I seem to enjoy anything they release. Despite not being as good as their debut with 'Beam Of Prism' and having less fun than 'Summer VIbe', this EP confirms their mature and elegant sound, with tight bass lines and bright synths. The album is for sure quite safe, but it's also very cohesive. We'll have to get used to groups sticking with one or a very few sounds in the future I think, so I'm fine with getting another project with the same colour as long as it's still as well produced, which is ... read more
The first 3 tracks going one after another is such a killer move, 3 instant bops back to back. I think Ava Max is the only global pop act right now, who still comes up with music that can meet the standard of radio and the grand public, all while having a project that is undeniably great. In all the major acts we see these days, she's one of the few who brings novelty and good ideas to the table, without falling into the big generic and boring hole. Even if her debut album wasn't as good, it ... read more
Well... it's rather a disappointing EP. I've been used to less generic material coming from them, but all that comes out of this doesn't end up with any personality and completely leaves any cohesiveness behind - unless dropping your most generic project yet is called being consistent on each track of the mini.
The project opens with its best song "Devil by the Window". It's a nice pop song with some darkness to it and a softer twist towards the end which makes the transition to get ... read more
Before their new 2023 record drop I wanted to check out their 2 previous albums so here I am, I knew nothing about them and only knew them cause I've seen the upcoming album at my workplace and I can't help but look at it wanting to know more about the album and group. So I knew I was going to get something rock but nothing more. Well, the rock I got was actually not the one I would have bet on, this project is really spacious and the more you get into it the more psychedelic it gets. I really ... read more
I think it's the first time I check out one of their releases (after playing the MV of the two previous songs earlier), and I'm glad I finally gave them a try. I like the blending of a sharp sound and a more heartwarming one, they don't do it in a clashing way and end up making the two go hand in hand.
My biggest question after listening to "SHOOTING STAR" is - How did they manage to blend those sharp autotuned raps and metallic elements in the verse, with such dreamy vocals and ... read more
There are a lot of fun moments tbh! I like how it’s not only a selection of light fun tunes, but you can also find some slower songs with more experimentation. I think it's definitely worth giving it a listen.
I'm totally in love with a couple of songs in there. The opener feels like it could be in a movie and just every track brings so much flavor to the project. They all complete each other so well, in such ways you get diverse mood, from dancy song to emotional ballads, all beautifully crafted and in a cohesive manner.
PS: the fact the last song ends with a robotic/high-pitched "bye bye *kiss*" makes the whole thing even better and more complete, such a range!
It's a fine album, a couple of tracks have nice melodies and can get you humming along but unfortunately it's not the case for most. However, there aren't any particularly bad moments and that's why I still consider it nice, it just kinda fail to get the listener's attention due the lack of catchy melodies and none really stays after you moved onto the next song. So even if I don't see myself going back to it, I wouldn't mind having it on if I want some nice and soft guitar playing in the ... read more
What a change from the always energetic and uplifting side of Yena. I'm happy we get to see her with a different sort of sound as it allows her to show more sides of herself.
A nice little intro opens up the project and it's a perfect mood setter for the rest.
"Wash Away" follows and I think I fell in love with this song. It’s pretty and well-written. We could argue about the fact it’s almost the same thing all the way, but her delivery here totally makes the simplicity ... read more
GOT the beat is back with a mini-album this time to let us appreciate (?) even more of their sonic colour. And, you know, I've been finding myself enjoying a couple of things in there so I guess the good part somewhat makes out for the bad tracks.
We're starting off with "Step Back" followers, "̶S̶t̶e̶p̶ ̶F̶o̶r̶w̶a̶r̶d̶", "Stamp on It", not but actually I do take it as a step forward as I enjoy it. While I admit it’s sad to waste the vocals of ... read more

I'm not someone familiar with SF9 at all and this was a nice "introduction" to their discography. Some good tunes on there and just decent ones at times.
The title track “Puzzle” is totally my type of song, the vocals are nice the raps are fine, the production is slick and I’m a sucker for those kinds of tracks based around the bassline.
“Love Colour” is an easy-going song, with that light summer feels. It’s honestly quite fun and the chorus is ... read more
It's more fun than "Raise Your Glass" and here we let go of the soft and very simple production for something louder and a bit more interesting, all with a pop rock sound. I think her voice is used better here as the melodies are less flat.
As a fan of Le Sserafim I also want to give a shout-out to Source Music for letting Yunjin not only do her own music but also releasing it everywhere, which is something very few companies do and when they do it's only on youtube (not including ... read more
The song doesn't have anything special going on, it's your typical sorrowful teen pop song. Production is bland, the lyrics are simple and so I wished she used her voice as a way to make some parts stand out more, like there could have been a bridge with higher notes and a powerful vocal delivery to elevate the song.
This first mini-album is fine, to be honest, it gots some fun moments, mostly thanks to the title track, you can find some future bass and reggeaton sounds here and there which helps to link the songs together.
The beginning of “Ring the Alarm” took me by surprise but it quickly got into me with its catchiness. It's sort of a minimal production, there's much space and a very bassy drop. To me, this one would have worked more as the title track.
I don't like "Rose Blossom" ... read more
This album is so splendid, apart from a few tracks that tend to be slightly flat and don't bring as much as the others - but that are still gorgeous, everything from the production and its dark sound selection to the vocal and the way she expresses the lines in such a soft yet strong way is magnific. The whole project sounds like a dark crystal and that just makes sense to me, like some princess from the forgotten kingdom shit.
I like it, it has a powerful, hopeful and somehow bittersweet vibe to it. The pre-chorus and chorus are really the peaks of the song, it gives all the emotion needed, and the pre-chorus perfectly set the tension for the chorus to relieve it. The repetitive post-chorus kinda throw me off tho, because it doesn't really fit the rest of the song to me. Then the verses are just fine but I feel like if they worked more on making the verses fit the chorus in terms of mood, the song would have really ... read more
