even ... read more
Original Review: This is unironically better than Nurture
Captain Beefheart's Discography: Part III
Man, what can I even say about this LMAO. One of my all time favourite albums and an album that's basically immune to analysis. As the Captain himself made the album with no intent of it having meaning. Well if go full nitpicking mode I can say that most of the lyrics do have a solid theme and do make sense, even though your first couple of listen you won't think that due to the overwhelming ... read more
Captain Beefheart's Discography: Part II
The story behind the album's creation is a bit of mess. Originally it was intended to be in a double album called It Comes to You in a Plain Brown Wrapper, but the label, Buddah (that's not a mistake on my part that's how the label's name is written) didn't want to publish it. A mf called Bob told them to re record some of the tracks and add some new ones for a different album under his label. Also bob produced the album in an interesting way, by trying ... read more

First things first, Thank yall for the 500 followers! I really appreciate it :)
I never thought I would be able to reach that milestone and I'm very surprised that I have people that care about my opinions or think that my page is cool or that I'm a good reviewer (which is the least likely tbh). I thank everyone that I interacted positively with and even the negative ones as they helped me shape up to the person I am today for ... read more
I think it could've cut out some fat but other than that it was a beautiful and calming experience, with serene vocals, peaceful and playful guitar playing and delicately soft drum grooves
first review of 2023!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
This is it. The first weird album. Not the first weird piece of music, but the first collection of tracks with a concept behind them that's out of the norm. And to also include vocals and lyrics as they play a major part of the experience. The vocalist's expressive performance is something to behold, even though it takes some time to get used to. The album's greatest strength are the string agreements, which even for their time, pop and have a ... read more

wish me good luck
We're opening up with a some dark guitar playing and some weird electronic sound which actually isn't electronic it's acoustic guitar but it sounded electronic. some dissonant strings (?) come in and oh god this will be a problem idk what is what already. it's long and drowny and holds a dark and ominous atmosphere. The strings become more and more dissonant. It has now become more specious. It sounds like you're inside a person (not in a sexual way you ... read more
It gets a zero only cause of THE NERVE to call a song, where a mothafucker called Dickerson sings it, SHE LIKES IT
I had a dream where Lauren Mayberry was my english teacher
I was disappointed when I woke up
I guess I might as well write something.
This album was the return the band needed after the mixed, at best, reception of their previous album Love Is Dead. They got rid of outsider producers that muddied the mix and simplified their songwriting. They decided to go darker drawing influence from horror. Of course it's still pop so don't expect them to drop a sudden wall of guitar noise while lauren ... read more
This was such an amazing vibe especially when I send a link to a random woman on reddit of Hostile Architecture's spotify page, one of the best metal albums of the year!
