Kendrick Lamar - The Heart Part 5
100

Yeah this is probably going to be the best song of the year.
Kendrick rapping in the perspective of Nipsey Hussle in the last verse is so powerful and heart wrenching.
I don't know if I will be able to handle May 13th...

Sonny Rollins - Saxophone Colossus
85

St. Thomas is one of the best jazz pieces of the 50's.
A show of absolute domination over the genre by Sonny Rollins, had an absolute blast listening to this classic.

Jack Harlow - Come Home The Kids Miss You
40

The features are mostly good. I'm not a huge fan of the amount of restraint from this record in almost all aspects as I find Jack's wittiness to be a feature of his. I feel like he has a lot of emotion he wants to share but it's just not coming through with this production and lyric choices.
Favourite Tracks: Side Piece, Lil Secret, Parent Trap, Poison, Nail Tech, State Fair

Thelonious Monk - Brilliant Corners
78

Ridiculously talented and a staple in jazz.

Charles Mingus - Pithecanthropus erectus
74

Charles Mingus is unafraid of being abrupt and disrupt the flow of a sound to create a more interesting atmosphere. It's fun to hear these sounds creating their own settings and stories.

Frank Sinatra - In the Wee Small Hours
84

This album marks the rise of Sinatra after a decline in his career. It's incredible to feel this amount of warmth from an album using monophonic technology in the mid 50s. Classic.

Denzel Curry - Melt My Eyez See Your Future
87

An awakening of awareness. Each song is rich with great lyrics and hypnotizing instrumentals.

Future - I NEVER LIKED YOU
62

Mix of bangers

Favourite tracks: KEEP IT BURNIN, WAIT FOR YOU, WE JUS WANNA GET HIGH, BACK TO THE BASICS

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.
88

BLOOD & DNA is one of the best intro tracks to an album I've heard. I respect the open ended nature of this project. Although not as cohesive as TPAB or GKMC, I see DAMN as a brilliant attempt at creating a spread of open conversations about a range of topics. Instead of a three course meal, DAMN feels like a buffet.

midwxst - better luck next time.
71

Midwxst shows the potential of emo rap in an abrasive and intoxicating way.

Kendrick Lamar - untitled unmastered.
NR

Incredible B-Sides. Doesn't feel right to rate the project however.

Chet Baker - Chet Baker Sings
88

Chet Baker has one of the most beautiful and hypnotizing voices from the 50's. This is only amplified by the incredible restraint of the instrumentalists doing their best to compliment Chet's voice and creating such a warm atmosphere. In an era of extremely cheesy love songs, it's great to hear something a lot more intimate and passionate.
CLASSIC

Nigo - I Know NIGO!
51

There are some absolutely hilarious trash fires and some absolute crazy bangers on here.
Favourite Tracks: Lost and Found Freestyle 2019, Arya, Punch Bowl, Functional Addict, Hear Me Clearly, Come On Let's Go

Viper - The Hiram Clarke Hustler
72

Based on the remastered version by Rubys Boy

Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon: The End Of Day
82

Favourite Tracks: Soundtrack 2 My Life, Solo Dolo, Heart of a Lion, Day 'N' Night, Sky Might Fall, Alive, Cudi Zone, Make Her Say, Pursuit of Happiness, Hyyerr, Up Up & Away

파란노을 [Parannoul] - White Ceiling / Black Dots Wandering Around
NR

Stunning for a B-Sides EP.
Having an extra 40+ minutes of extra material with the same energy as Parannoul's last album is special to have.
Also White Ceiling has been stretched to almost 20 minutes, what else can I ask for?
