Pretty underwhelming. I'm hoping that I will enjoy it more as time goes on, but I really only enjoyed about 4 songs. This is not the Japandroids from 2012's Celebration Rock, nor from 2009's Post-Nothing. This is a new Japandroids with synths and melodies that aren't nearly as head-bangable. It's not a change that I'm too fond of.
Decided this is my favorite Bowie record
Holy crap. After only listening to Kaputt and Poison Season, I really didn't know what to expect diving into the rest of Destroyer's discography. I was pleasantly surprised by this album, especially because I am not that big a fan of chamber pop. Dan Bejar exceeded all expectations on this record. Each song is lively, clever, and melodic. This is one of the highlights of Destroyer's entire discography.
It's a beautiful record that touches multiple genres. A nice mix of ambience and art rock that had such innovation and ingenuity that shows why Eno is such a creative musician.
The Dead starts to go downhill. Only a couple really solid tracks on this one.
If you haven't enjoyed the Dead throughout any of the rest of their discography, then you probably won't enjoy this. It's just some mellowed down classic Grateful Dead tunes that are simple yet sound good.
I think this is the best post-breakup Swans album that we were gifted with. Each song creates an evil, daunting atmosphere for the listener that just can't be replicated by any other post-rock offered. The 34 minute long Bring the Sun/Tousaint L'Ouverture is breathtaking. Both discs of this record are astoundingly good. I think this album is what made me realize the ingenuity of Michael Gira. One of my favorite albums of the last couple years.
One of the defining records of American Rock. It's arguably the best Dead album and one of my favorites of all time. I think that the tracks that come off this album are easily accessible to all and leave for a lot of room to create the jam band that this group would soon become.
Sounds more like a bad blues rock album than anything the Velvet Underground would make.. With that being said, there are some pretty simple tracks that I don't mind, but overall it's a pretty meaningless album in regards to the rest of their discography.
One of the few records in the 21st century that is truly excellent. Panda Bear's vocals and experimentation transition over perfectly from AnCo, bringing us a release that dips into the world of psychedelia nicely.
It's a fun and emotional record. Definitely recommend this to anyone who's into new wave music, as this is one of the better releases from that movement.
I wasn't really sure what to expect from this album going in, but I was really impressed. There are a lot of short but sweet tracks ranging from 30 to 120 seconds that are just awesome. It's a really fun record for sure, and I definitely would put it in my top 25 for this year.
You can easily tell the difference that Eno makes on this album. Not as great as Remain in Light, but Fear of Music certainly shows great rhythm as well as creativity from the Talking Heads.
Some really good songs and some really bland songs. Lyrics could use a little more effort in them
Its political significance certainly boosts its score, but this is definitely one of my favorite hip hop records of all time.
An excellent comeback album from the post-rock kings. Swans produce a really intense ambience that is somewhat unprecedented from their older albums. Nice release.
