why did this draw attention? Like I need an answer I don't get this at all.
arctic monkeys return with a decently enjoyable release that refines the sound that they built upon their previous release, TBH&C. The positives are important to note as I consider this to be the best mixed arctic monkeys album, as I found their previous work to have some moments that sound muddy when they shouldn't feel like that. Also it's their most rich sounding project with warm instrumentation and beautiful string arrangements. Alex Turner really shows of his vocals in these tracks ... read more
........Lately people have really been discussing the King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. So I decided to give their most well received album a shot. The only other King Gizz album I've heard was Infest the Rats' Nest, a metal album that altho did kick some ass, also felt like a gimmick/one time thing, especially as I've been exploring more metal returning to infest didn't really felt necessary as there were bands that could do that sound with more depth and more visceral texture.

stfu (kindly) about the new 1975 and please listen to this. Beautiful experimental music. yum yum the dissonance is tasty and the vocals are like orange juice. NO LYRICS ABOUT JERKING OFF. NO MATT HELLY OR HEALLY OR HALLY OR WHATEVER HE'S NAME IS. NO MID VOCALS, ONLY BEAUTIFUL.
note: I don't actually hate the 1975 it's just a lil joke lol, i haven't even listened to the lol album lol.
second note: I HATE THE 1975 GRRRRR GRRRRR GRRRRR. jane remover? we need a matt remover on this bitch!

remember that death bed song? where beadadoobee is sampled and it sounds really cute? and has like this nice cozy feeling, until that powfu guy shows up and says "i'm sad" and gets 1 billion streams on spotify (yes it has over a billion streams fr). One of the greatest cases of a one hit wonder I've personally have seen in my life. As for the project? It's generic emo lo-fi rap. washed out and cheap production, clunky flows, repetitive flows, lack of lyrical depth etc. It's basically ... read more
decided to give this a listen after the dust has settled a bit. We see Bjork embracing a sound that is quite hard to put a finger on. She takes elements of post-industrial and Gabber (which of course me and everyone who's reading this knows exactly what it is, and didn't think it was the name of a character from those cursed ass youtube videos for kids) while blending in some of the a cappela she did on Medulla and some more organic instrumentation that she's been embracing as of late. Most of the popular reviews on the album say it a lot, BUT the songwriting is very charismatic. Their voice remind me at points of Lou Reed's and I mean that in the best way possible. Very memorable lyrics and some of the stories told are very well put together, especially impressive for a debut. Some of the instrumentals can feel a little thin and but it doesn't detract that much. I'll check out her new record releasing next year and you should do that too.
Post-Punk classic.
YWGWYW's grandfather.
Joy Division for Goths. wait, joy division is already goth music.
Gothier Joy Division.
Goth Division.
Joy Goth.
Penis-punk.
Post-Penis.
The no wave influence kicks ass. Atmospheric, yet not afraid to embrace the harsher tones of punk. It might be their first album but it feels like they've been doing this for multiple years. Genuinely off-putting at points. The vocalist is eccentric and feels like he was picked from an asylum, but he's not crazy ... read more
The reason why I don't leave the house is so that I will be able to listen to paramore's upcoming album uninterrupted. Going to work is overrated tbh, Why do you care about your salary? Paramore is your new life. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!!!
Just gimme you, just gimme you
Just gimme you, that's all I wanna do
And if what they say is true
If it's true, I won't get mad at you
I may talk a lot of stuff
Guaranteed, I can back it up
I think I'mma call your bluff
Hurry up, I'm walkin' out front
Uh huh you see me in the spot like
"Ooh I love your style"
Uh huh show me what you got
'Cause I don't wanna waste my time
Uh huh see me in the spot like
"Ooh I love your style"
Uh huh show me what you got
Now come and make it ... read more
There comes a song that makes everything else seem boring and unoriginal, Bull Believer is that song. I won't spoil anything just for the love of everything that's holy listen to this.
As someone who despised her debut as I found it drab, colourless and without a hint of interesting ideas, this album is a huge improvement in every department. The lyrics feel more personal, the production is way more colourful and some tracks have a sound that I can't just go and say "oh this reminds me of ____".
Therese is the best example of this, with it's bright and peppy acoustic guitars leading to the tracks climax which heavily reminds me of 22, A Million by Bon Ive....r. ... read more
This is very cool. Glistening pop production that sounds huge yet not overblown, something that's rather hard to find in pop albums. The album ranges from beautiful vocal passages to danceable beats to some industrial undertones. You can hear some samples from big pop hits too, if you're into finding easter eggs you'll have a field day. If you're afraid do to the Vaporwave tag on the artist don't worry, even if I have never listened to a full song from that genre I was able to to find a lot of ... read more

With Brad reacting to the new Blackpink will certainly cause some people to check out some K-Pop albums to either try and find some enjoyment in them or just make fun of them for being corporate, soulless etc. I think it's ok to have whatever opinion you want about the music as long as you aren't asshole about it, a mistake that new people in the community make (I made that mistake too). I hope most people that have been on the site for a while have grown out of that. But knowing Brad's ... read more
Sure, why not. Pretty much yeah. It's an album. It's ok. This Hell bangs. Rina is very pretty. It's not as COMPRESSED AS SAWAYAMA. Most of the beats could've gone a little harder. Your Age blue balled me (WHY DID YOU MAKE THE DRUMS WAY LOUDER THAN THE KILLER SAMPLE SMH). Imagining is cool. yeah. exactly. sure. yeah. hmmmm. nah. This is very boring. The lyrics are cute. The production gives it a weird plastic skin that I don't like. COMPRESSION DOESN'T HELP. ahmmmm. Sawayama is better imo. I ... read more

Weyes Blood returns with the single for her upcoming album. It's a song that a lot of people seem to be connecting to heavily, mostly for its lyrical content which has obvious parallels to the hellhole that earth has been as of the last couple of years. It's expertly well written and the instrumental pallete is as beautiful as you'd expect from since her breakout project, Titanic Rising. But I don't know there's a lack of earnestness (or feels slightly checked out?) Her voice is as beautiful as ... read more
"He's a generational talent"
- a random guy at tiktok
or more like multiple random people on tiktok
See, the kid (he's younger than 18) isn't untalented, But if everyone goes around throwing words like genius or generational talent, you're bound to make people have high expectations. It's well produced and he has a great voice for that genre of music, that being lo-fi inflected slowcore, But it doesn't help much when the influences are that obvious, where it doesn't feel like a cute ... read more
