I thought Toxicity would be the peak of this band but oh boy was I wrong. It has more of the heavy sound you'd expect from these guys, but this time they spammed fancy vocals all over the place Alice in Chains style and it makes me love it all the more. Best song is B.Y.O.B (sky is blue), least favorite is the cocaine song (Grass is Green). I implore all to listen :)
This album is legendary for a reason. Every song here encapsulates a vibe that only pink floyd can offer. Fav song is Money, least fav is Speak To Me. It's a vibe for sure.
Demon Days is awesome sauce man. All the songs slap, and the journey the songs take you through if you truly absorb it all is awesome. Fav song is Feel Good Inc, least fav is don't get lost in heaven. Still banger though. I love gorillaz :)
Radiohead's first three albums are kinda like Pokemon evolutions. First one is good but not very menacing, second one brings up the heat while still showing room to grow, and the final (third) evolution absolutely slaps... maybe a bad example because this album slaps as well. It takes a bit of the sound of Pablo Honey and shows a bit of what to come with Ok Computer, but still feels original. Fav song is Bullet Proof... I Wish I Was, least fav I don't really know tbh. Incredibly consistent album that slaps so hard it hurts. Fav song is Stairway to Heaven (wow what a shock), and my least fav is probably Going to California but not by much, this album is just so consistent.
This, my friends, is art. It's not something you slap on in the background, this is music in the most artistic sense. The emotion portrayed is beautiful. Storm is my fav of the 4. True Art.
Legend has it that if your band chants his name in the mirror three times, David Grohl will appear and drum you a melody... yea the drums are noticeably great here, lol. And the guitars sound chunky in a good way. Fav song is No One Knows (Mosquito Song close second), and the worst is the opening track, feels like that one song in Ween's Quebec. Banger for sure.
An awesome record that refines the ideas low presented for the better. Heroes is the obvious standout and my favorite from here, but everything here is memorable to a certain degree. This was also one of my first exposures to ambient music and it sounds nice, very calming.
Very head banging Metal Music, while also showing more maturity compared to their first album. Fav song is Chop Suey or Aerials, don't really know what i'd say is my least fav song. Banger Album.
Living up to Layne Staley is practically impossible, but as a return they do themselves good. There's maybe one or two songs that drag on a bit too long (Looking at you When The Sun Rose Again), but everything sounds good here. Fav song is Check My Brain or Black Gives Way To Blue, you already know which one is my least fav, lol. Excited to see what they'll do next.
One the darker grunge albums for sure, but that's what makes it great. Layne Staley's vocals are amazing as they usually are, and everything sounds nice. Fav song is either Would or Them Bones, least fav is untitled, but it still has it's place here. Grunge go brrrrr
This is such a vibe I love it. Gorillaz is best when Albarn is in the forefront and that is displayed to the fullest here. Every song is awesome, at worst it's solid good stuff like Sorcererz or lake zurich, at best it's Fire Flies or Tranz, which are amazing. I can imagine myself putting this on at the beach, and just sitting there the whole day. I love it.
The Wall is very interesting, as it's also by technicality a soundtrack for a movie. That probably explains the bloatedness of it, but I mean, the amount of bloat that's negative is precisely none. Every song fits the narrative well, and it sounds awesome, as pink floyd tends to be.
Now this is fire. The more angelic feel these songs add is nice, and it's also classic rock, which is just always good. So what if they're copying from Led Zeppelin a bit, Led Zeppelin was good, so by extension this is also good. Fav songs are Heat Above and Built By Nations, Least fav is prolly Caravel. Don't Diss the goat... unless it's their first album, then you can.
The storytelling here is amazing. Every song is a bop and every song fits perfectly. Nothin much to say, it just works
Starman is my fav song of all time but until recently I never listened to this album in full. Now having done that I can say this is the peakest you'll get from david bowie (or maybe it'll get overthrown, idk, I ain't finished his discography yet). Moonage Daydream and Lady Stardust are personal favorites of mine. This whole album has a joy and whimsy to it that is just too infectious to ignore.
I love me some core. Every song here is awesome and i'd play any day, aside from the intermissions like Wet My Bed, but even then they have a place here that fills a role i'd say. Although if you want a more spicy take on things I think Plush is on the lower half of songs in this mix. Still great but other songs here are better for sure. Also at the end of the day it's Grunge, it sounds good either or, and I'd blast this on any day.
