Rating: 90
I took the rating off so this would stay off my top releases of the year. It's an unofficial "album" and doesn't belong there.
This was incredible. I can tell a lot of time and effort went into making this livestream experience and it really paid off. Speaking of paid, I feel so bad that I didn't pay for this. I'm really hoping it comes out on Blu-ray because I'd buy a copy in a heartbeat. A majority of these tracks hold candles to the originals and some even being ... read more
The more you look into the meaning behind this whole album and the tracks on it, the easier it is to appreciate and/or enjoy. Plus, most of these songs don't sound too bad at all. It's pretty over-hated. But I will agree that there are some cringe-inducing lines on here. Also the runtime is a bit longer than it needs to be.
Some of the most beautiful and unique vocals I've ever heard. He's got such a long range and can transform his voice with ease.
After listening to this, I'm honestly baffled by how low the rating is. It's a near perfect mood booster of an album. Almost every song has a pleasing happy/sunny vibe to it that I love so much, and those last 2 tracks were a really interesting switch up to the album.

Edit: A slight grower but I'm still not crazy about it. Easily the weakest single. It does exactly what it's supposed to, which is to be a cookie cutter, lazily written pop song to get stuck in your head.
Just about the time that Choker grows on me and I'm once again excited for the album's release, this shit comes out and makes me do a complete 180.
I can't tell these tracks apart from each other. Painfully average and boring.
"t h e . c l i m b . b a c k" is the only stand out for me.
This is some of the best calamari I've had in ages. My compliments to the chefs.
"I'll Do Anything" and "Body I Occupy" still slap to this day. There's a couple more okay tracks but I could easily pass on the rest. Loved this shit as a kid though.
While I have your attention, go check out Nat & Alex's solo stuff. It's much better and extremely underrated.
Wow. This is just, wow...
It's pretty much flawless. Forgiveness is the only track I'm not crazy about. Also, I feel like Idle Worship and No Friend should be together as one track. I guess it just saved them from having to make a radio edit for it so they split them.
This is such a powerful and emotional track. I would kill to be able to hear this song for the first time again. Honestly, I don't think Paramore will ever be able to top it. Easily the best thing to come from Twilight.
Also, @Spotify, what are you doing? Add this shit.
EDIT: Remember when I said they wouldn't be able to top this? I just listened to After Laughter for the first time and damn it's reeeaalllyy close to topping it for me.
I didn't know Hot Chelle Rae ever sounded like this. The sound is alternative rock, dance, and pop punk focused. A really well constructed album overall and fairly diverse in sound, unlike their 2nd album where almost every song sounds the extremely similar. Even though this was their debut, it's the more mature sounding album of theirs. I will definitely be revisiting this one from time to time.
Easily their best song. It's a shame they didn't make more like this.
