Okay.
So I was listening to Fame Monster just before midnight. To prepare myself for what I was about to witness. I didn't know if I will be disappointed or amazed. I only knew that the singles from this record gave me big "oofs" and "yikes".
Why this feels so regressive to me?
Like it doesn't even sound like her "groundbreaking" LPs.
It sounds like a cheap 2000s pop that the same Lady Gaga saved by releasing Fame Monster.
It simply lacks creativity. And ... read more
Honestly I'm just listening to know what Logan Paul will be hating over the next few weeks of drama.
*Confusion*
I don't know what to say.
So first of all when I see an album this long I always look for one thing.
I ask myself: Is it consistent? Do the songs fit together?
And in this case it's just doesn't click for me.
Songs on their own aren't that bad, some of them-pretty enjoyable but it's all going places when you look at it as a whole.
It's like an inexperienced driver's first lap on a track. When you're on the straights it all goes smoothly. But then you meet a corner, oversteer and ... read more
It seems unbelievable that this is coming from the same person who made "Call me Maybe" .
"Real" pop has quite a bright future ahead of it.
I just hate when the first song is IMO the worst one.
It leaves a bad taste in my ears.
Other than that "Have you seen her?" is a good dance pop album.
Interesting melody writing saved it for me.
I wanted a F I E R C E punch and all I get is a floppy slap..
It's just one of these weeks, isn't it?
To many good albums.
I just had it playing in the background and chilled out completely
I mean... It's not bad. And it is not innovative in any way.
Just another good quality Indie folk album.
Perfect for a pleasant Sunday evening.
I listened to this album while riding to work on a tram in Warsaw.
Somehow I felt like I'm back in the late 80s surrounded by grey, concrete blocks of flats.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for anything nostalgic this days but this music is a pure joy to me.
Is it only me or is there a strong eurodance inspiration behind this project?
Most of the tracks are catchy but I have one slight problem.
About halfway through the proccesed vocals start to feel a little bit repetitive.
But if it grooves I approve👋
First thought. This sounds so RICH.
Next thought. This has so much soul that my skin now has a darker tone.
Sometimes artist tend to put as much instruments as they can and very often they end up with 'not that bad' sounding mess.
This record proves that it doesn't matter how much noises you put in.
You just need to know how to fit them all together.
Okay, so it's my first time with Perfume Genius and I'm already asking myself why.
The first song "Whole life" totally grabbed me but then the almost baroque sounds of "Jason" just blew me away.
I don't really know if I'm sad or happy but I'm sure I'm moved.
Balance between classical instruments and synths or electric guitars is on point.
Definitely one of the best produced and well-rounded records so far this year.

Mysterious. Takes you to a different place. The production on this album is incredible
