Quadeca is so damn good it genuinely scares me, and usually I am not even into this type of music
Squid is such "on the point" kind of name. Alien sounding band actually using familiar sounds, almost like they are not men but those exact Squids in disguise. Bright Green Field is really an experience, an album that throught every track feels like an exploration, deeper and deeper dive, eerie and oddly comforting. Full of stuff that makes you both confused and fascinated, so you want to see more and more. Its kind of a listen that just stays with you..

I think Kevin can do better than a straight up summer festival music, but its still kinda fun I guess. Not bad at all, its just forgettable
I think Im getting in love with this record, yup. Its a bait good enough to make me want to go throught their work
Its like, you are stuck in the town full of abstract white coloured architecture. Jazz for people who love spearmint tea and like watching digital numbers do their little "bee-ba-bop" sounds. Im surprised how interesting it is for an hour of pure experiment. Im not going back to it, but I do not regret this listen even a little bit.
I'll just bring up the only joke about this album everyone have told already, Its title is fitting, Ironic. And thats probably the only thing that will pop up in the head of average someone who just got reminded of this LP's existence. No wonder, Paint drying, Staring at the wall, whatever you call it, its just boring. It feels like collection of scraps, unfinished ideas, B-sides from Plastic Beach. And it sounds kinda similar, but without those exciting elements + laidback attitude ... read more
I don't think genres like "Screamo" are often dressed up in such an epic and progressive aestetics. And it sounds way better than its meant to. Crazy record, though I find "background" placed vocals as lacking for something that sounds so alive. But whatever, worth the hype and score
Original Pirate Material might be the most British-streets sounding thing I have experienced yet, If I didnt remembered Guy Ritchie's movies like "Snatch", I would have been ready to believe that some of the tracks were used probably in bar scenes or with characters getting high. Exactly that. While production and instrumental part is a chef's kiss, brilliant even, vocals honestly feel off. I wouldn't bother if not LP's sound, constant spoken word goes bit too far ... read more
Well, stepping out of my comfort zone ended up not that well this time, its waayyyy too chaotic and abstract, experimental to the point that Its just stripped down from any enjoyment. I respect the effort and on the positive side it had some interesting or even cool moments. Also I love the cover.. and cats
Decent, there's a spark of something more, its catchy and way better than some messy records of this era, deffinitely Sabbath's best since "Mob Rules"
Its probably a silly comprassion but I can't help it anyway, it reminds me of "Late of The Pier" - "Fantasy Black Channel" but if it was a hardcore math rock album instead. It kind of sounds like that, ridicuolusly catchy for its genres, probably one and only in its sound. I dont think its trying to be a mature record too, "BATS Spelled Backwards is STAB" is an example of a song that just proves that. And I believe its a good thing, with that attidute they ... read more
Its alright, kinda tends to drag itself without any interesting ideas, but I guess thats the cost of making a stoner-sludge mix when almost all of fun parts are stuffed in the middle of the albhm
