Brian Eno - Discreet Music

This could easily put me to sleep.

Neil Young - Tonight's the Night
50

I'm so bored and this doesn't help in the slightest.

Camel - The Snow Goose
90

Rhayader- dude, this song got the flutes pumping, the piano doing its thang, and the classic 70's groove grooving. Just an all around great tune to bop your head to!

Rhayader goes to town- Then a guitar enters the equation! And some drums? Hell yeah! ( I know the flute, piano and the groves disappeared, BUT WE GOT AN ELECTRIC GUITAR NOW! ALL IS FORGIVEN!) There goes that guitar again reminding me to pray to the God himself Jimi Hendrix. I still haven't heard anyone do it as amazingly as the ... read more

Queen - A Night at the Opera
80

Queen at their worst is an ok and a bit weird band. Queen at their best like from Seaside Rendezvous to the all time classic that will never get old, and absolutely blew my mind when I first heard it as a 14 year old, and is a heavy influence of the music taste I hold today that if you have never heard before what are you doing with your life drop everything an check this masterpiece called "Bohemian Rhapsody". There is almost nothing better for your ears to experience with this ... read more

Elton John - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy

It was mostly a whelming album.
I liked:
Curtains
One Day at a time

(Since it's during the weekdays I got my full time job so reviews are going to be a lot less detailed unless it's a really impactful album.)

Alice Cooper - Welcome To My Nightmare
75

It was a good album with some great highlights in the songs:

Some folks- It has an easy going and fun energy that just contagious. Plus the chorus is so catchy! Had a lot a fun with this one.

Only woman Bleed- This starts of at a slower pace and let's Alice's singing take center stage. But then it gradually get grander and grander to this climax. Then we end off this song with Alice repeating the song title as background singers ahh away. It's a simple structure but hey don't fix what's not ... read more

Kraftwerk - Radio-Aktivität [Radio-Activity]
80

Intro song- it does it's job well.

Radioactivity - pretty minimal synths and choirs on the production side, real simple like the technology they had to work with. It's ok for what it is. But the lyrics are really left to be desired, I generally ignore the lyrical content of music unless the song calls for it, but even I can tell that it's lacking.

Radioland- I like this one a lot better. It's got a lot of old school sci fi noises (IDK how much more noises Kraftwerk has left in it's arsenal ... read more

Memo Boy - Songs & Demos 2015-2017

Enjoyed the last half of fish bait

Facebook.com had an enjoyable vibe with the guitars, drums, and synths

Youtspsit was a fun little tune/vibe.

Lovin the synths and bass in Nosferatu Cosplay Party.

I'm having a rave in my room all by myself is kinda self explainitory. Except I'm more vibing than raving.

Dunananananananana BRAT MAN!!!! Is a vibe! Then he goes a bit weird. But still vibing!

Hey! Guess what????
Billy Hole hole is vibing away too!

Killer Mike - MICHAEL

DOWN BY LAW: CeeLo green is back! I haven't heard him since he was a Judge for The voice all those years ago! Nice to hear from you again! You sound as great as I remember! Liking the organ and horns to start things off. Loving the production! Great start to this album!

SUED TEARS: atmospheric piano intro with some talking, but once the rapping begins My ears just start gleaming! The backing vocals are just amazing! I can just feel the passion of their singing in my soul! The production just ... read more

Sigur Rós - ÁTTA
65

I will admit that I fell half asleep for a good chunk of this album. Nothing really was sticking out and what I was hearing was pretty soothing. From what I did stay mostly awake to listen I enjoyed "Klettur" ,"Fall", and "8" woke me up from my drifting away consciousness. I liked that one as well. Great song to finish off this chill atmospheric album.

Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures
60

One of my friends recommended me this album, and unfortunately it's just fine overall to me. The songs I did enjoy (Scumbag Blues, Interlude with Ludes, Warsaw..., Caligulove, and the very part of the closer. The song itself was ok but I really liked how they closed it out) were great and if the album had more songs in the tune of the ones I mentioned then I would think if this album in a much better light. Unfortunately everything else in the album was just ok or pretty forgettable imo. And it ... read more

Queens of the Stone Age - In Times New Roman...
75

Consistently great but is risk adverse. This is my first time listening to an album by Queens of the Stone age and even I can sense that this is them just kinda sleepwalking through this. It's still good and will be a crowd pleaser, but I just can't give it a higher score than this despite liking several songs.

Avenged Sevenfold - Life Is But a Dream...
95

A friend of mine that knows what I enjoy out of music recommend this album saying "it's very experimental and interesting. It has the usual Heavy Metal, but also lots of more classic and blues rock, lots of acoustic and orchestral parts, and even straight up Daft Punk sounding synth. It's a very unique experience listening to the whole album in full/in order." And that description just got me all kinds of curious.

I saw this album get pretty bad reviews here so I assumed it was ... read more

King Crimson - Red

While not quite as good as Court of the crimson king, it's DAMN close! What an album!

Joni Mitchell - Court and Spark
85

Man the writing on this is just great! It took me a few songs to warm up to this but once I adjusted I can tell that this is really good stuff! I usually think of folk= boring, but that's not the case for this Album!

Neil Young - On the Beach
60

It's ok I guess.

Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
60

The songs that I enjoyed were few and far between unfortunately. I really liked those songs mind you, but the vast majority of this album was fine but it didn't make much impact for me.

