bibiiiiiiiiiii ty for this good song
"PADO" does everything I'd expect a BIBI to do. By this I mean, this effortless and sweet way of singing, a light production with some fun elements, the beat switch for the rap part, and well the pleasing rap where we can hear a different tone from her voice. Everything just flows so well together and it makes you wanna dance and it's so nice to listen to!
PS: bonus for the guitar ending
So it's Lisa's turn to get her own solo! First of all some background regarding my "relationship" with her. She was my first k-pop bias, the one that caught my eyes the most in Blackpink and probably the main reason I started to listen to them. I love her personality and genuinely like her! So of course this is biased but I'll try not to be too much. I had low expectations for this, to be honest, I knew we were gonna get a dance and rap-focused song and made by Teddy, for the most ... read more
I was reminded to review and rate this EP by @IngridJethro and I'm glad because it's such a great project (I thought I already did it and found out I didn't despite really enjoying it since its release).
Weeekly drops yet another fun mini-album, I loved 'We Play', and "After School" is still my fav Weeekly title, but this project is a serious rival. It's common to see groups leaning towards a more basic and mainstream sound in addition to projects that lack originality and lose ... read more
The new promising group from RBW, PURPLE KISS, is back with their 2nd mini-album 'HIDE & SEEK'. First of all, they debuted with a really nice album so, they had to keep the quality and even go up as we can let it pass on a debut. What's good is that they kept that quality around the same level, with well-produced songs, that for sure might not bring a lot of new things, but are still really well made and all enjoyable overall.
The title track "Zombie" is so fun, and it wasn't ... read more
STAYC once again proving there is room for originality in k-pop, and that yes girl crush might be dominating k-pop rn, but we want something new and they have it! "STEREOTYPE" is probably my fav STAYC title, it has a similar vibe as "ASAP" but in a sweeter way? All these teasers looked so great and really got me excited for this, despite not following them closely. For the theme of the song, they went for the "I'm a different girl and I'm sorry for being pretty and ... read more
This unit is known as the fuckboy unit among orbits (only olivia is missing) and god they killed it (they really killed people so guess i can only be right anyway) also seeing Kim Lip being credited as a writer makes me so happy, finally we can appreciate more of their talent, we all know at least half of them (ot12) either writes, produces, composes or make choreography, but bbc never let them share their work with us (only Choerry was credited as a choreographer once or twice if I'm right) ... read more
*pretends to be shook*
Since the day Lolo told fans a remix would come I screamed "BIBIIIII!!!!", on the top of my lungs, some were saying Dua, Rina, or Joy, but every time I would scream again "BIBIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII". She confirmed it was with a South Korean act, and while some were still considering Joy (as both like each other's music and interacted on it a few times), I kept screaming "BIIIIIIIIBBBBIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII". And then she revealed the cover and I ... read more
You know what, I'm so mad.
This song is a blast, one of the best in their discography. The production is really good and it's totally my thing, it fits them a lot and feels like a mix of the color of songs like "Untouchable" and the little elements that spice up EVERGLOW's tracks such as half-time bridges or chord changes. The vocals are on point too but that has never been an issue for them. What has been an issue since forever (pun not intended) is the unfair line distribution, but ... read more
Just found out about this group while watching Show Champion today and I don't know but they kinda caught my eye. I find "Too Too" really refreshing and fun, without trying hard to be something it's not. Nowadays, more and more new girl groups are going for the girl-crush concept, and having a newcomer going for fresh energy is very pleasing. The title track is just so catchy and easy to vibe with I just wanna listen to it over and over.
Then the 2 b-sides, "Beautiful Night" ... read more
After the release of 4 Mini-Album from 2019 to 2021, the group composed of BX, Seunghun, Yonghee, Bae Jinyoung, and Hyunsuk, is coming back with their first full album 'Be Ok'. Through this album, we get a side of the group we already encountered during previous projects, mixed with a summer-ish feeling to end the season.
The album starts with "BAD DREAM", it's a nice song and I loved the synth used. I was expecting a better drop but the overall performance makes up for it, and the ... read more
The queens are back!
'Queendom' is Red Velvet's 6th Mini-Album and one of their best for sure. It's a quite colorful project which showcases each of the member's talents together, after seeing them releasing EPs as a duo or solo.
The title track is a fun and bright song, the raps aren't bad but as usual, it's with their vocals that the group truly shines.
The B-sides are all good as well and complete the title track by keeping the same energy and bringing some diversity in ... read more
Dear CLC, YOU will always go up, it's such a shame you found yourself in a company that doesn't care about your talent anymore (did cube ever treated them well at all?).
Imagine learning a group will no longer have activities together, through Yujin feeling like she gave her all to CLC for nothing, in a survival show on MNET. Devasting, I wish the best to each of them and hope for their discography to be remembered and to shine among new k-pop stans (some are getting to know CLC right now ... read more
SUNMI I LOVE YOU SO MUCH
I really don't even know what to say because of how much I like this EP, I just wanna enjoy it without thinking about anything.
It's full of retro sounds that just fit her so well and where she sings effortlessly in. Her voice will never fail to make me fall in love and her lyrics are as good.
I'm convinced Sunmi debuting in a group and then solo, is one of the best things that ever happened to k-pop.
somi somi somi oh girl u deserve better
This just ends up being another predictable, bland song with the same drop formula Teddy always does. The rap is completely out of context and I found myself wondering what was the purpose of it. I like Somi's voice and genuinely love her and will keep on supporting her but yeah after such a long break, I wanted to hear something better that would leave like WOAH YES SOMI IS COMING!!! but here I'm not sure. It gets kind of better with time but yeah,, Somi ... read more
I thought this was positively a good album from the group, the title track "BEcause" brings a change compared to their previous title, with what sounds like creepy old toys sample (and did remind me of Melanie Martinez at some point) all while keeping that DC sound. The b-sides are either good or just fine but overall they all come together pretty well.
I don't really know what to say about this album but to say how happy, proud, and excited this album makes me.
To see Billie grow and reinvent herself is amazing. As someone who's been by her side since mid-2017 when she only had 3 songs on streaming platforms, I'm once again pleased by her work.
The album doesn't really contain any bad track, even if some could go (without being awful tracks either) they all bring their own element to the project and it works just well the way it is. Moreover, ... read more
This is the type of song I like to listen to with my eyes closed focusing on all the tiny elements happening here and there and I love it.
i will always be proud of claire cottrill and will always love claire cottrill
I'm genuinely happy to see her progress and evolution, 'Sling' is without any doubt a great album and I've been wishing so bad to hear her on a project of that kind. This type of sound is being a lil more current lately, and it makes me feel so good when I listen to it.
