These covers sound even more unenthusiastic than the last mixtapes by "K Dot" I really don't see this kid going anywhere.
Pretty much the exact same points of my review of the OG stand. It's just that 2007 is amazing, especially that first beat.
It doesn't move me man. It geniunely hurts to see how much JID is wasted on this album. His technicality and lyricism is amazing. He can also harmonize cuz he has a pretty descent singing voice. But damn this production is so uninspired. I couldn't even give a slight head bop to half these songs. If JID could get some more unique production, like something similar to early Kendrick, it could be some of the greatest rap music released.
Insanely strong opening just for JID to stand over the album and shit his pants at the end. Although I will admit even the boring/bad songs at the end exemplify JID's great lyricism.
One of the better lyrical spiritual miracle rappers I've heard. I thought the first part of NEVER was trash but I've grown quite fond of it with more listens. This album also has a pretty chill vibe all throughout. That might just be JID's delivery. Excited to give more of his stuff a try.
FAVORITES: Doo Wop, NEVER, EdEddnEddy, Hereditary, All Bad, 8701, Somebody, LAUDER
Let me premise this by saying I really don't like jazz. I find it repetitive and boring, so Jazz rap isn't exactly my thing either. However, after hearing Medusa I was blown away. The album starts off strong but that last half is sooooo weak. Boldy's flow starts to become monotonous and the beats start to descend into lullabies. If this album took 10 years to make then 9 of them went into making medusa. Medusa is one of the greatest rap songs I've ever heard.

EDIT: What was I thinking when I gave this a 10 lmao. This is Earl's best for sure and I appreciate song's like Grief and and Huey a lot more. The production despite being very dark is often very unique on each track and actually kinda catchy. Na-Kel absolutely washes Earl on DNA.
FAVORITE TRACKS: Huey, Manta, Faucet, Grief, Off Top, AM // Radio, Inside, DNA, Wool
Insanely bad step down from RTJ1. These beats are boring and sound like throwaways from RTJ1. Lets hope the 3rd time they "run" it back that it's a lot better haha get it get it.
FAVORITE TRACKS: Jeopardy, Early, Love Again (Akinyele Back)
Some really great instrumentals on pretty much every track. The choruses are great, the hooks are catchy, the lyrics are pretty powerful with a great message. I don't like Jazz but the jazzy instrumentals on tracks like Rigamortus made me bop my leg. Such a shame that Ab Souls Outro ruined an otherwise perfect album. That track is pretty bad.
FAVORITE TRACKS: Everything but Ab Souls Outro
Wow. If you played any of these songs and asked me to identify them by name, I don't think I could. All these songs sound so similar, but that's a good thing as they all are amazing. This is the first time I've listened to a rock album start to finish and oh my, what a great first start.
Noise for the sake of noise, these beats are just uninteresting and makes me never want to listen to any of these songs again oh my gosh I hate this production style so much.
FAVORITE TRACKS: XXX, Pac Blood, Radio Song, Nosebleeds, Scrap or Die, 30
Moderate step up from Live Love. Clams Casino is unreal. 1train is one of the best songs I've ever heard period. I just really didn't enjoy those first two tracks. Also a pretty lackluster ending tack. The belly of this album is great.
FAVORITE TRACKS: PMW (All I Really Need), LVL, Pain, 1train, Fashion Killa, Pheonix
Every song was a coin toss of whether it would be a lullaby or a banger.
FAVORITE TRACKS: Palace, Bass, Purple Swag: Chapter 2, Trilla, Kissin' Pink, Roll One Up, Out of This World
Not familiar with either MC and their solo career. I am now. I don't think I've ever enjoyed such simple beats this much before. The songs sound so unenthusiastic yet so.... good. Idk.
FAVORITE TRACKS: Everything but Get It and Twin Hype Back
When it goes crazy, it goes crazy. Definitely starts off very strong as the tracks from the first Act are my favorite. A lot of the songs just sort of feel like loud noise that isn't very catchy or nice to listen to. Act 3 is heavily guilty of this.
I wanted to think this album was perfect after hearing reborn like 6 years ago. It was pretty good. Nothing mind-blowing IMO.
FAVORITE TRACKS: 4th Dimension, Freeee (Ghost Town Pt. 2), Reborn, Kids See Ghosts, Cudi Montage