Stevie Wonder - Fulfillingness' First Finale
95

Man you just can't go wrong with Stevie Wonder! Beautiful writing and Wonderful backing vocals as well as the instrumental. Such a joyful listen!

Frank Zappa - Apostrophe (')
100

I Hope Frank and crew had fun making this album, cause I had a BLAST listening to it just now! There's just so much creativity and passion just dripping from this! I absolutely adore the backing vocals they add so much! Zappa got that rizz in his vocal performance that just immediately draws you in. Shout-out to the electric guitar! It reminded me of the guitar god himself Jimi Hendrix at times! And the freaking production! There's so many things going on so you never get bored, but it never ... read more

"@frogofprog of course, all the songs listed in the review are great including the all time classic in War Pigs. I just think as an album experience as a whole it could be a bit better."

"@ScottShelby As for what's next for Zappa since I have listened to most of his Acclaimed stuff besides a couple of TMOI releases In likely to finish off that bands offerings before down the road see what Zappa has to offer in his more contentious releases."

"@AidenBowe45 He reminds of Paul McCartney at points with how passionately he sings and the instrumental goes crazy. It's a fun album for sure!"
On Muddy Waters - After the Rain
"@AidenBowe45 I honestly am just too familiar with this kind of style of straightforward Blues, sure it's classic but I find it stale and uninteresting especially compared to other styles that bring more to the table of the genre that makes for more engaging listening."
On Herbie Hancock - Fat Albert Rotunda
"@AidenBowe45 Groovy, funky and takes you on a ride. I don't remember if it goes wildly off the track but I wouldn't be surprised if it did with an artist like Hancock at the wheel."

"@AidenBowe45 I mean it's not the definitive vaporwave experience, but if you're a fan of the genre then there's definitely some solid stuff here."
On girl in red - if i could make it go quiet
"@AidenBowe45 I am likely not the intended audience since I am a grown ass 26 year old listening to these lyrics. I may not be fully aware of what the kiddos are into these days, but when I was an edgy teenager in middle school, shit like this banged for the girlies."
On Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
"@OldTask This album is definitely geared towards the artsy fartsy folks that appreciate just how deep into the rabbit hole this experience takes them. Definitely takes an experienced or a very open ear to truly "get it." Not everyone does, but the ones that do praise this shit up and down like I do."
On Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
"@Moosky This album is fit for a very particular meditative mindset you have to be in for the Inherent strangeness to pack as hard of a punch as it does. Like many albums I love this is like a sonic drug trip that is more to be experienced than enjoyed as regular music. This album has a legendary status because it goes deep into this surreal experimental soundscape unapologetically and not everyone is going to get it, but those who do are immensely rewarded. I recommend you to maybe expand your horizons and listen to ambient/Psychedelic/ experimental releases similar to this so your pallet is more used to what this amazing album has to offer. Cont."
On David Bowie - Station to Station
"@Jakeisthedoctor You mentioned that across the board I have wild takes, are there more recent examples that raises your eyebrows?"
On David Bowie - Station to Station
"@Jakeisthedoctor Man I really should delete and reevaluate these albums I reviewed in my early days when my taste wasn't nearly as refined yet expansive as it is now. Back in 2023 I was throwing my inexperienced taste into classics head first with no idea what I was talking about. It's part of the reason why I am exploring the 60s and 70s again along with bolstering my limited playlists. To great success too with my 60s playlist going from 90 tracks to over 750 and growing as I am now appreciative of the greatness that I am consuming. I promise when I get to these albums again down the road, I will likely have a more reasonable take. For now, just enjoy how unhinged I was in 2023."
On Vapora - Oceanside Mall
"@frogofprog oh yeah, Vapora. I definitely had mixed feelings with this artist. They had some genuinely great vaporwave along with...well ones that missed the mark. Yeah I was a bit more loose with my reviews back in 2023 just experimenting with how I liked to present my reviews. It results in some reviews I am still proud of to some I just go crazy on. It is also an era where I was still forming my tastes on like twenty+ genres at once so don't take my early reviews that seriously."
On Drake - Scorpion
"@Triplo Thanks! I don't often have something to say about an album these days past a standard passing observation, but popular releases from the 2010s are a good way to get be talking at least a little bit."
On Peter Gabriel - Peter Gabriel
"@RSmithFan What I meant was that this was the first album that felt like it was made in the eighties. Don't know why I phrased it that way either."
On Not Marshall - FRIDAY NIGHT A DRESS2IMPRESS MODEL HAS TO SHOW OFF HER NEW AFRO HAIRSTYLE

On Fabrizio De André - Vol. 1°
"@I_love_chickenw 👍 Whatever you say bud. I'll keep on doing what I do regardless of your berating."
On Fabrizio De André - Vol. 1°
"@I_love_chickenw Good for them and the people that praise their writing. That's not the reason I fell in love with music so I don't focus on it. And that is just as fine as those who do the opposite and completely mute the music and gush over the writing. Different strokes, we all appreciate art in our own individual ways."
On Fabrizio De André - Vol. 1°
"@I_love_chickenw Maybe I'll appreciate that part of the experience when I decide to give a shit about the lyrics. Until then, those pink floyd classics offer an amazing sonic experience regardless of whatever they are yapping about."
