Having heard it a few times, "Falling Into Me" is still a decent single, just not as ambitious as I thought it would be.
The synth layer is still good, just not big enough and too anticlimactic. The lyrics still paint a picture of nervousness and anxiety, but not enough. Throughout the 5 and three quarter minutes this song takes to complete, this song wastes much of its time on underwhelming production and under-executed
The vocals are subpar, but not as bad as "Hot ... read more
"Television Romance", the band's second official single after "There's A Honey", is a competent release from the band. I've listened to it many times to the point that it has been overplayed. So, what is my opinion?
For a starter, the lyricism here is driven from a female perspective (as most romantic pop songs have, although this isn't a romantic song) and its clear that she's not into the guy. It's very shallow, derivative and cliched to the point that its repetitive and ... read more
I was too critical of this song the first time around, but having listened to it a few times, it is still underwhelming. Yet, the beat is good by itself and I enjoyed the synth intro quite a lot, as it whirs into the first verse. The tropical nature of this song was not expected at all, and I believe this is where the 1975 are going way over their heads.
The execution of this song is the most abysmal part of this entire track and its the same damn problem with all the singles by the band for ... read more
I've been a fan of Cigarettes After Sex after I found "Nothing's Gonna Hurt You Baby" accidentally on YouTube. Listening to "I.", the EP, while lo-fi in its entirety, brought out a different sound of dream-pop that was slow, melodic and ambient. I adored their work start to finish and waited anxiously for their debut.
On their first record out on Partisan comes a cohesive and romantic album that, while at times fantastical, touches upon the reality of love and romance and ... read more
Captain Beefheart manages to make one of the most polarizing and challenging listens to ever stand the test of time. While eclectic in its mannerisms and never afraid to show it, its raw deliveries have still won me over.
The one thing that disgusts me is Beefheart's dirty little fingerprints, if you hold up the papers into a light, all over everything.
WHAT I LIKE: The drumming always takes the center stage, for me. The instrumentals are groovy. It is both impressive and artistic to hear ... read more
I've listened to songs from this album multiple times and I simply cannot find a reason not to rate this 100, effectively becoming the first album that I've rated 100.
"7" is the seventh studio album by Beach House, a rather well-known dream pop duo who have released albums such as "Teen Dream", "Bloom" and "Depression Cherry". They've been around for roughly a decade and yet, reportedly their sound has remained stagnant and ever stubborn for six albums. ... read more

New Order has been an influential band throughout my lifetime. This album was no different. Ever since I saw its three YouTube teasers for it back in June 2015, I was constantly updating the Wikipedia page for it (Thanks to my efforts, it's the reason why it is mostly the way it is) and waiting for it. And when it released, I listened to it day after day.
After revisiting it since the last time I played it one or two years ago, a lot has ... read more
100. Hands down. The song is amazing and grooves so much.
WHAT I LIKE: Basically everything.
WHAT I DON'T: I used to not like the arp'd piano chord. The guitar sample is pretty horrible, but has grown enjoyable over time.
Out of the singles released for "A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships", this is by my favorite *slightly*. The composition is a bit more edible than "Give Yourself a Try" and "TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME", but not necessarily better. It's a dramatic shift in style and it seems like they are pulling off an 80's pop vibe.
All three of these singles fail at execution, which is the process in which ideas are translated into working concepts. The lyrics are over-the-top ... read more
There are shining moments here, but President of What's second album is a letdown. Lyrically, sonically and in execution.
WHAT I LIKE: The frontman clearly puts his heart and soul into this album and kudos to him. He's a really nice guy and I respect him for what he did here. As for the album, some uses of synths, soundscapes and ideas occasionally rock the boat and leave me satisfied.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE IS EVERYTHING ELSE.

It's Drake.
WHAT I LIKE FOR PART ONE: Not much.... I guess the piano part at "Emotionless".
WHAT I DON'T FOR PART ONE: Drake's rapping. The beats are lazy. The production is bad and inconsistent.
SONGS FOR PART ONE:
"Survival": 5.3. The beat is alright. I don't really like the lyrics. The beat is so lifeless. I don't bop to it.
"Nonstop": 4.1. I don't like obnoxious ad-libs, because they are just out of place and unnecessary. The "give me my respect" ... read more
The lyrics are annoying. This is just bad. MV was average.
The beat is alright. Definitely average, but still "hard" and shit. I don't really care for Miller's lyrics, but I do like his presentation a bit.

OVERALL: "Half Awake" is one of the most listenable EPs I've enjoyed in such a long time. Up there with The Japanese House. What The Japanese House lacks in experimentalism, TOPAZ makes up for with minimal but dreamy production and aesthetic. Very nostalgic, as though you are completely soaked in a white-and-black film. Feels like swimming.

First time I've heard of Plini. He also says that he is part of the "djent" culture/genre. I've only ever heard mentions of djent on YouTube. The song is fantastic. Syncopated drums, groovy rhythms and an accessible feel. The piano adds that level of "uneasiness". The mix sounds just right, well-defined and well-balanced. However, wishing there was something a little more. Also, the drums switching up is not really that ... read more

It's bad. It's poorly mixed and it clearly reflects the copy-paste mental state that's going on with VinnyO, as they said apparently. The jarring change in style between pop rap and metal, with condolences to screamo at the end, is in such poor taste. The lyrics are forgettable and bad.
Don't listen. It would've been a 0, except it had potential that showed in the beginning. But it's so big of a letdown.
As the first single for the band's ill-fated third studio album, "A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships". I thought it was good initially, and I thought it was one of their greatest. But as time went on, I think that the 1975 are taking a step into the wrong direction.
This is one of their worst ones yet, as the lyrics clash with the pop punk style of Panic! At the Disco's "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out". The lyrics are interesting, but they don't fit this style so much ... read more

OVERALL: This is a fun and experimental record that is probably my favorite DG album, so far. Doesn't sound like anything else Death Grips has done, not even TMS. Thematically, this album is a very dark and icky album, with themes of death, social media, celebrity culture and the underground that helps push the sound of Death Grips into new territory.
WHAT I LIKE: I like the production and versatility to this ... read more
