Yeah, it's pretty average. BSD sucks. Yonkers is amazing. Overall, Tyler's worst album by far. Emphasis on album.
One of Kendrick's weakest projects for sure, but still an incredible album that feels like a victory lap after winning the beef against Drake.
Edit: Okay I overrated it a little bit.
Good but nothing incredible. Good singing, instrumentals, storytelling, and more.
A little overrated in my opinion, but I can enjoy this album for what it is: a stepping stone in the evolution of Tyler, The Creator.
The best album of 2024, hands down. Vince gives some inspirational messages and explores personal themes on this record.
Edit: Damn, I forgot about Samurai. Still, Vince's best project and an incredible feat of storytelling and emotion.
This album perfectly explores themes of duality, religion, and racism. Although it obviously isn't Kendrick's best, it contributes to why I believe he is the best rapper alive.
The deepest Tyler album that is more personal than ever before. I bet we will look back on this album as the turning point in his career.
Wildly overhated because of one Melon who didn't like it all that much. I find that this album has some of Tyler's most fun and timeless tracks in his entire discography.
The added tracks are great, but they don't change my rating much. Fun, but not needed. I see why he kept them off the original version.
Tyler flexes how he has reached such a high point in his career, creating a very upbeat, energetic, and enjoyable listen with a few low points.
Incredible listen, front to back. I have no real complaints, but the removal of a few filler tracks could make for a more cohesive album.
A good album sonically, but very hard to understand without doing a deep dive into the entire script that goes along with it.
Edit: 79 -> 83
A mixed bag for sure. Incredible beats, rapping ability, and story, but the subject matter he raps about like rape or murder takes me out of the experience quite a bit.
This album is extremely impressive considering that it was his first effort that he released when he was just 17. One of my favorite mixtapes oat.
There are some very high highs that I consider to be perfect songs like Jocelyn Flores, Revenge, and EDITN, but I do think that the teenage angst brings my enjoyment of the album as a whole down a bit.
Very overhated, almost every song is great. The exception would be the lackluster intro featuring Diddy.
