It is very sad that 30% of the site's users will be dead by 2036—the year their next, sixth album is released.

The album sounds like a blend of *Geogaddi* and *MHTRTC*. It isn't nearly as dark as others are making it out to be; only the track titles and the cover art are truly dark. Their previous release was actually the darker one. The album is interesting, but it definitely wasn't worth a 13-year wait. After 13 years, they really should have ... read more

Tori Amos - In Times of Dragons
81

A maximally predictable album from the late-era Tori Amos. It is gratifying that there turned out to be fewer outright weak songs than expected—though, conversely, there are no tracks on the level of "Reindeer King."

Bests: Veins / Song Of Sorrow / Fanny Faudrey

M.I.A. - M.I.7
77

User reactions to the last three albums clearly demonstrate why critics' opinions matter. The M I 7's ratings are laughably low, yet it definitely deserves at least 70.
To be fair, user ratings are also extremely important in the case of the her "MAYA" album and saved it from a stupid critic's attack.

Despite the fact that "M I.7" is extremely easy to listen to, unlike her 3rd and 4th albums, the singer herself hasn't stopped being a little crazy, at ... read more

Clark - Body Riddle

For some reason, I'm sure tracks like "Roulette Thrift Run" and the middle of "Vengeance Drools" were a fluke. Because he's never done anything like that before or since. It's a shame, because I had high hopes for him in the 2000s.

Clark - Iradelphic
81

This is one of his best albums. It has more waltz-like, flowing melodies than usual. Lots of harp and pseudo-guitars. And there are even two vocal songs: one extremely boring "Open" and one really good "Secret.".

After "Iradelphic", Clarke decided to simplify the melodies, set them to a straight beat, and become more enjoyable. But it had the opposite effect. For his caliber, the album sounds terribly flat and overly easy.

Unexpectedly good

RAYE - THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE.
83

Twice as complex as Janelle Monáe's "ArchAndroid", but half as catchy and overwrought. Because ArchAndroid the only female album that was created in this similar massive cinematic way.

I applaud her for complicating her songs, making them more unpredictable. But in pursuit of this, she sometimes loses the balance between the "critics music stuff" and good music overall. But starting with "Nightingale Lane," in the second half of the album, she ... read more

Robyn - Sexistential
72

She definitely lacks variety in the chord progressions in vocal melodies in the songs. They're often seems like twin sisters, and an new listener might even say they sound the same. While the previous "Honey" compensated for the variety of arrangements, this one is a complete dance meditation. Even the only truly interesting track, "Sexistantial," turned out to be silly, both lyrically and vocally.

Madonna - Erotica
92

Madonna's most hedonistic and trip-hop album. I love the balance between disco electronica and the jazzy Secret Garden. I love that the songs are long, almost five minutes each, and they never feel drawn out or boring for a second.
No wonder why this album got deserved recognition later cos Erotica was waaayyy tooo controversial and scandalous at the time of release.

Bests: Secret Garden / Erotica / Deeper And Deeper / Waiting / Why's It So Hard. / Thief Of Hearts.

A horribly uneven album with five wonderful songs. Disgusting, banal songs alternate with luxurious melodies, creating a feeling of being transported from a snowdrift to a sauna.

Autechre - Quaristice
81

This is Autechre's first album where there's almost nothing new in terms of bizarre sounds. They've reached the limit of humanity's capabilities in terms of the diversity and uniqueness of electronic sound.

Half the tracks sound unfinished, and some are quiet awful, like "Steels" or "SonDEremawe." But "Tankakern" feels short, and it's great that Autechre released two more discs with different versions of these tracks. This is the second ... read more

Autechre - NTS Session 4
70

No one realized that the hour-long length of All End was artificially stretched out so that all four parts of NTS would be exactly 8 hours, 0 minutes, 0 seconds. This is simply manipulation: Exai 2 hours / Elseq - 4 hours / NTS - 8.

NTS Sessions 4 is the most monotonous, accessible part and that's why most highly rated. There are no longer any of those farting and grinding sounds that were abundant in the previous parts. Essentially, this is a rather long ambient album.

79 --->77. Becomes worse with every listen ((.

You expect from Gorilazz to offer a bizarre mix of Western and Indian music, no worse than M.I.A.at least, but they've released a kitsch album where the creators think it's enough just to use traditional Indian instruments and assume that this creates a new sub-genre. Furthermore, the abundance of mediocre rap is simply irritating. Songs like "The Moon Crave" "The Sad Song" and "The Empty Dream Machine" ... read more

"Lol I'm not trying convince u change ratings at all. Everyone has their own opinion, that's ok. Your praise for All End suggests your ears aren't trained enough to understand that it takes months to fully immerse yourself in dense albums like Draft or Untilted. This is confirmed by the fact that people who initially misunderstood these albums later upped their ratings after months of rest or a dozen listens. This is the only drawback of most AE albums. You wouldn't even guess that All End's length is manipulative, as it runs just long enough to make the entire NTS Sessions exactly eight hours long. 8:00:00."
On zamnber's review of Autechre - Untilted
"I listen AE since 2004 year. All I've understood over the years I never rate their album even after 6 months after release. So it's ridiculous to read when another amateur states that Sublimit has less ideas than any monotonous 20+minutes tracks from NTS Sessions."

"Radically monotonous white ambient noise of 59 minutes of All End is ur favourite while Untilted tracks u call boring. Its ridiculous. When AE fans calls All End as their masterpiece u just depreciate their really complex dizzy tracks like Under BOAC, Sublimit or M4 Lemma. Because Autechre are first and foremost an experimental electronic band, not creators of functional sleep music or background music. In turms of ambient Foldfree Casual much more intricate"
