It’s now Seulgi’s turn to get a solo album and wow I was really looking forward to it, from the first video trailer to the samplers, SM got me really curious about this project. It was announced as a dark and mysterious album, I was waiting for this, and I got exactly what I wanted to hear and see.
Starting off with the title, “28 Reasons”, Seulgi opens up with the line “I kiss your brother, I steal that heart” and it clearly sets the tone for what ... read more
After a couple of years of silence, EXID, who has been way too often looked over despite coming up with interesting music, is making a comeback.
As a Hani lover, and someone who discovered the group quite late and wished I did earlier I was happy to hear the news about a comeback and curious about what sound they would go for.
With the title "FIRE", they go for the girl-crush sound they're known for. The verses are good, even if I'm not the biggest fan of Hani's opening it's ... read more
i love the kind of woman that will actually just kill me. like please slice my throat and cover me in my own blood.
if that's the pre-single well omg, i cant wait for the actual title and the rest of the album!
Music was made to be enjoyed, and when it comes from a group you like and who happen to drop 1 album every 10 years, I kinda ignore the fact that some things could have been "better" because I don't want to ruin the fun I had listening to it. So yeah, and as someone who’s also never biased (spot the lie lvl99), the way I rate the pinks’ work is often different to an artist I wouldn’t care that much about, so yeah be aware :)
The first 3 tracks of the album, ... read more
That girl is just amazing, she has been writing such good songs for other acts and it's just so good to see she has even better songs for herself to showcase all of her talents. Each track is great, not once I was deceived or thought eh ok this one isn't as good as the others. This woman can do it all and her debut EP just proves it!
IVE confirmed they're a part of this new wave of girl groups coming up with interesting, original, and great music!
y'all I don't even know where to start but im enjoying this!
It was time for BLACKPINK to switch up their sound and they sort of did it by sampling traditional korean instruments and putting them over a more modern beat. The end product feels somewhat experimental at some point, and we can see how they're carefully getting closer to the hyperpop world.
This chorus isn't as hard-hitting as many other of the group's chorus but is different and it the end comes of just as impactful and brings a ... read more
I think this album is a step up from her debut album ‘Cheap Queen’ (yes my username comes from it).
I truly enjoyed each song on here, the only step down is “Crowbar” which I find somewhat boring, mostly compared to how much I enjoyed the rest.
I really like the sound she went for on this album, it feels raw, authentic, and intimate.
I guess it’s true that the album is mostly held by the singles, but I was still able to find new gems in the new songs such as ... read more
Well, well, it seems like if you keep telling yourself that you’ll go down, you eventually will… The group has been keeping on making better and better music each comeback, always fulfilling our expectations regarding the quality, originality, and identity of their music. But I guess that the day where, for once, you don’t meet up those expectations had to come, and it’s with this project. Enough of the negative talk tho, because the thing with groups like STAYC who are ... read more
Well well well, what a great album from bea!
She has always been a musician with these 2 distinct sounds, the soft indie sound with chamber pop hints on one side, and the alt-rock with the angsty vibe on the other one. Here again, the musician explores those 2 sides of her and pulls it off in an even better way than on her debut full album 'Fake It Flowers'. It's diverse and cohesive, not one song sounds like another and they all complete each other to assemble a great piece of work and art. ... read more
JYP’s 4th gen girl group has a tour coming and it’s this album that should act as the main event. A very ITZY-esque release, far from the group’s last 2 comebacks in terms of sound, and closer to their early days, to the sound that helped them make their own name in k-pop right away and differ from the rest. It’s that fun and weird sound, leaning on the experimental side at some moment that is back more than ever before. I wouldn’t call it a bad album, not a great ... read more
Our dear Chungha who dropped one of the best pop albums of 2021 is back with the first part of a new chapter. Once again, she delivers a great piece of work, there’s not a single bad song on here, some things could be improved to make it even better but we’re still getting a solid sophomore album.
The album starts with a sort of intro, where she switches between singing, rapping, and doing ad-libs on a trap beat mixed with dreamy and dark sonorities. It’s a bit weird tho that ... read more
There are a few things that don't make sense in this EP. First, why are the last 3 tracks on there? Like what's the meaning of this really? Then, as everyone has been saying here, "Life's Too Short" (here twice! as if once wasn't enough) and "ICU" don't bring anything to the project either.
Hopefully, the title track is good, despite not being as memorable as "Savage" or "Next Level" (and even Black Mamba"), but well let's give it some time too. ... read more
I probably won't write a review for this untill a while as I don't have the time for it these days, but I'll still leave a few words here because everyone who knows me here, knows that I'm a die hard orbit.
It's their first special mini-album and I'm glad to see that it is such a serve. Filled with positive energy and fresh songs, the group is back after getting more popularity in Korea through Queendom 2.
I'm really enjoying each of the tracks here and it's so good to see them back with a ... read more
