My mom owns this on CD so I heard it a plenty growing up. The most emotional in Usher's discography.
I don't understand why this doesn't get its flowers. It's songwriting might not be as strong as its contemporaries, but it bangs.
Raw, sexy, soulful, under-appreciated has everything you could ask for on a Neo-Soul album.
This album encapsulates the feeling of finding peace in solitude. Justin while writing this in a cabin just lets it flow even after going through his band and partner's breakup, and his health issues. It took me a while to really value the benefits of isolation. Even when I can sit in my own thoughts I can feel focused on myself on my own creativity as I try to write songs myself. Even 5 years after I listened to this for the first time, it still tugs my soul. It will forever hold a piece of my ... read more
I had this at a 90 BEFORE I really looked into it. Flawless, emotional, raw, from the heart, this is what a singer-songwriter with the stature of Elverum should strive to be. A heartbreak BANGER as my melancholic folks would describe this to be.
I don’t like it. I thought the beats were mid, the message didn’t pull me through, and I don’t dick ride Fantano/Brad enough to just use their opinion. Maybe psychologically I can’t like Danny Brown because that Penguin bar in 1Train made me physically Welch in pure disgust.

This is the mixtape that if you listened to it when you were 13, would change your whole persona. Your mom wouldn't dress you anymore, you were too stupid enough to push the bad people away from your life, and you felt true sadness for the first time. This potentially has that effect on people.
This blew me away wow the instrumentation is something else. Sarah's voice just gets the point across really well on the more emotional tracks on the LP. It is nothing short of wonderful. One of the best noise pop I've heard executed well.
I found this from a recommendation by a twitter mutual. It reminds me of an orange cat that won't stop doing goofy shit. I can't help but smile listening. it's just cute and fun pop which is usually stuff I don't tend to take a liking to.
I'm a sucker for good guitar, and man I am sucking hard alright.
