After a while, I’m back with a TXT review, coming back with reviewing such a cool album is quite a good thing to be honest, so I’m happy to have some time to write something nice about one of my favourite boy groups (if not my fav).
On their last album, the group already introduced us to a more rock colour, and here they continued to develop this sound which fits them so well. They don’t really overdo it to a point it could be cringe like it is way too often the case today ... read more
𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘁’s ReVe Festival is back! And it is grandiose!
The risk-taking side of 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘁 is back in action with a sound that mixes their elegant side with SM’s current glitchy and bassy experimental sound that we find a lot on 𝗡𝗖𝗧’s and 𝗮𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗮’s songs. It surprisingly works quite well here as it gives surprise and introduces the listener to something they’re not really used to, a sort ... read more
On <Crash> Charli 𝗫𝗖𝗫 opts for a more accessible sound without leaning towards a generic nor boring side but instead finds a way to mix her innovative style with pop’s standards and trends.
All throughout the album, 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶 explores diverse emotions all while opting for a very pop sound blending 80s pop and modern production styles. This album perfectly fits the super pop star image she intended to portray, and it’s great to see she did this without ... read more
(𝗚)𝗜-𝗗𝗟𝗘 are in their pop-rock girl boss era and I'm living for it!
After being away for a year, having to deal with the departure of their main dancer Seo Soojin and the group activities only consisting of solo content, CUBE’s self-made girl group (𝗚)𝗜-𝗗𝗟𝗘 is back and stronger than ever.
For their first full album, the girls are going for pop-rock anthems and the bad girl image and I think they’re doing great. The project consists of bold songs, ... read more
This is so annoying because like, the song could really be a great song if it wasn't for the horrible mixing. 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗺𝗶's voice is so nice as usual and I love her vocal color. But then the instrumental feels somewhat empty, like I like all the elements here but it just doesn't feel full at all, it wants to be warm but it doesn't have that one synth or sounds that would bring the track to the next level and make it feel warm and like a great synthpop track. And yeah the mixing doesn't ... read more
As much as I want to say that this isn't 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗹𝘆 and that I can't understand why they did that, I also want to mention that it's also nice to see groups doing different concepts and trying different sounds from time to time. Now, in no way do I want them to keep up with that style, like we really don't need it. But also, when you look at the bigger picture of 4th weird girl crush songs, it's not as bad as some other songs so like yeah.
"𝘝𝘦𝘯 ... read more
𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲 are back with their 2nd mini, and first as 7 members called <the collective soul and unconscious: chapter one> (which i dont inderstand bc we didnt have a chapter 2 for <The Billage of Perception>, or are both the same chapter, but like part 1 and 2 idk). They continue to show their unique sound and unusual sonic choices here. I like that they kept that will to come up with a title track that doesn’t really fit in, even if it fails to have the ... read more
JYPE's new girl group 𝗡𝗠𝗜𝗫, who already had been accused by many k-pop fans of copying other groups (mostly 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗡𝗔) when their teasers (both video and photo) came out, doesn't really beat the plagiarism accusations once the debut single is out.
From what I read, JYPE wants to create a new genre called "𝘔𝘐𝘟𝘟 𝘗𝘖𝘗", which is about mixing at least 2 genres of music into one song, to show the group's various charm, etc... but it's not as good ... read more
𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬𝗖 kick-off 2022 with yet another great project, their 4th one, and another one where they just hit! Where you don’t need a thousand listens to “get it”. <[𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗚-𝗟𝗨𝗩.𝗖𝗢𝗠]> is filled with good songs and really enjoyable as a whole. I don’t know how they manage to always impress me with such great music nor how B.E.P does to create such instrumentals, that really compliment each of the girls' voices that well. I ... read more
So yeah as I've kept up with anything that group has put out until now, I thought why not check out their new era as well, and well it's 𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘. Basic and generic songs. The title isn't that bad to me, and I think the b-sides are that generic that yes the title is good compared to those. Okay, I'll admit that I'm quite fine with "𝘜" actually. Anyway, here's a short review of each song.
Let's start with the title track "𝘑𝘐𝘒𝘑𝘐𝘕", ... read more
With her 3rd full album Taeyeon delivers a great and cohesive project, it doesn’t reinvent anything but maintains a sound of quality throughout the album. It does feel a bit long at some moments, mostly in the 2nd half, not because of the song present there, but just because it might lack a bit of exciting elements (I mean it in the way that even if you change the tracklist order, the feeling would most likely be the same).
I won’t talk about each track individually but just focus ... read more
VIVIZ and its 3 GFRIEND’s former members (SinB, Eunha, Umji), finally make their highly anticipated debuts. And the wait was totally worth it. There’s not one song that falls behind and they pull off a fun, bright, elegant, and cohesive album, full of great songs. I think this sound and concept is the perfect match for them. If you liked GFRIEND you will love this. And if you didn’t (you obviously lack of taste), you could still like this as they add cuter and bubblier ... read more
I've always loved MØ for her way of delivering her emotions in such pretty lyrics and in an honest way. This album shows her ability to be true to herself while expanding her sound great way.
Throughout the album we find ourselves driving between slow, sentimental songs and bangers full of energy. Which is totally how I see Karen’s music. A mix of both, and always put in a cohesive way. There is this thick synth-bass that is present in most (if not all) tracks and plays a huge ... read more
DON'T do it like this anymore please, and FNC give a comeback to Cherry Bullet instead. You have 3 members who got much hype thanks to GP999, and "Love So Sweet" was well-received, use this opportunity before the hype completely goes off I beg you!!!
Do It Like This: I don't often rate songs under 5/10, but this one isn't even worse a 5 :/. There's one part that I don't hate tho, the pre-chorus part is the only thing I can listen to.
That'$ Money: I do think it's slightly better than ... read more
The opener "Villain" isn't bad but just repetitive.
In the title track "TNT", we get rap verses that aren't really good but most vocal parts are quite enjoyable, mainly the chorus, which is also kinda catchy.
Then "Trauma" is exactly what most boy groups tend to sound like, some parts are fine (here again mostly the vocal parts), the raps are even worse in my opinion. I still think it could pass as the title because of the structure and the fact it has most ... read more
The way I wish this was better than it is, the way I wish it was okay enough to pretend I love it. But it's not the case, we can't say it's the budget because music quality has nothing to do with budget and some nugus are the living proof of this, and so is NATURE's previous comeback <NATURE WORLD: CODE M>.
I was really looking forward to this, a way to show people they're still alive, but I did expect something better than "RICA RICA". It has every single element of how title ... read more
With her 2nd solo mini-album, Moonbyul shows a softer and funnier side of herself. It's also a nice improvement compared to the last project.
We get 2 major types of songs, on one hand, we have the soft and rnb songs and on the other, fun and upbeat tracks.
For the first category, she totally nailed it, the intro "SYNOPSIS" is such a great opener with its dreamy guitar. The 2nd pre-single, "Shutdown" is just as beautiful and it's a full song with Seori. So it's even ... read more
