I never really cared for the front bottoms, but since they went to my high school, I try and keep an eye on them. Don't love this, but glad they're doing well

I don't know, maybe he's just old but I don't find his flow as enjoyable as it was on earlier stuff, even albums I didn't love. It just doesn't have the same personality
why can't I find this on apple music?
Edit: So this was literally the last album I listened to in my 2020 review. Put it off because it wasn't on apple music. And holy fuck. Captivating. mesmerizing, beautiful. Easily my favorite Phil Elverum project
Man the Year of Hibernation was amazing, and Trevor has followed it up with a decade of mediocre music
Not quite as fun as the debut but still super good. May revise up later. Pleasantly surprised to get another strong effort from them so fast after the debut
I always have found Jessy Lanza a bit of an enigma. I see some unrealized potential in her. And while this is well produced, a lot of it kinda fades into the background...
I approached this with curiosity because of the Aaron Dessner collab, and it was definitely the best Tswift record in a while after the last two kinda sucked. It's just so hard to evaluate Taylor objectively these days given her persona, and so some of that certainly is seeping in here. It's pretty easy to roll your eyes at some of the lyrics and what may seem like an insincere effort to be "indie."
