Kendrick Lamar - untitled unmastered.
80

a great lil compilation/throaways album. untitled 05 is one of kendricks best songs

A Tribe Called Quest - The Love Movement
70

their worst album but not even bad at all

Beastie Boys - Check Your Head
79

still great but definitely the weakest of their first 5 albums

JasonMartin - CHUPACABRA
55

i listened to this on the trainride to see the foo fighters about june 16th or 17th. i listened and then promptly forgot about it but this album isnt bad, probably one of the better things to come from a legacy west coast artist in recent memory but its pretty forgettable

Ice Cube - War & Peace Vol. 1 (The War Disc)
50

not the worst thing ever, but not exactly good either. bloated to all hell and while cube doesnt suck here, it feels like a massive loss in identity after his first 4

Ice Cube - The Predator
80

im dissapointed, but not because its not quality. Theres no skips on this record but not only is the second half much weaker than the first but it abandons a certain style of production that i was LOVING.

this is ice cubes weakest album of his first 3 but the highs are higher than his first 2 imo. wicked is my favourite ice cube song, we had to tear this mothafucka has this dark low end theory type sound i love with the bass sample. the lyrics themselves are whitty and go perfectly with his ... read more

Ice Cube - AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted
94

A certified classic and arguably aged better than his sophomore album. I love the production here and this album is much more conscious than his past stuff with NWA. im not sure if im the only one who thinks this is easily better than straight outta compton but i will say it with my chest. the production is infectious and addicting and cube doesnt have any of the low moments lyrically that he would have on death certificate

Ice Cube - Death Certificate
89

this album is a tad bloated but what can i say its a classic. a few moments havent aged very well but a lot of all timers landed on here. i need to relisten to his first record but i'd feel comfortable calling this cubes best album. in terms of political hip hop, it doesnt get much better than this and is mostly fucking imaclate but theres a moment here and there that really puts me off. the political and conscious tracks are the best ones here and a couple bangers that dont really fit ... read more

Cypress Hill - IV
40

if the first 3 cypress hill albums are stoner hip hop, then this is when being a heavy stoner catches up to you.

i knew nothing of what to expect as i had not heard a single track off of this record and honestly i kinda wished i'd kept it that way but fuck it man i loved their first 3 albums, this carries it on what could go wrong?

this album made me feel fucking nothing except disorientation, convusion and turmoil. i would rather watch paint dry than listen to this again because ... read more

Cypress Hill - Cypress Hill
93

this album still sounds fresh. out of every hip hop album to do THIS kind of sound with the 80's inspired sample based west coast sound (yes, that includes straight out of compton and 2pacs SFMN, hell even ice cubes first 2 records arguably)

i fucking love this album and still think its a classic. this album all hits start to finish with some of the best production to ever hit this style, courtesy of group member DJ Muggs. with Cypress hill's first 3 albums he has a very distinct ... read more

Cypress Hill - Black Sunday
98

black sunday is one of my favourite hip hop albums of the 90's and is a fucking classic. the hazy and murky stoner music really fucking clicks with me and is something i have truly never felt replicated. these first 3 cypress hill albums are all classics in my opinion and dont get nearly enough credit for how fun and creative they are. each of these first 3 albums have such a unique identity to one another and it makes each album worth experiencing on their own merrits. Black sunday ... read more

Cypress Hill - III (Temples of Boom)
93

for cypress hill being such a popular group, people only tend to give props to black sunday and if anything else then a track here and there from their first 5 albums. theres always one song on each album that tends to get the critical and commercial love but the albums themselves dont get discussed NEARLY as much and i think thats really dissapointing. i love this album and think its probably their second best work behind black sunday. i love the dark horrorcore inspired production, its some ... read more

Justin Bieber - SWAG II
20

is just a crappy double album tacked on to a meh album

mgk - lost americana
29

i dont like MGK at all, but i do try my best to be as nice as i can even to artists i dont like but this shit is SO fucking boring. Hes left behind pop punk, instead just going for pop rock and it somehow sounds even MORE soulless. Its not as bad as his last album but its worse than tickets to my downfall and hotel diablo quite easily. it feels like his singing has improved on here and thats nice for him but the music sounds so generic and boring that it doesnt FUCKING MATTER

Joey Bada$$ - Lonely At The Top
60

This feels so uninspired and im dissapointed cause joey was doing GREAT this year musically

Spiritbox - Tsunami Sea
84

im seeing this album get a variety of reactions but i didnt know what to expect.

