first 10/10 beach boys song with In My Room, definitely feels like Brian's only progressing in terms of songwriting. I do hope the surf rock era ends sometime soon though, there's only so much you can do with this style
i'm not honestly surprised this album is so hated but it's seriously not meant to be taken remotely seriously. this is closer to real, unironic music than dariacore has ever been for me
this album seriously feels like being a soldier mid-winter on the eastern front. fighting over basically nothing but decimated plains with no guarantee you'll be alive tomorrow. only the faint sounds of artillery fire in the distance. you'll probably never see your family again. merry fucking christmas.
admittedly yes, it is absurdly overlong at times i can't help but feel just outright baffled at how impressive of an achievement this is. i could've done without some parts on giants under the sun tho
