Perfume Genius - Ugly Season
πŸ† Awarded with Bloom Bop, my badge of musical elegance!

Breathtakingly uncanny, Mike Hadreas’ unique sixth album is a bold, widescreen musical theater that, unlike its predecessor, exquisitely unravels the mystical marvels of experimentalism—another magnificent proof that he thrives in wherever his ambition leads him. It is a survey of what music could be in the future.

On Mike Hadreas’ new album, he invites you to savor the thrilling soundscapes of experimentalism. The ... read more

Weyes Blood - And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow
πŸ† Awarded with Bloom Bop, my badge of musical elegance!

The new establishment from Natalie Mering is the most spiritual soundtrack of her career. It caresses, 𝘦𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘭π˜₯𝘴 in the beauty of nature, nourishing each and every patch of landscape with meticulous care. There is absolutely no doubt about her artistry, now that this magnificent album has been released; she is indeed one of today’s greatest musical wonders.

Natalie Mering loves to revisit the life of the past, ... read more

Phoenix - Alpha Zulu
On their seventh album, whose recording process took place in the Louvre, Phoenix rediscover the vibrant melodies of their teenage years, retracing the limitless energy of youth and childhood romances. Nostalgic as it might seem, 𝘈𝘭𝘱𝘩𝘒 𝘑𝘢𝘭𝘢 is a reinstatement for their position in the indie-pop scene: recklessly fun, effortlessly eccentric, and wonderfully contemplative.
Nikki Lane - Denim & Diamonds
My review of this album is up on the Line of Best Fit:

However, I did some revisions and made a couple of changes. If you'd like to read the newer version of the review, I have pasted it down below:

The anticipated follow-up to Nikki Lane’s acclaimed album 𝘏π˜ͺ𝘨𝘩𝘸𝘒𝘺 𝘘𝘢𝘦𝘦𝘯 has finally arrived, which is a fortunate relief given she almost didn’t want to create ... read more

Weyes Blood - It’s Not Just Me, It’s Everybody

Embracing yet again the aquatic soundscapes, Natalie Mering commences a grand new epoch with a thematic, immersive soundtrack. Marred by an existential crisis, she raises a ruminative question: Is eternity truly part of reality? Tracing through the sparkling arrangements of harps, piano, and humbled strings, she stands firm with her answer: All is temporary, and not only does this condition apply with herself, but also with all the living beings ever in existence. Yet, such a realization is ... read more

Jockstrap - I Love You Jennifer B
πŸ† Awarded with Bloom Bop, my badge of musical elegance!

Jockstrap’s debut record contains a platitude of concepts, but most lie beneath the duo's erudite experimentations. It’s breathtakingly effervescent: unyieldingly playful at parties, ridiculously melodramatic when isolated. Attention seems to be what this album strives towards so desperately—yet it is achieved in the end. Yes, the record never fails to grasp everyone’s attention, whether by the band’s ... read more

The Greatest -- it's one of my favourite songs ever tbh
Hey! This is a really delicious album indeed! Glad you enjoyed it too! 82 is a good rating! Will you write about it?
Personally I'm not especially conquered by The Hermit, too bloated and ambitious unfortunately, on the other hand there are great songs to accompany it
sure thing :)
I never really saw anyone use it but I was too lazy to write it lol. I personally gave it an 88 and judging by your track ratings, you enjoyed it a liiiil bit less so I'd say 84-86. ill leave that to u tho haha
yo i was checking the AITDHA track ratings and we seem to have pretty much the same opinions lmao
No problem, friend!
haha maybe god turn me into a flower lol... i need to relisten tho it's so beautiful
wow, interesting interpretation! and yeah i guess pop song kind of symbolizes that shift as it's a major mood changer in the record
it's growing off me now tho. the first half was kinda boring, with songs like "harem" having little to no progression, but the second half is splendid. but i prefer his earlier stuff tho
her music is addiction+