Fata morgana INSTANTLY had me hooked, these riffs are fucking disgusting in the best way possible, giving me heavy prime wes vorland vibes on this track. Black rainbow is certainly weirder but still solid and still has those guitars im loving but i fear i do understand the core complaints.

The mixing is a hard pill to swallow. the vocals can sound a tad muddy and the guitars can sound a tad drowned out by the ... read more

glaive - Y'all
96

This album is fun, emotional and honestly a masterpiece. im not familiar with glaive at all, this was a recently added pull for me but the production here is mostly high energy with glaives performances reflecting this, however the lyrics omes from a very personal and moving place. immaculate production and songwriting front to back

Various Artists - Black Panther: The Album
70

LA DEE DA DEE DA, SLOB ON ME KNOB

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter IV
70

even more inconsistent than TC3 but with higher highs

"Considering you liked flashout freestyle, give stunt 4 life by ezcodylee a shot. Given he already features on the original half blood you might fw it. It blends rage and punk rock perfectly in my opinion, and doesnt feel like the fake "punk" personas that carti or che have done in recent years"

"@StarLightBBX as someone who isnt a drake fan, idk why he hates in drake so strongly. I dont believe he's ever gone into any reasons he just pokes fun at him all the time. Granted its funny, but he's doint the same thing people dislike drake for. Repetitive whining"

"@dingalingaling i got it as soon as he started using the word "punk" the way he did. Being punk is being unapologetic about your politics and your opinions and che expresses absolutely none of that. Apart from the abrasive sound, there's no essense of 'punk' in anything that che does, especially in comparison to ezcodylee who has punk DNA embedded into each bit of the music"

"@redsnapper2 not at all, just because they employ distortion doesnt mean it distorts everything else, its a very clearly controlled chaos with death grips. With 2slimey it clearly trumps everything else in the instrumental and even the vocals."
On #1 MIDWXST DICKRIDER 🍆💦's review of 2slimey - times changin
"@ramonapark01 absolutely not lmao. Death grips isnt an assault on the ears with distorted 808s cranked to the max with trash lyrics and no variety in the delivery."

"@ramonapark01 death grips actually have talent. they actually pushed the envelope for the time and have substance to their writing. what does 2slimey bring to the table? I dont really hate 2slimey but death grips make coherent music, 2slimey doesnt."

"@felix_valkyria that history has no baring on the fact ice, especially as it stands right now, is a dangerous and tyrannical institution. it is wild to dismiss that fact due to the reason it exists because as it stands, innocent people are dying and its not just the sex traffickers and drug traffickers because the government that are so involved in funding ice, have also been covering up the biggest sex trafficking ring in human history. you're missing the point beyond belief. I wont deny that traffickers and other awful people have been persecuted at the hands of ICE, but as it currently stands, the way that institution is being handled as we speak is dangerous and it needs either drastically reformed, or abolished."

On PlasticTrees's review of Che - REST IN BASS: ENCORE
"@th3o you dont need video proof to believe carti beat his gf retard. Do you think thats the only valid form of proof for someone to believe someone did something? Do you think EVERYTHING is recorded or else it didnt happen? The closest we have is the footage of the interrogation and direct aftermath of him 'alledgedly' beating that pregnant woman. If you do your research you will find plenty good reasons that people believe that he did that."
On jackolson45's review of Nas - Magic 3
"As someone who likes this album a good bit more than most, magic 2 and 3 are so much less focused than magic 1. I think its because magic 2 and 3 were a lil more rushed and looser in concept as magic 1 was made in anticipation for KD3, but did something with more of an old school feel to set it apart. Magic 2 and 3 arent being made in anticipation of anything and just instead feel like throwaways from nas and hits other sessions"

Again to use an example, opiums visual aesthetic is used in tandom with the aesthetic they use in their music"
