Criminally underrated. A lot of covers, but the covers are often better than the originals, and his originals are great as well. A folk rock record from the hey day that is slept on by the masses
Herb co-founded A+M Records which started as an 'indie' label that would go on to release some of the greatest records across the 60's into today. This is the first records that the Tijuana Bass are featured with Herb, and its non-stop fun and full of quirk, unlike a lot of the jazz pop and exotica of the mid 60's. A fun listen and an absolute perfect cocktail summer evening record.
Never Again is one of the best recordings of 1965, unfortunately the rest of the record is middling at best
The applause seems a little rich for a studio recording.

I use a rating system that starts every album at 50. Track by track this number goes up or down depending on how I enjoy the track. As long as songs are enjoyable, the album should be landing in the 70+ range. This system is similar to the traditional grading system in American schools (F -- A+, where F is -50, A+ is 100).
