Earl's writing, despite not being technically as good as his earlier work, is so much more expressive on this album, making the atmosphere way more immersive. I'm not huge into the experimental hip-hop scene, but hopefully this album will motivate me to explore more music like this.
Kinda weird because like is Earl trying to make a fire rap album or a depressing album? Either way, it's great.
Edit: 83 -> 86
A little overrated, but still a good album. I think if Earl had displayed more growth since his first mixtape, it would have been a better album. To me, Earl is getting better in his albums. (So far...)
This has the same problems as Bastard where you kinda have to just accept that he raps about murder and rape. Other than that, the beats are good, and Earl has incredible lyricism.
Nowhere near as good as Disk 1, but still great. Similar to Disk 1, I may need a few listens to appreciate this project.
It took me a few listens to like In Rainbows, and it will probably take me a few more listens to fully appreciate and understand it.
Very mixed bag. Although a lot of it was very mid, there are certain tracks that make me realize why people love Juice, even if it’s just for a second.
Yeah it’s alright. Basically the songs in the first third are great but everything else is just alright or worse.
Very solid, better than DFMB, but honestly they are very close in quality. Keem’s signature has gotta be beat switches lol. (Please come back Baby Keem I’m begging)
Honestly, all of the added songs are really good! But the fact that he had to call this "Sorry 4 Da Wait" is kind of telling in it of itself.
Much better than The OF Tape Vol. 2. I'm so grateful that Bastard is on Spotify.
One of the best experimental/abstract hip-hop albums, but my only problem is that it is almost too experimental, like the three tracks in a row that are all skits. The middle section especially drags on for me. But if you look at it holistically, there's a lot of good to be found.
Edit: 85 -> 92
Woah. I knew I needed to revisit this, but woah.
Pretty good, but god it falls off hard from track 9-11 though. The rest of the album is good, it's just that section really hurts my enjoyment of this album when listening to it all in a row. The standout track and my favorite song is easily HONEST.
Extremely consistent and very good, but not many tracks pop out at me too much. Although it may not be my favorite style of music, I can certainly appreciate this album a lot.
